Chapter 3 THE ‘ACCIDENT'
The sky was getting dark. Over the hilltop Shippo could just see the last glows of the setting sun. It cast of the most magnificent blues, pinks and golds he thought he had ever seen. A warm breeze blew and Shippo turned to let it caress his face once more before he went inside for the night. Upon turning, Shippo saw Inuyasha dashing into the forest. Must be going to get Kagome, Shippo thought. He wondered how long it was gonna take before he got too restless without her around. Shippo decided there was nothing he could do about it and started walking toward the hut.

Kagome thought her eyes would cross if she had to look at one more math problem. As she had suspected before, she had a mountain of homework. Her mother had told the school that she had an immune disorder so she got sick a lot. It worked pretty well and nobody asked many too questions. Except for her friends, of coarse. She could usually appease them with a simple, ‘Oh, it was nothing. I'm feeling much better now,' though.
Kagome decided that she was going to put it away for the night. It was already 6 o'clock in the evening and if she didn't stop now, she wouldn't have time for her evening bath. She wouldn't miss that for anything. She was going to go back through the well Tamar after school and she was looking at another week of those cold lake baths that she hated so much.
She closed her books and put them back in her blue and white backpack. Time for a little me time, she thought. She picked up her robe and went down the hall to the bathroom. She closed the door behind her and turned on the hot water. While the tub started to fill Kagome went to the cabinet below the sink and got out the new bath oil beads she had gotten at the market the other day. She dropped two in the water and let the soothing aroma or gardenia fill her nostrils. She started to disrobe and turned off the water so as not to fill it too full.
As Kagome eased herself into the hot water, she felt as if there was no other place on earth like a hot bath. She would never understand what Inuyasha had against them. He had taken one here once. He came out of the bathroom in nothing but his skin crabbing about the house being cold. Thank goodness Souta was the first one to see him and rushed him back into the bathroom to put his cloths on.
Kagome was just about to fall asleep when she heard Souta shouting something from the stairs. Who was he shouting at? Grandpa had fallen asleep in front of the television and Mama was cleaning the dinner dishes last Kagome knew. Kagome got up to find out what was going on, but before she could even so much as reach for the towel, the door burst open and in walked Inuyasha. His face twisted into a look of both horror and admiration at Kagome's naked body.
"Inuyasha!" Kagome dropped herself back in the water attempting to conceal herself as best she could. The towels were all the way over by the sink and that would mean running across the room buck naked. Not happening.
Inuyasha said nothing. He just stood there as if paralyzed.
"Inuyasha, you pervert! Get out!"
That snapped him back to life. He turned and went running out of the room as fast as he could. In his haste, he didn't see the cat in his path for the stairs. Down went Inuyasha. He hit the floor with a loud thud and a grunt that wasn't as much pain as it was irritation. He got up, ran down the stairs, past Souta and straight to the well house.
Souta shook his head. He knew exactly what happened and knew he was gonna hear about it for a week to come.

Inuyasha was through the well and running for Kaede's village within minutes. He should have known Kagome would be in one of the stupid bath thingys. She always was. He felt as if he couldn't put enough distance between him and her at that moment. He was really gonna hear it when she got back. She can just come back whenever she wants to, Inuyasha thought. He sure wasn't gonna go back for her now.
He reached the village and slowed down a bit. He'd run over a villager or two in his time and he'd already fallen on his face once tonight.
When he got to the hut he was surprised to find that Miroku was the only one there.
"Where's Kagome, Inuyasha?"
"Where's Songo and Shippo, Monk?"
"Um......Songo just wanted to get some air and Shippo went with her." Miroku turned his head to look at his feet and Inuyasha noticed the red hand shaped mark on his face.
"Uh Huh. When will you learn that your just gonna get slapped every time you grab her butt? She's gonna sick Kirara on you someday."
The curtain fluttered and Songo and Shippo appeared. They sat down without a word. Songo flashed a furious look toward Miroku and then just stared at the fire.
Shippo looked around the room as if looking for something then smiled as if he had his own little secret.
"Kagome didn't want to come back with you, huh?"
BONK!
"OUCH!"
"Keh. Serves you right." Inuyasha snuffed.
Miroku and Songo just shook their heads. They could say something, but what was the point? Kagome was the only one that could get a point across to him.
Inuyasha started cleaning the Tetsuiga in silence.
A few minutes later, Kagome barged in, her hair wet and a look of pure fury on her face.
Inuyasha's face turned into pure fear at the sight of Kagome's outrage.
"INUYASHA! SIT BOY!"
WHAP! Face first into the floor.
"SIT SIT SIT SIT SIT BOY!!!!!"
