“That's What I Get,” by Nine Inch Nails
It was morning. Kagome woke up from dreaming InuYasha holding her. It was a very good dream. She smiled and wiped off the drool that was descending from the corner of her mouth.
She went to her phone and called Sango. Sango picked up on the third ring.
“Hello?”
“Hi Sango! It's Kagome. So…did you call Miroku?”
“That's none of your business if I called him or not!”
Kagome giggled. Sango can be seen right through. “You called him…”
Sango narrowed her eyes. “Whatever.”
Kagome started laughing. She knew her cousin was getting mad, but she can fall into anything that it was hilarious.
“Oh, Miroku did tell me that their next few concerts are going to be on the Internet,” said Sango.
“Ha! You did talk to him!” said Kagome, feeling proud of herself that she was right.
Sango sighed.
“That's pretty cool that their concert is going to be on the Internet. I guess they have that much money to do it,” Kagome continued, “What site would it be on?”
“It's going to be on their own site,” answered Sango.
“When will it be played?”
“They're actually going to be playing tonight in Massachusetts at seven o'clock.”
Kagome looked at the time. It was almost twelve. So it was going to start in seven hours. That's too long of a wait!
“Well, I'm going to go and do a project for English class. I'll talk to you later,” said Sango and hung up.
During the afternoon, Kagome cleaned the house for her mom. Her mom was busy taking care of Kagome's grandpa. Doing the house cleaning helped pass the time.
When it was five till seven, Sango walked into her room. She smiled at Kagome. Kagome already had her laptop on her bed with the site the concert was going to be on.
The girls relaxed on the bed. They had popcorn and soda. The cousins saw Rin walking across the stage to get the fans pumped for the band. Then, she screamed out the band. The instruments started beating to a song. The fans were going crazy. They screamed out InuYasha's name and they could faintly see bras and whatnot being thrown onto the stage.
Then they saw InuYasha being raised to the stage. The drums and the synthesizer were beating to the rhythm.
“just when everything was making sense.
you took away all my self-confidence.
now all that i've been hearing must be true.
i guess i'm not the only boy for you.”

i guess i'm not the only boy for you.”
InuYasha was grinding against the microphone stand while he was singing to the mic that was in his hand. The girls were going crazy and flashing him. Kagome felt a pelt of jealousy hitting against her chest.
”but that's what i get
that's what i get
that's what i get
that's what i get”
”but that's what i get
that's what i get
that's what i get
that's what i get”
He walked to the girls and started to flirt with the girls.
“Oh my kami…he's acting like Miroku!” said Sango.
Kagome could see the girls reaching out for him.
”how could you turn us into this?
after you just taught me how to kiss you.
i told you i'd never say goodbye.
i'm slipping on the tears you made me cry.”

InuYasha walked to Miroku and was singing to him. Then he stood behind him and acted like he was grinding on him. Miroku just kept on playing on his guitar. Every now and then he would look at InuYasha and smirk.
”but that's what i get.
that's what i get.
that's what i get.
that's what i get.
for trusting you.
that's what i get.”

He went back to the microphone stand and just stood there singing. He would gaze to the crowd and flirt with them. He would shake his hips slowly. He would lick his lips and the crowd would go nuts.
Shippo would shake his head.
”why does it come as a surprise.
to think that i was so naive.
maybe didn't mean too much.
but it meant everything to me.”

For the other performances, he would act the same. After the last song, the camera was on him. He hazed into it and Kagome could see his lips saying, `Call me.' Then it went blank.
“Well…that was interesting…I think I'll go. I'll see you later Kagome,” said Sango. Kagome knew she was going to call Miroku in a little while like she was going to call InuYasha.
A few minutes passed and she called InuYasha.
“Hello love,” said InuYasha.
Kagome blushed. “Hi.”
“What did you think of the performance?” he asked.
“Um…wow…that was out of character for you. Did Miroku help you?” Kagome asked.
InuYasha flinched slightly. “Well, I wanted to do something different. The audience loved it…and Miroku did help me a little.”
There was a pause.
“I miss you.”
Kagome blushed. Did she just hear correctly? Did he just say he missed her? Sure it wasn't an `I love you,' but a `I miss you' can mean the same thing. That coming from InuYasha is big considering what he went through this pass year.
She smiled. “I miss you too InuYasha.”
