Author's note: Hello me here again. Finally chapter 4. I'm sorry about not being very descriptive with the way I'm writing this. I can see in my head what's happening in the story but writing it down... well lets just say I'm trying my hardest but it doesn't seem to be working out.

 

Chapter 4 - The Elder

 

“You're what?” asked Yuka incredulously

“Oh god I'm sorry. I didn't mean to confuse you. I'm his mother”

“His mother? You don't look old enough”

She burst out in laughter

“Dear I assure you I am old, even for a demon”

“How old exactly is Tatsuyoshi?”

“200. He's lucky to be that old considering all the trouble he gets himself into”

“Trouble?”

“Wars and stuff. Plus all the time he spends chasing after women”

“Mother you better not be boring them to death with one of your tall tales”

They all turned to face Tatsuyoshi. Kagome almost had a heart attack. Wearing the kimono and obi Kagome had given him and white hakama pants, as well as armour, he looked just like Sesshomaru. He had even let his hair down.

“Tatsu-kun where are your doggy ears?”

“Oh those. Tatsuyoshi pulled back his hair revealing pointed human like ears”

“Tatsu-kun?”

“I prefer my ears to appear like dog ears but this is a formal occasion so I have to show my true appearance” he said, making a disgusted face

“Tatsuyoshi you need to stop messing around with the humans”

Tatsuyoshi muttered something in German. His mother threw her hands in the air and strode off, cursing under her breath.

“Mr Tatsuyoshi this is for you” said an imp like demon, giving him a letter before hurrying away

Tatsuyoshi tore open the letter and smiled.

“Everyone I need silence!” called out Tatsuyoshi

A few people quietened.

“Oi. Shut the fuck up. The birthday boy wants to make a speech” said a short dog demon, dressed up in clothes similar to Tatsuyoshi.

The whole room went quiet.

“Thankyou Haaku” said Tatsuyoshi with a small laugh “I have a small announcement. Dear Lord Tatsuyoshi. As you know today is your 200th birthday. As you also probably know this means you are officially an Elder. Thus we are now able to recognise your title as the new Lord Cerberus”

Everyone in the room cheered and clapped, except for Kagome and Yuka, who looked around confused.

“Ok time to get this party started people” yelled Tatsuyoshi

There was more cheering as the music started.

“Elder?” asked Yuka. “Lord Cerberus?”

“Ranks. The demon council of 1829 decided that when a demon reached 200 hundred years of age they would become an Elder. My father was the previous Lord Cerberus. Now that I'm an Elder I can now use the title Lord Cerberus”

“What's Cerberus?” asked Kagome

“Cerberus was the three headed dog that guarded the gates to hell, according to Greek Mythology” said Yuka

Kagome stared at her.

“Tatsu lent me a book about it” she said nervously

“Cerberus was a demon” said Haaku, coming over to them, a tray of food in his hand. “He was three headed when in his demon form, but when he chose to assume his human form he looked like Tatsuyoshi”

Kagome and Yuka stared.

“At least that's how the stories go. Tatsuyoshi is the 17th Lord Cerberus. The line has contiued through marriage with other dog demons. While not as powerful as the original Lord Cerberus, Lord Tatsuyoshi maintains the prestige of the title to the best of his ability. Would you care for something to eat?” he continued, offering the plate to Kagome and Yuka

“Thankyou” said Kagome and Yuka, taking a party pie each.

“Haaku has Tatsuyoshi been with many mortal women in the past?” asked Yuka

Haaku looked down at the spotless tiled floor.

“Its not my place to say. Tatsuyoshi will tell you when the time's right”

“What about Tatsuyoshi's father? Where is he?”

“I'm sorry I've probably already said far too much. I'll leave you be”

 

A week after the party

“Kagome?” called out Tatsuyoshi as he wandered around the Higurashi shrine, dressed in same clothes he had worn at his birthday party.

“Heya” said Souta “Are you looking for Kagome?”

“Yeah. I was told she had chicken pox and I thought she'd like help catching up on her school work”

“She's not here right now”

“I see”

Tatsuyoshi wandered off, sniffing the air, hoping he would find out where Kagome had gone by following her scent. He followed her smell into the well shrine.

“In the well?” wondered Tatsuyoshi

“Meow”

Tatsuyoshi started and fell down the well head first. His head hit the bottom and he blacked out.

 

“He's a demon and we should just kill it”

“But he was found in the Bone Eaters Well. Maybe he is like Lady Kagome”

Tatsuyoshi slowly opened his eyes

“Be careful. He is waking”

“”Leave him be” said Kaede “He is no threat”

“I wouldn't say that Lady Miko” he replied standing up slowly.

He staggered slightly.

“You took quite a bump to the head. You shouldn't be up”

“I'm well enough to travel. It'll take more than a fall to stop me”

 

“Naraku this time you're going down” yelled Inu Yasha

They had finally cornered Naraku deep in Inu Yasha's forest. To their surprise he was completely alone.

“Adamant Barrage!” shouted Inu Yasha, swinging Tetsusaiga

Naraku easily batted aside the diamond spears that flew towards him.

“Pitiful half demon. Your tricks won't work on me”

“Oh yeah? Wind Scar”

Naraku laughed as it was absorbed by his shield.

A Kirara sized dog came out of the forest and sent Naraku flying.

“What?!” yelled Naraku as he stood

`You'll not touch Kagome” snarled the dog

“How dare you interfere demon?”

“I'll interfere as much as I like” said the dog as it transformed into Tatsuyoshi

“Tatsuyoshi?” yelled Kagome

“I think its time for you to die half demon” yelled Tatsuyoshi, leaping at Naraku

His claws tore straight through Naraku's shield and into his body.

“Dammit” said Naraku as he disappeared. “We'll meet again demon”

“Count on it”

“What do you think you're doing?” yelled Inu Yasha, getting in Tatsuyoshi's face

“I was trying to defeat that half demon but he didn't feel like hanging around”

“You shouldn't have bothered. I was about to finish him off”

“Finish him off? You didn't do any damage”

“Why you little!”

Sango laughed.

Inu Yasha and Tatsuyoshi looked up from strangling and hitting each other

“Did she just?”

“I think she did”

SMACK SMACK

Inu Yasha and Tatsuyoshi both hit Miroku

“What on earth are you hitting me for?”

“Do I need a reason monk?”

“I was talking about the other one”

“I dunno”

“What on earth earth are you doing here Tatsu?” yelled Kagome

“I was following your scent and I accidentally fell down the well”

“You what?!”

“Your grandfather said you had chicken pox. I thought you might be home. I was going to help you catch up on the school work you missed. I guess that can wait”

Tatsuyoshi turned and started walking away.

“Hang on a second”

Tatsuyoshi turned slightly

“Aren't you going to ask any questions? I mean you fell down a well and you appeared in god knows where”

“But I know where I am. My granparents told me all about the well and the girl who came from the future”

“Your grandparents? Do I know them?”

“I'm pretty sure you know my grandfather”

“Who is he?” asked Shippou, jumping on top of Tatsuyoshi's head

“Aah but that's a secret” he said with a wink
