“Kagome-sama?” Rin said softly. She opened the door and carried a tray of food in front of her. “Neither you nor Daiki-chan had eaten in two days.”
“I’ve been here for two days?” Kagome said glumly.
“Hai.” Rin confirmed.
Daiki squirmed and whimpered at the smell of food. Kagome knew how he felt. “Arigato, Rin-chan.” Rin let out a heavy breath. She smiled and placed the food besides Kagome. As she uncovered the food Kagome heard her humming the tune she would use to soothe Daiki. Kagome looked intently and the young woman. Then she closed her eyes.
‘You know her.’ Kagome said to herself. ‘Remember her, don’t force it.’ Kagome furrowed her brow and listened to the song. As if in a flash she saw the face of a crying little girl. She saw herself stroking her cheek and humming a song.
“Kagome-sama?” Rin pulled Kagome from her memory.
Kagome let out a breath she had been holding. Rin looked at her with worry in her eyes.
“Rin-chan?” Kagome sighed. “How do you remember me?”
Rin gave Kagome a wide smile. “You were the nicest, prettiest person I’ve ever met.” Rin said happily.
Kagome let a smile play across her face.
“Come out when your ready.” Rin said before leaving the room.
Daiki began grunting impatiently. Kagome reached for the goat meat, no doubt Sesshoumaru’s idea, and began feeding Daiki.
‘Yuck, it would be nice to have a bath.’ Kagome looked over to Daiki, who was sleeping soundly besides her. ‘You could go for one too young man.’
As if on cue, Kagome’s door slid open and Rin appeared.
“Good morning, Kagome-sama!” Rin said brightly. “I was just coming to wake you.”
“Good Morning, Rin-chan.” Kagome smiled. “How are you?”
Rin seemed distracted for a moment. She looked over to Daiki with a maternal smile. She turned back to Kagome. “Oh, I’m wonderful. But I bet you would like to get out of this room and into a nice bath.”
Kagome grinned at the girl perceptiveness. “Yes, please.” Rin went into the small closet and after a moment of shuffling, she pulled out a long, silk kimono. Kagome’s eyes lit up as she eyed the elegant garment. It was pink with deep purple floral patterns. The obi that went with it was also deep purple. Rin held the clothing over her arm and turned to Kagome.
“Yes, this would do just nicely.” Rin smiled. After all her fussing, Kagome didn’t have the heart to refuse the clothing.
“Kagome-sama, come with me. Your bath has been prepared.” Rin began to leave. Kagome picked Daiki up, effectively rousing him from his slumber. She didn’t want the water to shock him awake.
The halls of the castle were particularly nice. All around her was paintings and statues of inu youkai, no doubt ancestors of her host. Kagome didn’t expect such a beautiful bathing room. The morning sun peeked through a clouded window bathing the room in a soft glow. There was a large basin in the middle of the room. Kagome saw a least four people fitting in the tub. Kagome sighed happily. At least she would have freedom to move and enjoy herself. There was a small bench where she could put Daiki until she was undressed. She didn’t even see Rin leave.
Kagome felt a soothing rush of relaxation flow through her. Daiki also seemed to sigh with pleasure as his small body was engulfed in the water. Kagome put Daiki against her chest and closed her eyes, as she began humming her lullaby.
“Kagome-chan?” Kagome opened her eyes slowly. She was in a small spring. Across from her was a woman with despair in her eyes. From the corner of her eye, she saw a fluff of red fur. Kagome smiled and the woman smiled back. Kagome could see that something was on the woman’s mind. What was it, suddenly they both heard the snap of a twig and a gasp. The brown-eyed woman gave a flash of annoyance. She picked up the nearest rock and threw it forcefully into the darkness of the forest. “Hoshi-sama! You hentai!”
Kagome opened her eyes, slowly as if realizing something strange, she hesitantly parted her lips. “Sango.”
He was relieved to see her, to touch her. His mind was spinning and his heart pounding when he buried his face in her hair.
‘I never gave up, Kagome’ Inuyasha thought to himself. ‘Please, remember me.’ Inuyasha reached into his haori a pulled out the glowing sacred jewel. ‘That bastard, Naraku thought he was so smart.’ Inuyasha smiled smugly.
Inuyasha thought back to the day Kagome was taken. He opened his eyes and almost choked on the blood that filled his nose and throat. Besides him Sesshoumaru was struggling to control his youkai. He was covered head to toe in blood, just like Inuyasha. Neither Brother was fully aware of what was happening. Naraku was torn to shreds, and dead. The jewel he had in his hand didn’t disappear, even after the dragon took to the skies with Kagome in his clutches.
As soon as Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru was able to move they gave chase, only to find that Kagome had completely disappeared. Her scent, everything completely vanished.
Inuyasha shook himself from his thoughts. He didn’t know what Naraku wished for, but he knew the wish wasn’t enough to cast the jewel from the world. Inuyasha debated on whether or not making a wish himself. But it seemed he didn’t have to. Kagome’s memories were coming back on their own.
“Inuyasha?” A heavenly voice called from the bottom of the tree. Inuyasha was to deep in thought to realize that Kagome had came out to join him. Without hesitation Inuyasha jumped down gracefully to join the love of his life.
Kagome stared into Inuyasha golden orbs for a long moment. She smiled sadly and sat against the tree. Inuyasha looked puzzled for a moment when she broke their gaze. But he brushed it aside to sit besides her. Kagome giggled, when she saw Inuyasha flop down on all fours besides her.
‘He and Sesshoumaru are more different than I thought.’ Kagome smiled. ‘That could be a good thing.’
Kagome and Inuyasha sat under the tree for a long time without speaking. Occasionally Kagome would sense the eyes of the hanyou gazing down on her. Kagome remained silent. Something told her to just stay quiet. To enjoy the comfortable silence now. Before trying to recount the past. Kagome wondered why she could be so silent with him, so she just enjoyed his company. It seemed so right being there with him.
Kagome almost hated herself for breaking the silence to ask her favorite question. “Inuyasha, how do you remember me?” She was looking for something, anything to jog her memory. To find out more about the life she once had. Did she have family? A village she called home? Inuyasha shifted but didn’t respond at first. Kagome looked over to her companion. His hair was shorter than Sesshoumaru’s but just as nice. One thing that truly caught her interest was the two silky dog ears perched on the top of his head. She found them fascinating, much to her surprise. Daiki had tiny adorable ears just like Inuyasha. She thought back to nights she would rub the tiny ears, to sooth away his tears.
Kagome noticed that Inuyasha was tense. In the back of her mind she wondered if the same technique could be used on him. Kagome smiled as she made a decision. Inuyasha tensed a little more as Kagome shifted on the ground so that they were facing one another. Than slowly while keeping her eyes fixed on his. She lifted her hands and began lovingly stroking his ears.
Inuyasha’s eyes grew wide with shock. He felt his breath stop and his heart screamed for him to relax. There was no way it could take so much blood rushing to it at once. Kagome continued to smile sheepishly as a tint of pink flamed her cheeks. Inuyasha melted under her touch, and her deep, penetrating gaze. Kagome suddenly stopped, she was about pull away, when Inuyasha caught her by both wrists. Kagome didn’t move. Inuyasha pulled her arms so that they wrapped around his neck. Kagome’s cheeks flared darker as Inuyasha let her wrists go and ran his hands across her arms and down her sides until he was cupping her waist, pulling her closer.
Inuyasha growled low as he dipped head and pressed his lips against hers. Kagome was surprised at how natural it felt. With Sesshoumaru she was tense at first. But with Inuyasha she immediately molded into his body.
There was a flash: The hanyou was struggling with his own reflection. The moon goddess was chanting something Kagome could not understand. If she hesitated any longer her beloved hanyou would be lost to her forever. She was running to him. Trying to push the evil goddess power from his heart.
“I love you as I half demon, Inuyasha!” Had he heard her, he seemed to fight harder. Kagome didn’t know what else she could do. With flooded eyes she looked into Inuyasha’s tormented face. She stood on her toes and leaned in...
Kagome jumped from the kiss. Someone was crying, it took her a moment to realize where she was. Rin had stepped into the garden with Daiki in her arms. Kagome couldn’t look at Inuyasha. She stood and ran to take Daiki. Without looking back she retreated to the house. She never got her answer.
“Yes?” Kagome said impatiently.
The door opened and a kitsune stepped into the room. Perched on his shoulder was Sayuri. She flew from the kitsune’s shoulder to Kagome’s.
“Kagome-sama!” Sayuri squeaked. “Are you alright?”
Kagome feigned a small smile. “Of course Sayuri. But where have you been?”
Sayuri looked ashamed. She never told Kagome about the message Natsumi had sent her. “Forgive me, Kagome-sama. It went to Natsumi’s village. That is where I met the hanyou and kitsune.”
“Ah.” Kagome responded sans anger. “You must be Shippou.” Kagome said turning her attention to the silent Kitsune.
Shippou had waited for this moment for a long time. Everyday he would replay their reunion in his head. She would cry, he would not. After all he was a man, and men don’t cry. But standing there, seeing her sweet, and soft expression. Hearing her soothing voice...and that scent, how familiar it was.
Kagome could see the tears well in the boy’s eyes. She stood and knelled in front of him. Gently she wiped away a unruly tear that escaped his clutches. Shippou couldn’t stand it any longer. He threw his arms around her nearly knocking her back on the floor. Kagome wasn’t surprised this time, everyone from her past had been very affectionate. She let out a gasp at his words though.
“Mama! I’ve missed you so much.” Shippou cried.
‘He called me Mama.’ Kagome felt her own tears joining Shippou’s. Kagome closed her eyes and stroked his hair. She hummed the tune she no doubt sung to him years ago. She could hear his cries calm.
A small kitsune curled in her lap, he had been crying. He lost his Mother then his Father was taken. He felt so alone sometimes. Kagome soothed him to sleep. Just when she thought he was in deep sleep he spoke softly.
“Kagome?” The kitsune whimpered.
“Hm?”
“Will you be my Mother?” Kagome was shocked by the question. But her features softened as she lifted the kitsune in her arms and began rocking him. She placed a gentle kiss on his cheek.
“Goodnight, my son.” Kagome cooed.
The kitsune snuggled against her chest. “Goodnight Mama.”
Kagome was crying uncontrollably now. She held Shippou tight, unwilling to let go of that memory. That was how he remembered her, she didn’t have to ask. She already had her answer.
Kagome finally released Shippou and he reached up to wipe the tears from her eyes, she did the same for him. As if just remembering something, Shippo reached into his pelt and pulled out two small paper puppets.
“I thought you might want these back.” Shippou grinned.
Kagome smiled. “Aya and Amaya. Thank you Shippou.”
“Um...do you remember me?” He asked nervously.
Kagome’s smile faded slightly. “My memory is a thick fog, but I think the sun is starting to shine through it.”
“You’ll probably go home after you remember everything.” Shippou sniffed.
Kagome took a finger and raised his chin. “I think I found my home with all of you.” Kagome said reassuringly. It was true, she did want to know what her home village was like. But she decided not to think about that now.
Shippou hugged her again. He let her go and walked over to the bed to look at Daiki.
“So this is your Son?” Shippou asked.
“His name is Daiki, yes.” Kagome decided she should elaborate to avoid confusion later. “I promised his birth Mother that I will be a good Mother to him.”
“Ah.” Shippou said softly. He began to bound towards the door. He turned lightheartedly. “Well dinner is ready!” Shippou chirped. “Come join us, Mama!” With that Shippou ran from the room.
Kagome pulled Sayuri from her shoulder and cupped the bird in her hands. Kagome smiled and placed a careful kiss on her head.
“Sayuri, I need you to do something for me.” Kagome said with a slight urgency in her voice.
“Of course Kagome-sama.” Sayuri responded.
“I need you to get all the information you can about Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru, beginning from at least ten years ago.” Kagome began. “Go to Natsumi and tell her to expect me within the next month. And report back to me as soon as possible with your findings.” Kagome stood and walked over to a open window.
“Hai, Kagome-sama. I will not fail you!” Sayuri said before flying off.
Kagome watched her go. She felt different feelings when she was with the brothers. She wanted to know what their relationships were like. Kagome found that she couldn’t favor one over the other. With Inuyasha she felt like she belonged. With Sesshoumaru she felt like she could be happy. She wanted both. And even though she and Inuyasha had barely spoken, it felt so right to be with him. As did being with Sesshoumaru.
She decided not to dwell on it anymore until Sayuri returned. Kagome turned her attention to the paper puppets in front of her. She would activate them again. She enjoyed their company not to mention it made things a little easier for her. She placed her fingers on the puppets and allowed her holy energy flow through them, this time she would make them stronger.
“Sesshoumaru, why are you fooling yourself.” Inuyasha quipped. “You don’t love her! What the hell are you trying to prove.”
Sesshoumaru’s patience was on it’s last leg. “Do not attempt to dictate my feelings for the miko, Inuyasha.” Sesshoumaru said through a clenched jaw.
“Is it because she’s mine! That’s why you want her!” Inuyasha growled as he flexed his claws. “You wanted nothing to do with her, until you knew her power.”
“That was true. But no longer.” Sesshoumaru corrected. “Besides your one to talk, you were using her as a poor substitute for that un-dead monstrosity.”
Inuyasha’s eyes flashed red. “That’s not true, Kagome is nothing like her!” Inuyasha argued.
“Why are you fighting so hard for Kagome, little Brother.”
“Because, she belongs with me. She always has.” Inuyasha said his voice growing softer. “And I should kill you for trying to keep her away from me!”
“I did not try.” Sesshoumaru mocked.
Inuyasha only scowled at this. “If it isn’t for power and it isn’t for love. Why are you trying to claim her?”
Sesshoumaru didn’t answer immediately. He shifted and glare at his brother. “You are the one who said it wasn’t for love, not I”
Inuyasha scoffed. “Keh! The Perfect Killer is incapable of love, I know it and you do too.”
“So I’m told.” Sesshoumaru smirked. “Tell me why you Love her.”
Inuyasha turned his nose up to his Brother scornfully. “I asked you first! Dickhead!”
“That is not what I recall.” Sesshoumaru snorted. “If I remember correctly, you asked why I wanted to claim her.”
“Yeah, and you didn’t answer that either!”
“I don’t have to explain myself to the likes of you.”
“Well neither do I!”
“Well maybe you both could explain it to me!” The inu Brothers whirled around to see Kagome fuming in the doorway. “How dare you fight over me like dogs over meat. You never stopped to wonder what I wanted.” The brother remained silent. “If this is how it’s going to be, I don’t want to have anything to do with either one of you.” Kagome didn’t wait for a response she just turned and ran. When she reached her room, she threw a barrier over the door and buried her face in the bed.

“Kagome?” The voice of a woman called out. “Kagome, open your eyes.”
“No!” Kagome cried clenching her eyes tighter until it hurt.
“Please Kagome, don’t you want to remember?” The voice was soothing, but Kagome was afraid. Kagome felt a gentle hand on her own. Slowly Kagome opened her eyes. Standing before her was a Miko. Kagome’s eye’s widened when she realized that they resembled one another in many ways. Kagome stepped back only to find that she couldn’t. They were standing on the edge of a cliff. Kagome looked back at the Miko with fear.
“Who are you?” Kagome stammered. “Where am I!”
“My name is Kikyou.” The miko said. “We are here so that you can make a choice.”
Kagome looked confused. “A choice? What choice?”
Kikyou crossed her legs as she sat on the ground. Kagome mimicked her actions.
“You have a choice, you can return to your home.” Kikyou began. “You will be at peace, you will eventually marry, have many children and be happy.” Kikyou sighed. “But they will be human.”
Kagome arched an eyebrow. “What’s wrong with that.”
“They will die someday. They will die and you will go on, looking for the place where you belong.” Kikyou said quietly.
“Oh, I see.” Kagome fidgeted with the creases in her hakama.
Kikyou smiled painfully. “Behind me is a village. If you go into it, you’ll wake up and leave Sesshoumaru’s castle. You will eventually run into your human suitor, Ichiro. And he will take you back to your village, and you will most likely never regain your memories.
Kagome slightly cringed. Not that there was anything wrong with Ichiro, he was strong and handsome but he was just to bland and boring.
“What about my other choice, Kikyou?” Kagome asked.
“You can jump.”
“What.”
Kikyou stood and walked to the edge of the cliff. Kagome followed and peered over. The fall would probably kill her. It seemed endless. Kagome narrowed her eyes. Down, down, down. There were two figures standing and looking up at her. Kagome recognized the white flowing hair and burning yellow eyes.
“Kagome you have a destiny to fulfill.” Kikyou began to explain. “If you jump, you put all your trust in them to catch you.”
Kikyou could hear Kagome’s hard swallow. She put a understanding hand on her shoulder.
“If you jump, they have to choose to catch you or not.” Kikyou continued. “And when you wake, you will find that your life will change dramatically. There will be more danger, more tears. Your memories will return to you, and they will hurt. But you will go on, the Brother you choose will go on, and so will your children. You will experience times when you feel that all hope is lost. But you will have love to keep you going forward.” Kagome looked at Kikyou with wanting eyes.
“But I still have to choose, even after I wake up.” Kagome said as her tears came forward. “I have to choose between them.”
Kikyou frowned, than to Kagome’s surprise, Kikyou began laughing. “That my dear, is entirely up to you.”
Kagome frowned. “Hey what’s that suppose to mean, I can’t possibly have both. What would that make me.”
“I’m sure beings will come up with some pretty imaginative names.” Kikyou chuckled, as she shrugged off the question. “Would you truly let the things people say bother you?”
Kagome lowered her head and didn’t reply.
“Kagome, it’s time to choose.” Kagome jerked her head up and Kikyou was gone. Standing before her was the village and Ichiro. He had he hand extended, waiting for her to take it. So she could live a normal life. Kagome smiled and thought about the peaceful life she could have, she would fall in love with Ichiro, they would marry and have beautiful children. Kagome frowned, but he will grow old, as will her children. They will die, but she wouldn’t she would be alone in the world, searching for meaning in a meaningless world. Kagome closed her eyes. She could see their golden eyes, their silver hair. Kagome could feel their protective arms around her. She wanted to cry. As flashes of Inuyasha came into mind. They weren’t particularly important moments in their relationship. Just walking, talking. Occasional awkward glances. They’re love is silent. But it is there.
Kagome saw Sesshoumaru, cool and calculating. He was cold to everyone but her. He allowed himself to be clumsy around her after a eternity of tiring gracefulness. He had a side only she was allowed to touch. She had fallen in love. Kagome couldn’t choose, it was impossible. They were so different, they were both everything she wanted. She loved them, and everything thing they offered her. Good or bad.
Kagome gave a sad smiled to Ichiro and outstretched her arms. Kagome closed her eyes and fell back.

Kagome was awoken by cries from Daiki. Kagome was surprised to realize that something was rather forcefully holding her in place. She felt like she drank too much sake. It took her a moment to fully comprehend her surroundings. And when she did she was pretty past shocked and well into mortified.
Behind her was Sesshoumaru with his arms locked around her, like a kid with his security blanket. He was sleeping peacefully with his face nuzzled in the curved of her neck. Not that it was bad. Feeling his warm breath against her skin was rather soothing. Things started to get weird when she realized that the heavy pressure against her stomach wasn’t Sesshoumaru’s hands. But Inuyasha’s sleeping head. He was curled up besides her thigh and wrapped his arm around her waist, quite possessively. It struck Kagome that she didn’t really mind. And her mortification was simply washed away. Careful not to stir the brothers she shifted slightly so she could reach Daiki before he woke the entire household.
His wails were stifled to small whimpers. Kagome felt Sesshoumaru shift but nothing more. Inuyasha seemed to hold on tighter. Kagome had never felt more at peace then at that moment. Daiki stared up with wide eyes. Kagome couldn’t help but shed a happy tear.
“They caught me Daiki.” Kagome whispered, as she nuzzled the boy.

Poor Kagome, I don’t think she knows what she getting herself into. Anyway who do you think she should choose? I have an idea who I want her to be with. Anyway review and you’ll get more chappies! Anyway your probably wondering about the whole immortal thing, Kagome can die! (Think youkai) She just has to be mortally wounded. So she can live for a long time, but she can be killed. See ya!

Kagome held Daiki close. She wanted to cry. She was content with her lonely life, wasn’t she. Kagome wished she was back with Natsumi and even Ichiro. They nursed her, and cared for her. She didn’t have any heart wrenching memories with them. Kagome was interrupted by a knock on her door. Kagome said nothing but the door slowly opened anyway. Inuyasha was sitting in the lone tree in Sesshoumaru’s garden. He had been there since last night. The one thing on his mind was the maiden without a shrine. After all these years, she was so close. So why did he feel further away than ever from her. Inuyasha had regretted all the things he didn’t say. But then again he didn’t. If he had told her he loved her, would never leave her, if he wold have asked her to bare his pups, become his life mate. Wouldn’t the outcome be the same? “I love you as I half demon, Inuyasha!” Had he heard her, he seemed to fight harder. Kagome didn’t know what else she could do. With flooded eyes she looked into Inuyasha’s tormented face. She stood on her toes and leaned in...
Kagome jumped from the kiss. Someone was crying, it took her a moment to realize where she was. Rin had stepped into the garden with Daiki in her arms. Kagome couldn’t look at Inuyasha. She stood and ran to take Daiki. Without looking back she retreated to the house. She never got her answer.

Kagome didn’t know how long she sat in her room before someone knocked on her door. She could feel two sets of youki. One she recognized as Sayuri, the other she didn’t know.“Yes?” Kagome said impatiently.

Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru sat in the castle office. Kagome walked through the halls, thinking about why the Brother’s didn’t join them for dinner. She hadn’t seen either of them since that morning. Kagome decided to seek them out on her own. Following the youki, she found them in no time. They were having a heated discussion and Kagome hesitated to open the door.“Sesshoumaru, why are you fooling yourself.” Inuyasha quipped.
