Chapter 3 Traps in the Mist

As Sesshoumaru neared the graveyard, he caught Rin's scent, he knew she was there. Like most mystical graveyards, it was covered in mist and looked quite eerie. When Sesshoumaru touched foot on the ground, he heard Inuyasha coming his way, and he had from the sound of the other voice it seemed he had brought that miko with him. Sesshoumaru finally turned his attention back to finding Rin, if they had dared harm one hair on her, they would pay dearly.

Inuyasha closed in fast on the graveyard with Kagome on his back. Although he didn't like the idea of helping his brother, Kagome that it was the civil thing to. What really convinced him was the little girl. He didn't care if he brother got hurt, or even died, but little girl was innocent.

"Are we there yet Inuyasha? I can't see a thing." Kagome almost yelled into his ear.

"Yeah, we're close."

"I hope we get there in time before anything happens to Rin."

“For all we know, something could have already happened.” Inuyasha responded

Sesshoumaru fond himself pacing the grounds in search of anything that would give him a clue to where Rin was. The girl's scent was all over the place, but where was she?!

"Lost something?" A feminine voice asked

Sesshoumaru whirled around to see Kage. Why didn't I catch her scent?

"For a while there we thought you weren't going to show up. We even thought up some nasty things to do to your little girl right before you came along."

Sesshoumaru growled; the very thought of them doing anything to violate Rin angered him. No one touched what was his.

"C'mon handsome, let's dance." a wide grin crossed her face

Sesshoumaru readied himself for battle; just then a lightening bolt erupted from the mist and hit him in the back. Sesshoumaru found himself blasted to the ground, almost eating dirt. How was I attacked from behind, I didn't even sense her?

"Time for a little payback mutt, you've been a very bad dog. Your little archer took my arm, now I'm gonna take your life!" Kaminari yelled

"Is there any room for a fourth!" The last sister yelled as her whip cracked and ripped at Sesshoumaru's back, " Cause I love to party!"

Sesshoumaru rose from the ground ready to fight. There are three of them now, how many can there be, and where are they coming from?

All of the sudden Sesshoumaru lost sight of them. Damn, I can't sense them, where could they be?!

"See the funny thing about mist of the Ancient Warrior Graveyard is..." Kaminari started

"It's so thick that it hides your opponent." Kage continued

"Even if your a mighty youkai Lord..." Ketsueki laughed

"You succumb to it." Kaminari finished

"You hide in the mist instead of fighting me head on. Cowards like you have no honor.” Sesshoumaru said to the mist

"Now we couldn't be cowards if we did that!" Kage laughed passing right by Sesshoumaru

"Yeah, but we prefer to be called strategist." Ketsueki called out passing the opposite way of her sister next to Sesshoumaru

"We're assassins after all, or have you forgotten. Now, no more games!" Kaminari yelled running straight for Sesshoumaru

She attacked with a right hook, but Sesshoumaru was able to block with his arm. Unfortunately, he was still shocked by the electricity leaving him slightly stunned. A whip coiled around his neck and yanked him backwards. Kage, taking the advantage of Sesshoumaru's position, dropped from the sky and landed on his chest. Blood spurt out from Sesshoumaru's mouth on impact. Ketsueki didn't let up as she yanked her wrist upward sending Sesshoumaru into the air.

"Let's play catch!" Ketsueki yelled releasing Sesshoumaru in mid air

Kage flipped in the air and spiked Sesshoumaru to the ground. He landed with an umph felling all the bones in his body rattle. Sesshoumaru grimaced trying to get back to his feet, but was hesitant since it was three on one and he didn't know where they were. Kaminari raced up to Sesshoumaru and grabbed him by the collar, lifting him off the ground.

"Now we will end this little game. And when I'm done with you, I'm gonna mutilate that pretty little human girl of yours."

This got a rise out of Sesshoumaru; he lashed out with his poisonous claw, hitting her directly in the face. Kaminari screamed as she rubbed her eyes, which only made it worse. Sesshoumaru showed what seemed like a slight smirk. This is exactly what he needed to even up the odds. Kaminari retreated into the mist to find refuge. But instead of finding the mist when she opened her eyes, she found blackness.

"Son of a bitch, I'm blind!" She screamed

Now knowing where she was, Sesshoumaru ran over and put his fist through her chest. Kaminari looked down at his hand in astonishment. Blood dripped from her mouth as she looked back at him, then smiled. Sesshoumaru frowned, that wasn't the expression he thought he'd see. What is she…?!

"Behind you." she smiled then let a small chuckle

Sesshoumaru swerved his head just in time to see Ketsueki in the air with her whips ready. Once again the scuffle was interrupted by a familiar cry, "Wind Scar!" A burst of light came Ketsueki's way and enveloped her body in its whiteness. Her form disintegrated under the force of the light and a blood curdling scream was left in it's wake.

"Ketsueki!" Kaminari and Kage yelled

In anger and sorrow of her lost sister, Kaminari powered her body and turned into pure electricity. Sesshoumaru all too slowly realized that hand was still in her body when she did this and was thrown back by the shock. Electricity extracted lightening from the sky sending bolts in the direction of Inuyasha and Kagome. Inuyasha grabbed Kagome dodging the in coming fire, or rather lightening wondering how long this was going to be kept up. Sesshoumaru was sadly still lying on the ground when the attack started and was struck twice before the barrage halted. Inuyasha looked over to his brother and found him in a ditch that much resembled his own when Kagome commands him to sit. Ken reverted back to her solid form; the wound in her chest had disappeared and she was fueled by her anger and hurt.

"You will all die now, and as for your precious Rin, I'll make sure she has a long agonizing demise." Kaminari spat

Kage walked to her sister's side, eyes blazing like black fire. Inuyasha knelt with Kagome on his back allowing the miko to give off to shots with her bow. The sisters easily dodged the arrows and went for Kagome and Inuyasha, completely ignoring Sesshoumaru. Kaminari jumped from place to place till she pounced on Kagome and began to strangle her.

"Because I hate the smell of fried humans, I'll just have to choke you to death. But I'll enjoy watching your eyes burst from your skull!" She laughed manically

Kage had become a black mist and surrounded Inuyasha, throwing blows at him, while all he could do was swipe at the mist that blinded him of a dying Kagome. Kaminari tightened her grip and laughed louder, but her laughter was cut short by decapitation. Kagome pushed the behead body off her coughing and grasping at her throat. She looked up and saw Sesshoumaru leering over her. The sight almost made her gasp in terror. Why did he help me?

"Inuyasha." Sesshoumaru said pointing to the black mist

"Right!" Kagome nodded

She drew an arrow and fired it at the mist. A purple light filled the mist then exploded sending bits and pieces of the cloud to mix with the mist of the graveyard. Inuyasha looked around him then at Kagome and Sesshoumaru.

"Thanks, that wench was getting annoying as hell." He smiled

"I'm not dead yet assholes!" the mist reformed to become a body

"Where's Rin!" Sesshoumaru demanded

"In her grave just like you will be." Kage said with a sneer

Sesshoumaru felt anger and fear strike his heart at the same time. Even though his face did not portray his emotions, Inuyasha and Kagome knew that the little black thing that could be called his heart was in agony. NO! Rin! Sesshoumaru charged at Shadow, but was only greeted by air as she jumped out of his reach.

"I'm tired of this!" Inuyasha yelled, "Let's finish it!"

Inuyasha lifted Tetsusaiga in the air as Sesshoumaru moved back to his side. Inuyasha brought the sword down in Kage's direction as claw marks of light was sent her way. Shadow knew there was no escaping this, but at the last moment she felt someone grab her from behind and transport her to a different location.

"She's gone!" Kagome said in disbelief

"Who was that guy?" Inuyasha asked aloud

"Allow me to introduce myself to those of you who don't know me." A deep voice resonated

The three turned to their right and found Kage standing beside a tall man with black hair several feet away from them.

"I am..."

"Kyushin." Sesshoumaru said sounding bored

"How dare you interupt..."

"You know this bastard?" Inuyasha asked his brother

Kyushin grew red with anger; "Hey I was talk..."

"What's going on Sesshoumaru?" Kagome asked

That was the last straw, Kyushin let a black fire ball erupt from his index finger to land inches from the group finally getting their undivided attention, " Now listen to me dammit. I have your bitch Sesshoumaru! You come to MY castle, on MY land, and we will fight to the death."

"Boy this guy is self centered." Kagome shoved her hands on her hip

"I know, he's always had a self complexity problem." Sesshoumaru said almost smirking, he knew the comment piss Kyushin off

Kyushin sneered angrily, "Just come or the girl dies." He grabbed Shadow by the waist and they disappeared in smoke

"You might be smoke now but you'll be dust when I get to ya!" Inuyasha yelled at the smoke

"He's gone already." Sesshoumaru said looking at his little brother

"You timed that reeeeally bad Inuyasha." Kagome said shaking her head

Inuyasha just glared at them both, "So what's up with you and tall, dark, and self centered."

"I stole his female." Sesshoumaru said as he turned to leave

"So this is all over a girl?!" Kagome said in disbelief

"Actually, it was His (mocking Kyushin) mate." Sesshoumaru continued to walk

Inuyasha huffed, "I can't believe I came all the way here to help you out and it turns out to be girl trouble."

"I did not ask you to come." Sesshoumaru gave Inuyasha a threatening glare

"Well if I hadn't you'd be sliced and smoking dogcabob!"

"I did not need your assistance!" Sesshoumaru demanded

"Oh c'mon, they were beatin' you around like a sack of potatoes. Why didn't you just transformed."

“If Rin was near by she would have been seriously injured if not dead.” Sesshoumaru replied venomously

“Whatever, that's just an excuse for getting' your ass kicked.” Inuyasha shook his head

Sesshoumaru's eyes began to glow red just as Kagome decided to intervene; "Will you guys cut it out! We don't have time for this. Rin is in danger, so let's quit fighting and go save her. Then you and Kyushin, (pointing at Sesshoumaru) can go on the Jerry Springer show and really work this out."

Kagome earned a look of confusion from Inuyasha and a raised eyebrow from Sesshoumaru.

"Who's Jerry Springer?" Inuyasha asked

"Never mind let's go!" Kagome yelled
