Chapter 29

Another Enemy

Kagome was waiting in her room. As Hojo said someone came into her room to get her ready. She was worried. What was Hojo planning? Why would Inuyasha and the gang be dinner guests?

Inuyasha, Sango, Miroku, and Shippo all looked around as they followed the youkai. They soon entered a dining area. None of them recognized anything in the room because it was from Kagome's time.

There was a long table in the middle of the room with a chandelier above them. It didn't work because there was no electricity. The table was set.

"Please take a seat anywhere but at the head or end of the table." Inuyasha sat in the seat near the end. Miroku was beside Inuyasha and Sango was across from him with Shippo beside her.

That's when Hojo came in. He was still wearing his school uniform. He looked around and smiled. His guests had finally arrived. He walked to the table and took a seat at the head of the table.

Inuyasha was about to leap at him and rip out his throat.

"I wouldn't do anything Inuyasha. As you know Kagome is here and I'm sure you wouldn't want anything to happen to her." Hojo said.

"Where is she?" Inuyasha growled.

"Patience Inuyasha she will be here soon. I would advise you all not to do anything drastic. Accidents might happen."

Just then Kagome walked in. She saw everyone and her eyes widened. She didn't expect them to get there so fast. Kagome was about to run to them when Hojo shook his head and pointed to the seat to the seat next to him.

Everyone had looked up at Kagome. She was wearing a red evening gown. It fit her like a glove. Inuyasha stared at her. He had never seen her wear something like that. Hell he'd barely seen Kagome in anything other than her uniform.

Kagome walked over to her seat and sat down. She looked down at her plate. She could feel everyone's eyes on her. She blushed.

"Kagome you look lovely. It seems like I picked the right outfit." Hojo said and took Kagome's hand and kissed it.

She took her hand back as if he'd burned her. He smiled. She could hear Inuyasha's growl. She wondered why he hadn't done anything yet.

"Now you are probably all wondering why you are all here, well everyone except Kagome. She knows why she's here."

"What are you talking about?" Kagome said. "I don't know why I'm here or what you're planning."

"Well I'll explain then. As I've said before Kagome is my mate. Although Inuyasha claimed her first I will still have her."

"You can't have her." Inuyasha yelled. He couldn't take it anymore he lunged at Hojo and when he jumped out of his chair to avoid getting slashed Inuyasha grabbed Kagome. He hugged her to him and jumped back near his friends.

"Are you ok? Are you hurt? Did he touch you? What did he do?" Inuyasha asked.

"Inuyasha watch out!" Sango yelled why diving out of the way.

Inuyasha saw a ball of light coming towards them and jumped in the air with Kagome just in time.

"Get your hands off my mate." Hojo said. His eyes were red.

"She's not yours. Kagome stand behind Miroku and Sango." Kagome nodded and did what she was told.

Inuyasha pulled out the tetsusaiga and held it in front of him. "You have no idea how long I've been waiting for a chance like this."

Inuyasha ran towards him and swung. Hojo jumped out of the way. Inuyasha chased after him with tetsusaiga. They were running all over the room on top of tables off of walls anything.

Sango and Miroku watched as the chasing went on. They were waiting for a chance to hit Hojo. Shippo was in Kagome's arms. Kagome watched the fight in fright. She didn't know what was going to happen.

Kagome couldn't do much. She couldn't use her miko powers and she couldn't move much with the dress on. She was also in heels and that didn't help the situation at all/

Inuyasha slashed at Hojo and missed once again. But to Inuyasha's surprise he turned around and hit him. Inuyasha fell to the ground. He touched his shoulder. It was bleeding.

The wound wasn't fatal or anything so he got up and attacked Hojo again using his blades of blood attack.

"Hijin Tessou."

The blades hit Hojo in the shoulder and his left arm. It wasn't much but at least he was able to do some damage to him. Hojo turned to him and said.

"You've managed to hit me. You're not as weak as I thought you were. It seems mating with Kagome has made you stronger."

Inuyasha thought about it. He did feel stronger. A fall like he just had would usually stun him for a second or two but he was able to get up like it was nothing. His wound didn't even hurt.

Inuyasha smirked knowing he was a little stronger and headed for Hojo again. They were trying to hit each other. Neither of them were succeeding in hitting the other.

Sango and Miroku couldn't do anything but watch. They couldn't attack Hojo without the chance of hitting Inuyasha. Kagome didn't know what to do either. She couldn't use her miko powers so she was useless.

Shippo just watched from his position in Kagome's arms. He obviously couldn't do anything he was just a kid. Even if he could do anything no one would let him. Right now it was too dangerous for anyone to jump in.

Inuyasha was trying to think of a way to bring Hojo down. He was strong and he was fast. Not as fast as Kouga but fast enough to dodge his attacks. He also had pretty good reflexes.

He took a glance at the others to see if they were ok. He looked behind Kagome and he could see a whole bunch of youkai trying to sneak up behind them.

"Look out behind you." Inuyasha yelled. He ran towards them. Sango and Miroku jumped on Kirara while Inuyasha grabbed Kagome and Shippo. They all went outside to what appeared to be a garden.

They looked back. Hojo was coming with youkai following close behind him. Sango and Miroku jumped off Kirara and readied themselves to attack. Inuyasha put Kagome down and faced Hojo.

They were glaring at each other now. So far they had been evenly matched but now that there were youkai around he would be distracted. If youkai were around that meant Kagome was in danger as well as the rest of the gang.

Kagome didn't know what to do. She didn't have any weapons and some of the youkai had shards. Sango and Miroku could fight but there were too many youkai to fight all at once and these youkai looked like they didn't play fair.

"Sango, Miroku some of the youkai have shards." Kagome yelled. Then a youkai headed toward Sango. It had a shard in its left arm. "Sango that youkai has a shard in its left arm."

Sango heard Kagome and threw her weapon at it slicing off its arm. The shard fell to the ground. She picked it up and threw it to Kagome before attacking more youkai.

Kagome caught the shard. Her body tingled when she held it in her hand. It felt as her power was coming back. Like the exhaustion wouldn't affect her powers now. She still didn't have a weapon.

Usually she would have her bow and arrows. She watched as Miroku got hit in the arm. "Miroku." She yelled. He turned around and smiled at her letting her know she was all right.

Kagome closed her eyes. What could she do? How could she help the others? Then suddenly a thought came to her mind. She didn't know where it came from but if it worked everyone might make it out of this battle alive.

She put Shippo down and told him to stay there no matter what. She walked in front of Sango and Miroku facing the youkai.

"Kagome!" Sango and Miroku yelled.

Inuyasha saw this and looked at Kagome. He thought she was hurt. She was standing there with her eyes closed. `What the fuck? Is she nuts?' he thought.

Kagome held her hands out as if she had a bow and pulled her hand that would be holding the arrow back. She opened her eyes and as soon as she did blue light took the form of a bow and arrow in her hands.

She released the blue arrow and about five youkai were taken down in an instant. Everyone looked at her even Hojo. They didn't think she could make a bow and arrow out of her miko energy.

The look on Kagome's face said she didn't know it either. Now Inuyasha wouldn't be so worried. He turned to Hojo and took the chance to hit him while he was distracted. Hojo was thrown back and hit the wall of his house. He made a hole.

Hojo got up and climbed through the whole that was just made and looked at Inuyasha. He really was strong. It seemed he would have to use his secret weapon. He raised his arm and a light came out of his finger.

The light shot out up straight into the sky but that was all it did. He stopped and lowered his arm. He attacked Inuyasha again.

Kagome was behind Sango and Miroku. They didn't want to hit Kagome with any of their weapons by accident.

Kagome felt the presence of someone behind her. She looked and gasped.

Sango looked back at Kagome to see if she was holding out ok. "Kagome!"

Everyone turned to Kagome. They all gasped. They couldn't believe it. Kagome was being held back with a dagger to her neck. The person who was holding the dagger was…

"Kikyo."
