CHAPTER 14
The next morning Kagome got up and walked outside of the hut and over to a tree. She looked up and saw Inuyasha sitting up in the tree looking into the sky. It looked like he was deep in thought so she walked over to where Shippo and Kirara where playing in the grass. Kirara was pawing at a grasshopper and Shippo was cheering Kirara on.“Yea you go Kirara! Kill that grasshopper! Come on you can do it!” Shippo yelled in excitement.Kagome just smiled happy to see that they where enjoying themselves. Kagome then walked over to see what Sango was up to. She was over on a hillside sitting by Miroku talking to him. Kagome watched from a distance.“Sango you look very pretty today.” Miroku said in a sweet voice.Sango just blushed.“He’s at it again, I just know it!” Kagome thought to herself.Sango was blushing so much that she turned around with her back to Miroku. And of course Miroku couldn’t help himself…”SMACK!” Sango turned around and slapped Miroku on the face.“Oh boy….” Kagome thought.She then walked back to the hut and saw that Inuyasha was in there waiting for her. All she could do was smile.“Kagome has your voice gotten any better yet?” Inuyasha asked.Kagome shook her head in an unhappy way.“Oh, well that’s ok. Its not your fault that you are sick.” Inuyasha said forcing a smile on his face.“Wow. I didn’t expect him to say something like that. I would think that he would of told me to hurry up and get better.” Kagome thought to herself. Then she smiled at Inuyasha sat down. “Its nice of him to be patient with me.” About a week later Kagome was better. Inuyasha wasn’t too happy about having their search for Naraku and the jewel shards delayed, but he was kind about it.“Inuyasha!” Miroku said.“I know!” Inuyasha said. “We’re here” he thought.“Now what.” Kagome thought to herself as she gazed at the castle that laid ahead. “It’s a good thing we left Shippo at Kaede’s village.” Kagome said turning to Sango.“Yes it is.” Sango said. “This is it. Its now or never.” Sango thought to herself.“Well what are we all standing around here for! Lets go!” Inuyasha yelled.Kagome then got on Inuyasha’s back. Sango and Miroku hopped on top of Kirara. As they approached Naraku’s Castle Inuyasha saw that there was a barrier still there. Just like he saw before. So Inuyasha took out his Tetsuiga and slashed through the barrier. The others fallowed.“Now to find Naraku!” Inuyasha said.“Seems you have broken through my barrier Inuyasha.” Came Naraku’s voice from the castle.“Come out here and fight Naraku!” Inuyasha yelled taking out his sword.“Oh but wouldn’t it be funner if you fought Kanna and Kagura before you get to me.” Said Naraku.Just then Kanna and Kagura came out of the castle entrance. Kagura was the first one to attack with her dance of blades. Inuyasha jumped out of the way grabbing Kagome and setting her off to the side he thought she would be safe.“I am not gonna tell you to stay here, but be careful Kagome.” Inuyasha said as he put her down.“K.” Kagome said in a soft voice. “You be careful too Inuyasha.”“Don’t worry about me Kagome, I will be fine.” Inuyasha said as he got up and walked towards Kagura. “I’ll blast you with my backlash wave!” He yelled pointing his sword to Kagura.As Inuyasha was fighting Kagura, Sango and Miroku had to deal with Kanna.“I will suck your soul.” Kanna said in a little voice.“Not today!” Miroku yelled as he unleashed his wind tunnel.But just as he did Naraku’s poisonous insects came.“MIROKU! Close up your wind tunnel!!” Sango yelled. But it was too late. Miroku had already sucked up a good batch of the insects.“AHHHHHHH!!!” Miroku yelled in pain and fell to the ground.As he lay there unconscious Sango whipped out her boomerang and threw it at all the insects, killing them.“Now to suck up this monk’s soul.” Kanna said as she held up her mirror. “NO! MIROKU!” Sango screamed and whipped her boomerang at Kanna.But Kanna’s mirrior deflicted the boomerang come back at Sango. Sango screamed in pain and fell to the ground. Now Kagome herd this scream and went running towards Sango.“Sango!” Kagome yelled.There was no answer.“SANGO!” Kagome yelled again.Still no answer. This made Kagome mad. She took out an arrow. Not knowing where Kanna went to she started looking around for Miroku.“Where is he?” She asked herself.Kanna had taken Mirkou closer to the castle and started to suck his soul into her mirror. Just as she was getting the last bits of his soul Kagome found them. She took out her arrow and shot directly into Kanna’s mirror causing it to sadder.“You broke my mirror.” Kanna said.Kagome just stared at Kanna. Then she started to draw another arrow, but Kanna was gone.“Miroku!” Kagome yelled.Miroku’s soul was back in his body but he was still poisoned.“K…Kagome?” Miroku mumbled opening his eyes just a bit.“Can you walk?” Kagome asked grabbing his arm.“Yes…I can.” Miroku said trying to smile.“Go and get Sango! I have to help Inuyasha!” Kagome yelled as she started running for the other side of the castle.
Inuyasha and Kagura where still fighting. But there was something different about this fight, Kagura wasn’t trying to hit Inuyasha with her wind.“What is she up to?” Kagome wondered.“Whats going on Kagura!” Inuyasha yelled. “You aren’t even trying to hit me!”“He is right. I’m not trying to hit him, because you Inuyasha are my last chance.” Kagura thought to herself. “You are boring me!” She yelled and got on one of her giant feathers and left.“HEY! Come back here and fight!” Inuyasha yelled.“Free me. Free me from him Inuyasha.” Kagura said as she flew away.“Huh?” Inuyasha said. “What does she mean?” he thought.“Inuyasha!” Naraku’s voice came. “Its my turn.”“Good! Cause I have been wanting to fight you from the beginning!” Inuyasha yelled whipping out his sword. “I’m going to cut you to pieces!”Naraku then turned into a giant plant type thing. This was Naraku’s true form.“I will make you a new part of my body!” Naraku yelled as he whipped a plant root from his body at Inuyasha.The root wrapped around Inuyasha squeezing him. This made Inuyasha drop the Tetsuiga.“NO! Inuyasha cant be departed with the Tetsuiga!” Kagome yelled.Kagome ran over to get the Tetsuiga for Inuyasha, even if it meant risking her life. Naraku then whipped out another root and this one went for Kagome.“K..K…Kagome!!! Look out!” Inuyasha yelled as Naraku squeezed tighter on him.It was too late. The root wrapped around Kagome just as she picked up the Tetsuiga. Kagome screamed, because these roots where poisoned and it didn’t bother Inuyasha, because he had his rat skin red shirt on which protected him. But Kagome could feel the acid from the poison dissolving her cloths.“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH” Kagome was screaming her lungs out and crying at the same time.Tears strung down her face, blinded by her tears she couldn’t tell if Inuyasha was ok or not.“INUYASHA!!!” Kagome screamed.Inuyasha saw the whole thing. Kagome’s screams, the cloths being dissolved off her by the acid, and her last scream was for him. Kagome wasn’t dead though, but she didn’t have enough strength to talk, but she was still crying. Inuyasha could tell, because tears where still streaming down her face. He felt so mad and sad, because he had to watch her scream and cry and he couldn’t do a thing about it.“Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!” Naraku laughed. “She will be dead and a part of me in a matter of minutes!”“NO!” Inuyasha yelled. “I wont let her die again! She will NEVER become a part of your body!”Inuyasha was so mad. His eyes started to glow red. Kagome lifted her head with the last of her strength to see that Inuyasha had transformed. But something was different about this transformation, Inuyasha had control of himself. Not the demon in him.“Now DIE!” Inuyasha whipped his claws across the root around him and fell to the ground.His eyes still glowing red. Then Inuyasha turned to Kagome and ripped her free. Kagome fell to the ground with no strength to get up. Just then Inuyasha turned back to normal and his eyes stopped glowing red. Miroku came with Sango on his back. Sango was hurt badly but was still able to talk and move her head.“Kagome!” Sango yelled. “What happened?”“STAY BACK!” Inuyasha yelled. “I don’t want this to happen to you too! Miroku set Sango down somewhere safe and come and get Kagome!” Inuyasha screamed with anger.Miroku nodded and went over to put Sango down, far away from the castle. Inuyasha took off his red shirt and put it on Kagome. Kagome was still unable to move. Then Miroku came back and picked up Kagome. Then he ran off to where he left Sango.“NOW! Naraku! You will die!” Inuyahsa yelled and picked up the Tetsuiga.“We shall see about that!” Naraku said and whipped another root at him.Inuyasha dogged and used the wind scar. In doing so it ripped off all of Naraku’s root arms.“Now is the perfect time to use my backlash wave on him.” Inuyasha thought.But just as he was about to do so one of Naraku’s sliced roots slashed through Inuyasha’s gut. This didn’t do any damage to Inuyasha. Inuyasha laughed and pulled the root out of him.“You think a little root is going to kill me off?!?” Inuyasha yelled.Miroku was tending to Sango and Kagome. Kagome was still unable to move. She still had tears running down her face.“Inuyasha. Inuyasha!” Kagome thought.“Kagome, your feet are burned!” Miroku said in a worried voice.Kagome new that her feet and everywhere else on her body was burned from the acid.“There is a river not to far from here.” Miroku said. “I will take you two there.”Sango smiled. Kagome was still crying, but she was great full that Miroku would go to all this trouble just for Sango and her.Once they got to the river Miroku set Sango down and dipped Kagome into the cool river. This startled Kagome and she moved her eyes to Miroku’s.“This must be so confusing and heartbreaking for Kagome.” Miroku thought.Kagome’s body was cooling off now and she couldn’t feel much pain from the burns. Miroku left her sit in the shallow part of the river and he went over to tend to Sango’s wounds.“Is she still crying?” Sango asked as Miroku came to sit down.“Yeah.” Miroku sighed.“Yeah she is going through a lot now…we all are.” Sango said. “I believe that this is the final one Miroku. Its now or never.”“Yeah I know. I just hope Inuyasha doesn’t get himself killed.” Miroku said.Those words got Kagome’s attention. She looked up at Miroku and Sango. They where still talking about Naraku. Then Kagome started to cry again and got up.“Kagome! You should stay in the water and let your burns heal!” Miroku said.Kagome walked past them and towards the castle. Miroku got up and ran after her.“Inuyasha….I will die with you if you get killed by Naraku.” Kagome thought to herself.She started to run to the castle now. Even though running made the burns hurt Kagome didn’t care all she wanted to do was fight by Inuyasha’s side till the death! When Kagome reached the place where Inuyasha was fighting Naraku had Inuyasha in a root again. This time Inuyasha’s cloths where being burned off him from the acid, because he wasn’t wearing his rat skinned shirt. Kagome was.“INUYASHA!” Kagome screamed out.“K…K…AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!” Inuyasha screamed in pain as the acid started to burn through his skin.“This is the end Inuyasha!” Naraku laughed.Kagome grabbed her bow and arrows and shot one at the root that was holding Inuyasha. The arrow hit and the root blew up. Inuyasha fell to the ground. As he lye there unconscious Kagome drew another arrow and aimed for Naraku’s heart. Kagome shot the arrow and it hit directly into Naraku’s heart.“What! How did this happen!” Naraku yelled.Miroku finally reached the castle and saw that Kagome’s arrow was piercing through Naraku’s chest. Naraku was somehow paralyzed by the arrow and was unable to move. Finally the arrow went through Narku’s chest and through his heart.“NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!” Naraku screamed and then blew up in to millions of little pieces.With her last bit of strength Kagome crawled over to where the unconscious Inuyasha lay and fell over beside him.
Mrioku quickly looked at his right hand. Nothing was there.“I can’t believe it. She killed Naraku.” Miroku said.Miroku quickly got up and went to get Sango. Once he got back with Sango, Sango yelled for Kagome and Inuyasha. There was no answer.“Miroku are they dead?” Sango asked almost in tears.“I don’t know.” Miroku answered.Miroku then got up and went over to where Kagome and Inuyasha where laying. He saw that Kagome was still breathing and so was Inuyasha. They where just unconscious.“No they are still alive.” Miroku said smiling.Sango smiled back. Kirara then came out of no where.“Kirara! Where have you been?” Sango asked smiling. “Take Inuyasha and Kagome and follow Miroku and I ok. We are going to go back to Kaede’s village.
