Chapter 3:

~Look into my eyes; you will see what you mean to me. Search your heart, search your soul, and when you find me there you'll search no more. Don't tell me, It's not worth trying for, you can't tell me it's not worth dying for. You know it's true, everything I do I do it for you. ~

Kagome stared helplessly at the window her mate jumped out of only a few seconds earlier. Tears silently flowed down her cheeks, but could not stop to any avail, Kagome thought back onto the mess that happened, trying to figure what drove him off. What did he mean, "Make me think we had the house to ourselves?" Did something happen that I wasn't aware of, Wait a second had the house to ourselves, which must mean that Mom and Grandpa are back. Probably Souta to, oh I bet that annoying brother of mine looked in on us. That can be the only reason. He's dead when I get my hands on him. Kagome thought as she walked out of her room in search of her little brother.

Walking down the stairs, Kagome noticed her brother watching TV. He was very nervous, still she continued singing.

~ There's no love like your love, and no other could give more love. There's no way unless you're here, all the time, all the way. Oh you can't tell me, it's not worth trying for, I can't help it there's nothing I want more. ~

Noticing his sister and the "love" song she was singing, he figured that she and Inu-yasha had a fight.

Looking up from the TV, Souta asked Kagome if she was feeling all right.

" Souta, may I have a quick chat with you up stairs please?"

" Sure Kagome" I'm dead they figured it out. Souta thought as he walked up the stairs and into Kagome's bedroom. Looking around he asked Kagome where Inu-yasha was.

" No thanks to you he left to his own time, waiting for me when I've sorted through this mess you've made." Kagome told him anger in her voice.

" I don't understand… Kagome?" Souta asked as his sister sunk to her knees, sobs wracking her small frame.

" You walked in on us earlier didn't you"

"Yes" Souta said again

" Well thanks to you, Inu-yasha thinks that I have doubts about our relationship. I really need to get a lock installed on my door." Kagome said lightly

"Or just don't do it here." Souta smirked as he ran out of her door and down the hall.

"Souta!" Kagome yelled in mock surprise. Finally giving up on the chase, Kagome retreated back to her room, and proceeded to pack her bag. Silently trudging to the well, Kagome looked back at her house, sure that when she came back she would be different in many ways.

~ Yeah, would fight for you, I'd lie for you, walk the wire for you, yeah I'd die for you. You know it's true, everything I do I do it for you. ~

Arriving back into the past, Kagome was knocked over as a blur came running at top speeds towards her.

"Kagome you're back." Shippou called as he latched onto Inu-yasha's mate.

"Yes Shippou I am but I need to talk to Inu-yasha alone. Do you think you could occupy Sango and Mirkou for a while?" Kagome asked trying to keep the redness out of her face.

"Sure Kagome, but I'm doing this for your sake, not the half-breeds." Shippou told her matter of factly.

"Ok Shippou." Kagome told the kitsune cub as he ran off to Sango and Mirkou. When Shippou was out of sit Kagome walked back to the God tree where her mate proceeded to sit and watch the sun set. Kagome was half way up the tree when she suddenly lost her footing a fell a few feet before a clawed hand caught her. Lifting her up and placing her on the branch he was resting on, Inu-yasha carefully looked his mate over for any injuries. When he found none, her backed off a little.

" What are you doing here?" He asked straight to the point.

" What no `how are you', or `Are you okay'. Well I thought about it and I have no doubts, I never had. We just don't seem to have luck finding suitable places."

" You know I've always cared, I always will care. I am glad that there are no doubts between us, and that is was Souta's unmistaken timing that caught us off guard. Lets pray it does not happen again."

" He promised to help us next time we're at my place. Keep Mama and Gramps away, from our room." Kagome said smiling at the amused look on her mates face.

" Well then. Were is our next destination off to my Bitch?" Inu-yasha asked nipping slightly at her neck for empathies.

" Bitch?" Kagome asked

" Yeah." Inu-yasha looked at her puzzled

" I know what you meant, I just never thought I'd hear though words coming out of your mouth directed at me." Kagome told her mate

" Well, love, it's time you let that little thing called faith and trust work for you. Why don't we retreat to My Cabin?"

" You have a cabin?" Kagome exclaimed

" Yes but I only use it in the winter when I can't stand to be outside. To cold."

" Maybe you are human. At least on the inside you are." Kagome yelped as she was suddenly dropped out of the tree. Inu-yasha soon joined her on the ground the sunset long forgotten.
