Around the World

They walked into the house and took off their shoos at the entrance. Kagome took the bag containing Sango’s dress from her.

“Make your selves comfortable.” Kagome said as they entered the living room. “I’m gonna go put your dress away in the closet, I’ll be right back.” she said to Sango heading up the stairs to her room.

As she reached the door to her room she slowed her hurried pace. She turned the knob and walked in.

“How did he know about me?” Kagome thought to herself. “I mean my sent and all…. Did Sesshomaru tell him my sent?” She opened the closet door and placed the gown on the rack. “How did her get here?” She asked out loud. She then shut the closet door and made her way back downstairs to the living room.

Sango and Ronin had seated themselves on opposite couches. Both facing one another. Kagome felt a bit awkward walking into the room. She took her place next to Sango on the couch.

“So…” she began.

“You have some questions for me?” Ronin asked in a maker-of-fact way. She looked at her hands.

“Well, yes.” she paused for a moment, “how did you get here first of all?”

“Simple I followed the hanyu down the well. It was really odd. I noticed at once that things were different. The smell most of all. Though Sesshomaru had told me that you lived in some strange village. I at once looked around for the right clothing, though that was a bit of a problem.. I had to first find some place that sold the cloths and then persuade the man to let me have them.” He continued telling them the story about what he had to do in order to buy the cloths.

**Flash back**

“ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!! You can’t use this money!! It’s worthless to me!!”

“But sir, are you sure I can not use this money? Is there someway I can trade with you?” Ronin asked the angry sales man.

“TRADE!! WHY WOULD I TRADE WHEN I HAVE IT FOR SALE!!??”

“I’m sorry, I wasn’t aware that this money was of no value. Is there someplace else I might look that will except this?”

“Son,” said the sales man with a chuckle, “I don’t this you’ll find any place that would take that worthless cash.”

“What if I give you this instead of money?” Ronin pulled out a medium size piece of gold from his pocket.

“And what is that? A gold painted rock? Get out of my store!”

“NO Sir! It’s pure 24 karat gold. You could have it checked yourself if you like. I’m sure it’s worth more than the cost of these items.” Ronin said with a persuasive voice. The man started to consider it. Ronin used one of his demon abilities. He reached into the man’s mind using the persuasion and made the man feel there was nothing to consider. He would take the gold for sure and he wouldn’t have to worry about standing out.

“Real, 24 karat gold?”

“Real 24 karat gold. Probably worth 200 yen. Maybe more!” he said in his silky soft voice.

“Well… 200 yen?”

“Maybe more.”

“Take the cloths!” the man said taking the gold. “Go on!” he handed him the bag of cloths.

**End Flash Back**

Both Kagome and Sango had the same question on their minds.

“How did you manage to find the store, buy the right cloths and not be so noticeable?” asked Sango.

“Well it wasn’t easy. I had to follow the crowd. Then I had to find the right type of store. Though it did help that I had a concealing charm and had taken off my armor right after seeing the people around here. By the way, that’s in your well house.” He said casually enough to wear you would have thought that he was just talking about what show he likes be on T.V.

“Charm? How did you get that?!” asked Kagome.

“Oh! Well between Gin and Takara they managed to make one for all of us. It helps us blend in around people. Though we still have many characteristics. We can still look like demons but not as bad as our regular human form. It helps to hid things such as wing, tails, abnormal sink and such. That way we don’t scare humans that much. We like to mingle once in a while with them to buy things such as cloth and stuff, though keep in mind we don’t do this often. Normally we just go as is in our human form.” he tried to explain to them.

“But how did they manage to make something such as that?!” asked Kagome once again.

“Well between a Sphinx and a Dragon, you have a lot of knowledge. They some how came up with a way to create a charm to wear around your neck that can hide it from the human eye. Though some monks and minkos can see through it.”

“I wonder why you didn’t see Kagome.” wondered Sango out loud resting her head on her fist.

“She just probably didn’t expect it. Or maybe her powers aren’t as good as rumor has it.”

“HEY!”

“What maybe they aren’t.”

“Why are you here anyways?” asked Kagome. Another question that was plaguing their minds.

“Well… I really should wait for Inu-Yasha to talk about it.”

“Why what’s wrong!” asked Kagome worriedly.

“Nothing really. Actually I’m not too sure my self what’s really going on. All I know is that Sesshomaru wants you both to help him out in some situation. Don’t ask me what, but he insists that you come with me.”

“And why would we do that!!” asked Kagome in a frenzy. “Really know, Every time we meet one another they do nothing but fight. Sesshomaru is always after the Tetsigua, and if not then Inu-Yasha is ready to fight him to the death any ways. I mean really now. The only time they really agreed on something was when they defeated Naraku.”

“The Lord has be in a strange mood lately. He has been at ease more with us. I mean he is still our Lord but he has eased up a bit from before. He seams almost happy in a way. It’s nice for there to be a change around the palace.” Ronin said in a voice that sounded like he was far away in thought.

“SO he wants Inuyasha and I to meet him at his palace?”

“Yeah. Nothing else to tell you I’m afraid.”

“Inuyasha wont like the sound of that Kagome.”

“I know Sango, I know. By the way.. where is Inuyasha anyway?” The two girls looked over at Ronin.

“Where’d he go Ronin?” Kagome asked in an accusing voice.

“Don’t look at me, I just followed him through the well, I don’t even think he knows I was right behind him. When I got out of the well- as confused as I was- I never saw him again.”

Kagome heard the back door in the kitchen slide open. And then a rambling if the pots from the under cabinet next to the stove. Next the water was turned on. This all happened at once and it was amazing that Kagome could make out one sound from another. The first word that came to mind.

“Inuyasha” Kagome got up from the couch. “Be right back guys.” She made her way into the kitchen to find the culprit. And Sure enough, Inuyasha was standing there starting the stove. A big grocery store bag sitting on the counter. Inuyasha turned around after lighting the stove. Apparently he had heard her come in.

He gave her an innocent look, “What?! I came back and what do I find? NO Ramen!” he said throwing his hands in the air. The only thing Kagome could do was to hang her head down in shame.

“Always thinking of nothing else but that damn ramen.” she thought. “So.. You managed to change into some cloths, and get out the door, and have the proper money, and find the store, and buy your ramen? All after coming home?”

“Yep!” Inuyasha said with a smile.

“You didn’t bother staying home and making sure Sango and I got home first and make sure that you didn’t go out on your own in my era?!” Kagome started to get some what furious.

“In knew you’d be fine, besides what’s with not having ramen around the house?! You ran out back home and now here too!”

“Inuyasha Osuwari!”

Back in the living room you could hear Inuyasha’s head hit the hard cement, along with a series of mumbled curses.

“I wonder what he did this time.” said Sango.

~ LATER~

The four of them were seated in the living room now. Inuyasha’s roman in hand. Ronin started to tell his story once again for Inuyasha. Though Inuyasha was a bit better tempered than usual due to the ramen.

“SO let me get this straight,” started Inuyasha, “My idiot of a half brother who’s so high and mighty wants Kagome and I to go to his palace and wont tell you why.”

“Yep.”

“The same brother who has tried to kill me numerous times in the past, is now inviting Kagome and I to his house?”

“Yep.”

“And you say he’s happy?!”

“Pretty much yeah.”

“He’s possessed. That’s the most logical explanation. Sesshomaru has never been happy.”

“Odd we all know, but what if it’s true Inuyasha? I mean what if Sesshomaru really has changed for the better?” asked Kagome.

“Well then there’s still the issue of why he wants us. I mean really now since when did he ever need our help?”

“Well, he did come to seek your help about 54 years ago. But you were sealed to a tree. And at the time Sesshomaru really needed your help. But-” Ronin was cut off by Inuyasha.

“HEY he’s never come to me for anything before! I’m surprised that he would have even come to my aid for that!”

“But he did help us destroy Naraku, and he didn’t kill Kohaku that one time when Rin’s life was in danger.” pointed out Sango.

“That’s only because Kohaku wanted to die. There was no fun in it for him.” Inuyasha said putting down his empty bowl and folding his arms. “Plus Naraku was on his bad side as well, not only giving him a bad arm that nearly cost him his life, but he also took and threatened Rin’s life. SO he was ready to kill that bastard anyways.”

“Inuyasha, we should go see him.” said Kagome.

“NO!” shouted the over tempered hanyu.

“Ronin?” Kagome turned her attention over to him.

“Yes?”

“Is it possible for you to go back to Sesshomaru with a message asking what the occasion is? I mean he doesn’t have to tell you everything, just a brief reason why he has called on us to come to his palace.” asked Kagome.

“It would be logical for him to have done so before, so I don’t think it would be too bad to ask it of him.” put in Sango.

“I’m not sure…” said Ronin.

“You can at least tell him that we wouldn’t come alone, that the others would be with us. That is, unless we dub it ok to go alone if it’s something very privet. We must know why we are going in order to leave them behind. If we have any worries we wont be going alone. Sesshomaru must know that.” stated Kagome with a finality in her words.

“Well, if that’s the only way you’ll come I’ll relay the message to him. He might not be happy about it but-” he was cut of by Inuyasha again.

“If he wanted us to badly why didn’t he get off his lazy ass in the first place and come find us?” Inuyasha said rudely.

“Inuyasha!” shouted Kagome in dislike of his tone.

“What? I mean really now. He has always come on his own, he never sent anyone else to find us.”

“He’s tied up in Politics right now. The Wolf Tribe of the North is having some fit about a mating situation and is asking Sesshomaru to fix it.”

“Mating situation? Sesshomaru has no daughter nor son, why the hell do they want him to fix it? It’s their own god damn problem.” stated Inuyasha.

“Wolf tribe?” said Kagome under her breath.

“Kagome are you think what I’m thinking?” asked Sango in a whisper. There was a short silence between the two girls.

“Koga.” Kagome whispered back. They both nodded their heads.
