CHAPTER 3 BACK TO BUSINESS

Inuyasha walked ahead with Miroku. Kagome was still mad and stayed behind with Song, Kirara and Shippo.
They walked down a path that lead them south toward a small fishing village. At this point their main goal was to find the jewel shards. That meant a lot of wandering around from village to village asking questions. It was tedious work but it proved effective. There was always some villager ready to tell them all the local gossip. That usually consisted of some big, ugly demon terrorizing the next village or the roads.

"Hey, Inuyasha," Shippo called out as he ran to catch up to them.

"Hey, Inuyasha. Kagome told us what she so mad at you about." Shippo grinned but hung close to Miroku in hopes of not getting BONKED.

"Key. What business is it of yours?!" Inuyasha said.

"Huh. She said she can't even bathe in peace in her own time. She also said you didn't even look away! You just stood there ogling her! Pervert."

"You saw Kagome Naked?" Miroku's face went slack and he was lost in his own thoughts. Inuyasha saw this and didn't like it.

"Just what the Hell are you thinkin' about, Monk?!"

Miroku smiled.

"I just find it amusing that you're always calling me a pervert and here you're peeping at Kagome."

"Just what are you sayin', Monk?!" Inuyasha stopped in front of Miroku and held up his fist.

"SIT BOY!"

WHAP!!!

On her way by Kagome stepped on the back of Inuyasha's head, pushing his face further into the dirt.

"KAGOME!!!" Inuyasha growled.

Kagome stopped just a few steps from where Inuyasha still lay on the ground.

"Shhh! Quiet." She held up her hand to silence her friends. She stood there like that for a long moment.

"I sense a jewel shard nearby." She finally said.

"Really? Where?" Songo asked.

Kagome looked around. They were surrounded by forest on this little dirt path. Everything looked the same buy Kagome was sure she sensed the shard directly to her right.

"There," Kagome said pointing in the direction of the shard's energy.

"How many?" Inuyasha asked, pulling himself up off the ground. The fight was forgotten the moment the Shikon Jewel was mentioned.

"Only one, I think."

But Inuyasha was already off the path and weaving his way through the trees toward the shard and whatever had a hold of it.
