Chapter 3 - The party and the bitch

 

“Sorry to leave you like this guys” said Kagome as the group walked towards the well

“Its ok” said Miroku “We don't have any leads on Naraku anyway”

“I'll be back in 5 days Inu Yasha. Don't come after me”

“Yeah whatever”

Kagome sighed as she jumped down the well. Inu Yasha wouldn't listen anyway. She climbed out of the well.

“I'm home” said Kagome, running into the house eager to have a shower.

She dumped her bag on the floor and ran up to the shower. After turning on the hot water she got undressed. She thanked the kamis as she stepped into the shower and turned on the cold water a bit so she wouldn't get burned. After her relaxing shower she wrapped a towel around herself and walked to her bedroom. She got changed into a blue sundress and dried her hair.

“Kagome dear?”

“Yes mama?” yelled Kagome

“Will you be going to this party?”

“Huh? What party?”

“This Tatsuyoshi's. I found the invitation in your bag while I was cleaning it out”

Shit, thought Kagome, I completely forgot. And the party was a couple of days away too.

“I guess so mama”

“We'll we're going to have to go shopping then. It says traditionaly dress and I don't have any good kimonos I could lend you”

“Don't worry about it mama”

“Well what about getting him a present?”

“Oh yeah. Ok mama I'll be down in a second then we can go”

Kagome walked downstairs.

“So who's Tatsuyoshi?” asked Souta

“He's the guy who's been tutoring me”

“Why haven't you mentioned him before Kagome? We're going to have to get him something special for helping you out”

Kagome looked around the shopping center, looking for a gift for Tatsuyoshi.

“Seen anything you think he'd like?”

“Not really. Hang on a second”

Kagome ran over to a store selling kimonos. It might have just been a trick of her eyes.... no it was definitely real. She picked up the kimono. It looked just like the one Sesshomaru wore.

“That's a beautiful kimono” said her mother

“I think he'll like it”

`Looking for something in particular?” asked the black haired woman at the counter

“Found it already”

She paid for it as well as for a long green obi. Satisfied with her purchase they started the long walk home.

“Kagome dear why didn't you tell me you were getting tutoring?”

“It sorta slipped my mind”

“I take it the reason you're late home is because you're studying”

“Yeah”

“Oh well as long as you're passing”

“Kagome are you ready?”

“Almost mama” said Kagome as she fixed her hair.

“Well you better hurry up. The taxi is waiting”

“Coming mama” said Kagome as she started walking downstairs.

“How do I look?” asked Kagome as she entered the kitchen, wearing miko clothing she had forgotten to return to Kaede.

“You like a repsectable shrine priestess” said Ojii-san

“You look beautiful dear. Now hurry up. You don't want to be late” said her mother, pushing Tatsuyoshi's wrapped present into her hands.

Kagome walked down the shrine steps and hopped into the taxi. After giving the driver the address she stared outside the window. She watched as the houses grew further apart. She'd never seen this part of Tokyo before. She gasped as the taxi pulled up outside a set of large cast iron gates. The gates swung open as Kagome stepped out of the taxi. She walked up the driveway nervously. She knocked on the door. While she waited she looked around, admiring the western architecture and the pillars.

“Hello Kagome” said Yuka as she opened the door.

She was dressed in a simple blue kimono.

“Heya Kags” said Tatsuyoshi as he hugged Yuka from behind

Kagome gasped. Wearing a black hitoe and hakama, he looked disturbingly similar to Inu Yasha.

“Welcome to my home. You'd better follow me and Yuka. I need to talk to you both before I let you mingle”

He led them inside down a hallway filled with paintings. Kagome looked around in amazement as she entered a large white room. She could hear the faint sound of music and voices.

“Right before we get to the party I need to tell you two a few things. You two are the only non demons here so bear that in mind. Also I'm highly respected amongst the demon community so please don't embarress me”

“I won't Tatsu-kun” said Yuka kissing him on the cheek with a giggle

“I'm sure we won't” said Kagome

“Um why is Kagome here?” asked Yuka, glaring at her a little

“Kagome is a miko. She could sense that I was a demon. I brought her coz you and her are the only humans I trust”

Yuka blushed and nervously drew circles on his chest.

“You trust me alot?”

“Yes”

Yuka laughed and kissed him quickly.

“Umm Tatsuyoshi I got you a birthday present” said Kagome nervously, not wanting to upset the couple.

“Thankyou” said Tatsuyoshi, taking the gift with both hands

He unwrapped it slowly then hugged Kagome.

“Thankyou. Finally a reason to get out of these traditional clothes” he told her

He started towards the door. He turned and looked back at the women.

“Just head towards the noise and mingle. Have fun”

Tatsuyoshi walked off.

“Shall we go?” asked Yuka

“Yeah”

“So what do you and Tatsuyoshi do after school everyday?”

“Oh he helps me out with my school work”

“Oh I see”

“You sound jealous”

“I'm not jealous”

“Why don't you join us? Maybe he can help you out”

“I might do that Kagome” said Yuka with a relieved laugh

Kagome and Yuka had stepped into what appeared to be a large ballroom. The room was white, like the rest of the house, with long red curtains every few meters or so. Several long tabes were place against each wall, piled high with food. The room was filled with demons.

“Are they all demons?” asked Yuka, looking frightened

“Yeah” said Kagome “Every single one”

“Hello there” said a familiar black haired woman dressed in a pale blue kimono

“You! I bought his preset from you” said Kagome

“Hi I'm Nana” she said offering Kagome her hand

Kagome took it and shook it.

“I'm sorry who exactly are you?” asked Yuka

“I'm Tatsuyoshi's bitch”
