Chapter 2

It was a warm spring afternoon. Ever since Naraku's demise the Inu gang was free to do as they please. Miroku and Sango got married and now lived in the village along with Sango's younger brother Kohaku and Kirara. Kagome had decided to stay in the feudal era with Inuyasha. The couple had decided to marry and adopt Shippo.

Out near the well Inuyasha leaned closer to Kagome. He intended to kiss her when the branch they were sitting broke at the crack of a whip. Inuyasha caught Kagome and they landed safely on the ground. It was then that Inuyasha caught Sesshoumaru's scent. He was surprised that he hadn't caught it beforehand. Damn, I must be getting old or somethin'. Nonetheless Inuyasha sneered and looked around for his brother.

"Where are you Sesshoumaru?!" Inuyasha yelled, "I know you're here stop hiding you coward!"

"I hide from no one." Sesshoumaru stated as he descended from Ah-Un's back.

"What do you want Sesshoumaru, Tetsusaiga again?" Kagome accused

"No, I merely require information."

"Yeah right!" Inuyasha yelled “You expect me to believe you came for a brotherly chit chat?”

Sesshoumaru's silence only irritated Inuyasha. He wasn't sure what Sesshoumaru was up to, but his brother was no stranger to deception. Without hesitation Inuyasha unsheathed Tetsusaiga and charged after Sesshoumaru in a blind rage. Sesshoumaru took to the sky and landed on Ah-Un once. He wasn't in any mood for such nonsense.

"Although it would please me greatly to destroy you, that is not my main concern." Sesshoumaru almost sighed

"Come on! What are you afraid huh?!" Inuyasha egged on with a confident smirk on his face.
Kagome on the other hand could tell the Sesshoumaru was serious. Just as Inuyasha took flight to meet head on with his brother, Kagome yelled, "Sit boy!"

Sesshoumaru watched Inuyasha go crashing to ground through amused eyes. He didn't expect the wench to help him. He slightly wondered why she would do that.

"Whad ja do that for?" Inuyasha yelled

"He's serious Inuyasha; he's not here to hurt us."

"Yes." Sesshoumaru agreed, "An assassin attempted to take my life."

“Then why are you complaining? Their dead and you're alive.” Inuyasha folded his arms

“The assassin is still alive, and I require the name of her employer.”

“It was a woman?!” Kagome was shocked

Sesshoumaru could have rolled his eyes if such an action was apart of his personality. It didn't matter that his attacker was female.

"Um, well, if you don't count your usual enemies...” Inuyasha cut through Sesshoumaru's thoughts, “Do you think this is someone new?"

"Yes." Sesshoumaru said somewhat irritated, “If I had an idea who it was, I wouldn't be here now.”

"I guess so." Inuyasha shrugged

But as if on cue, Miroku ran from the village yelling Inuyasha and Kagome's names. All three gave the monk their attention. He stopped in front of them and caught his breath.

"What is it Miroku?" Kagome asked

"There's a woman in the village claiming she killed ... wow!" Miroku pointed at Sesshoumaru, "Aren't you dead?!"

Sesshoumaru arched an eyebrow and shook his head in a nonchalant manner. He couldn't believe how idiotic Inuyasha's friends could be.

"The woman the said she killed you." Miroku said looking dumbfounded

"What does she look like?" Inuyasha asked going towards the village.

"Actually she's quite beautiful for a warrior. Some what tall, with white and black hair..."

But before Miroku could finish his sentence Sesshoumaru had left the scene and gone to the village. He planned to torture her till she gave him the name of her master, and then kill her painfully.

"Aren't you going to go with him Inuyasha?" Kagome asked

"What for?! If he kills her, fine, if she kills him, even better." Inuyasha chuckled

"Inuyasha! He's your brother! Even if you two don't get along." Kagome nodded

Inuyasha gave Kagome a look but decided against reminding her of how many times Sesshoumaru had tried to kill him.

"I thought you guys had a truce" Kagome put her hands on her hips

"Point."

"Point is, you should go find out who's trying to kill him."

"Whatever."

"Well, fine, I'll go, and you can just SIT around!"

As Kagome retreated to the village, Inuyasha laid in the ditch that was outlined in his shape moaning. What's wrong with that woman?

In the village Sesshoumaru scanned the grounds for Kaminari Ken. He tried to pick up her scent, but it seems that she had masked it. The search was especially difficult, from the rooftops, all the humans looked alike.

"Hey Sesshoumaru!" Kaminari Ken yelled throwing her cloak aside, "About time you came looking for me. I was beginning to think that lecher of monk was gonna take all day to get back to his friends. Or maybe you're a coward." Kaminari laughed know how angry she was making him.

"Why are you here?" Sesshoumaru said in an icy tone

As this discussion went on, villagers made their hasty retreat, feeling that the two would fight. Although they were accustomed Inuyasha and Kagome's fights, it was obvious that this was no domestic violence.

"Simple, to get you away from home. You really should look after your pups better." She smiled

Rin. Sesshoumaru's thoughts instantly turned to his young ward. Not caring that his intended killer was right in front him, he began to depart.

"Why are you leaving? Stay and fight me once more, it's already too late anyway. Plus I've got a job to finish."

Sesshoumaru let a growl escape his throat; she would tell him what she to or with Rin.

Sesshoumaru dashed at her, only to be caught around the throat by a whip. He landed roughly on the ground and looked up at a woman who appeared to be the twin of Kaminari Ken but with red streaks instead of white.

"Please meet my dear sister, Ketsueki Kawaki. Ketsueki, show him the ropes or rather the whips."

The sister smiled manically and raised the whip attached to her other glove. She cracked it and split open Sesshoumaru's armor from the back. Sesshoumaru had to think quickly, although he wasn't expecting to have two opponents, it doesn't change the fact that Rin may be dead.

"Now I would have done this duty myself, but you see, you broke my blades. Sister dear." She motioned her sister to tighten her grip," So now, I'm gonna break you!"

Ketsueki then used the whip that had broken Sesshoumaru's amour with, to wrap around his upper body, disabling him. Kaminari Ken approached Sesshoumaru slyly as electricity built up in her body. She reached out to touch him when an arrow shot out and claimed her arm, instantly exploding blowing the body part to pieces. Two more arrows came, one for each whip, releasing Sesshoumaru. Ketsueki pulled back with caution as her sister jumped to her side.

"So you brought a playmate too." Kaminari Ken said with disgust

Sesshoumaru looked over to Kagome, “I did not ask for your assistance.”

"So this is the priestess that has enchanted your brother. But where is he? This is supposed to be a family event."

Ketsueki smiled and dashed to Kagome, her speed so incredible, Kagome didn't have enough time to draw an arrow. Kagome soon found herself in Ketsueki's grip gasping for air. Ketsuek lifted her off the ground and licked her lips. She couldn't wait to the taste the priestess' blood once she crushed her throat.

The strangling was cut short by a loud a call from Inuyasha. "Tetsusaiga!"

Inuyasha jumped into the air with the transformed Tetsusaiga in hand. He brought the blade down cutting Ketsueki in half.

“Don't tell me these are the guys giving you such a hard time Sesshoumaru.” Inuyasha jeered

" Did you really think we were trying to kill him?!" Kaminari laughed, " I guess this little distraction is over with Sister, let's leave. I don't like these odds."

Ketsueki's body turned into a pool of blood and slinked back over to her sister and reformed.

"Come to the Ancient Warrior Graveyard. We'll have you precious Rin." Ketsueki smiled

Without another word Kaminari Ken became a bolt of lightening which shot into the sky, while Ketsueki Kawaki once again transformed into a pool of blood and quickly seeped into the moist ground.

Sesshoumaru narrowed his eyes and once again started off on Ah-Un without more than a glance.

"Hey where do you think you're goin'?" Inuyasha yelled at his elder brother

"To retrieve what's mine!"

"Let us come along." Kagome yelled after him.

Sesshoumaru ignored them and went about his way. The last thing he need was his little brother and the wench tagging along. He could handle the duo, he wish he had ended it before either of them showed up just to save face.

Underneathe the Ancient Warrior Graveyard

"Did you get the brat?!" Kaminari Ken yelled as she and Ketsueki Kawaki entered an underground cavern in the Ancient Warrior Graveyard.

"Yeah, but I ran into a little trouble." a woman sheathed in dark replied, " The little toad gave me small fight, but other wise it was easy."

"Good job Kage Kokoro, Kyushin will be very happy."

Ketsueki Kawaki approached Rin, who had been tied up and thrown in a corner. The girl looked dirty and helpless. Why would a demon known for his cruelty and hatred of humans, have such a filthy thing in his possession?

"Don't get too close though." Kage warned

"Why?" Ketsueki asked

"Because my sweet sister, she; like her master has teeth. When I went to snatch her up, the little bitch bit me."

"Then why didn't you gag her?" Ken asked

"What for, the kid doesn't talk anyway and..."

"Nice place girls, a little dead, but with hope it can be a happy home." A tall youkai laughed

He appeared human, with long black hair. He wore a blue and white hakama with a sword strapped to his side. But as anyone should know, looks can be deceiving.

"Kyushin." Ken smiled, "We got the girl, and Sesshoumaru will be here soon."

"And then you will be paid." He smiled

"So why do ya wanna kill him?" Shadow asked

"Just settling an old score."

"Oh, so this is a vengeance kick huh, what did he do?" Ken asked

"That's none of your business, you're paid to kill not ask questions. That's why I hired assassins."

Ken smirked, "It was a female."

The triplets laughed in unison

A scowl crossed his face, which shut them up promptly.

"So do we kill the girl?" Kage asked

"No." he smiled and approached Rin, " I just want to destroy Sesshoumaru, so we need her alive." He began patting Rin's head

"Should we warn him?" Kage asked Ken

"Warn me of what.... Ah! Fuck! The little bitch bit me!" He yelled

The girls dared not laugh at this, but smiled.

"Warn you of his help." Kage lied somewhat, " Inuyasha and his mate will be assisting Sesshoumaru."

"Fine, then they may die with him."

"But really, was it a girl?" Kage asked

Kyushin sneered and left in a black smoke

"That smoke exit is so lame." Ketsueki shook her head, "Where's the style?"
