Chapter 15: You Come Here Often?
Kagome wandered through the park, completely lost. Her and Inuyasha were suppose to be together forever, that is why they were mated. When she so much as thought of another guy she would get a pounding headache. . . why would, or could, he cheat on her? It didn't make sense.
*That is cause he is not cheating on you baka!*
~Oh yes he is. How else would you explain it?~
*Well, maybe he was doing something nice for you. Like buying you a gift.*
~For the entire afternoon, and all the night?~
~You did tell him to 'go' because he had a life. You were the one that shoved him away. You ALWAYS shoved him away.~
*He did a fair amount of shoving in his day too*
~He didn't want to get hurt. But you hurt him, so he saught comfort in someone else~
*When did I ever hurt him?*
~By not wanting him to be around.~
*That is crazy. . . oh no. . . I did tell him to leave. This is my fault. I lost him, and its all my fault*
~Ding ding ding, we have a winner. The big loser who can't keep a boyfriend to save her soul~
~*Hai you lost out to a dead girl*~
The thoughts within Kagome's head laughed at her and she felt herself cry harder. People walked by her like she was just another crazy person. "What if I apologize?" Kagome asked the voices out loud.
~He won't take you back now. Its too late. You fucked up baka!~
~*Why would he want to be with you anyway?*~
~Hai? You are so stupid. You jump to conclusions, heck, you see dead people~
"Shut up, shut up. . . SHUT UP!" she screamed. This time some people stopped, but walked even faster after a moment of contemplation.
Kagome stood up and began running away. She didn't know where she was going, anywhere but here.
~Boston's looking real great again!~
As she continued to run, she felt herself being stopped. Kagome felt arms around her, strong male arms. She looked up through hazy eyes to see Inuyasha, this caused her to cry harder.
"Its okay. I'm sorry, I know I was acting weird. I wanted to wait to tell you but I can see you are upset. You must think I'm being unfaithful or something with the way I've been acting." Inuyasha never let Kagome leave the comfort of his arms. She didn't want to either. Her thoughts were wrong, she hadn't pushed him away; but then what was it that he had been doing.
"Inuyasha," Kagome sniffled slightly, having calmed down quite a bit, before she began "I was worried that you were going to leave me for Kikyou. Like you did in the past."
Inuyasha thought about this for a second, guilt swept over him, for more reasons than even Kagome knew . . . he had always picked Kikyou over Kagome, for years, but then he realized that Kikyou could never compare to Kagome. Nor could she now. He had always been in love with Kagome, but too blind and stupid to see it. He loved Kagome with all his heart; even after what happened in 1864 . . . how could he prove it?
"No Kagome. I love you." his voice was almost violent. "I've always loved you and will always love you." Kagome accepted this answer, his voice held no hesitation; he meant what he said.
"I think my brother is going to marry Kikyou." Kagome changed subjects. She deicided not to press the matter of his whereabouts.
"Umm. . . cool?" Inuyasha didn't know what to say to that. Kikyou had long since died, and re-died, there was no way she was alive now marrying Kagome's little brother.
"Inuyasha I'm serious. I told you I thought I saw her at the gym. Well, this time I saw her at my mothers house. That is why I was trying to find you yesterday when your brother was being a jackass and Kouga was lying about your whereabouts. She says her name is Caryn and that she met Souta at a 'theology' convention. I just know its Kikyou. I wanted you to come over and tell me what you thought." Kagome finished trying to reclaim some of her sanity.
"Well then lets go." Inuyasha held his hand out to Kagome.
The pair walked slowly to the Shrine. Inuyasha wanted to believe that his girlfriend wasn't insane, but he didn't want to believe that Kikyou would be waiting at the shrine when he arrived. By all accounts it didn't make sense. If she was still alive, for some fucked up reason, she would be just about as old as he was (500+) and that was just too old for a human. Then again, she was reborn of clay . . . is it possible that the clay is still walking around?
"Hey Mom." Inuyasha's thoughts were interrupted upon arriving at the shrine.
"Hello dear, morning Inuyasha." Mrs. Higarashi hugged them both and led them into the living room.
"Morning Souta," she smiled at her brother, "Caryn." she added coldly. "This is my boyfriend Inuyasha. Have you met?" she gave her a pointed look.
"Lovely to meet you dear." Caryn stood and shook hands with Inuyasha.
"Hai, you too." Caryn sat back down and Inuyasha whispered into Kagome's ear. "Come out side in like four seconds." "Oh dang, left my cell in the car. Be right back." he said loud enough for everyone to hear.
Kagome waited for about a minute before she gracefully made an exit.
"Holy Kami! That is her!" Inuyasha screamed in a mixture of confusion and . . . more confusion.
"Oh thank Kami you believe me." Kagome looked up to the sky in happiness.
"How can this be?"
"I don't know."
"What are we going to do? Your brother can't be with her. How can this be? Do you think she figured out the power of the well and somehow found a way to come forward in time? Oh man this is some far out shit." he sat on the hood of Souta's car and thought.
"I don't know." Kagome repeated. She tried to think of anything that would help her out when her Grandfathers words rang through her head. . . "Kikyou's work is not done. Inuyasha is in danger." Kagome whispered.
"Nani?"
"Inuyasha you are in danger. Kikyou's work is not done. My grandfather warned me about this. She is planning something against you." Kagome said hurridly.
"Okay, calm down. Lets go back to my house and talk okay." Kagome nodded dumbly.
"I just have to say good-bye to my Mom." Kagome walked into the house with Inuyasha close behind her.
"Mom, I don't feel very well I am going to go home, I'll call you later. Bye Souta." she hugged her Mother and completely ignored Caryn all together. Inuyasha said his good-bye's and followed Kagome, but not before taking a long hard look at the girl called Caryn.

". . . So what do you think Sess?" Inuyasha finished the story of Kikyou and looked to his older, and allegedly wiser, brother for help.
"We know it seems crazy Sess but really, its her." Kagome, who had been silent the whole time, spoke.
"No, you are right. Kikyou is back to finish what she started over five hundred years ago."
"Sess you have to belie-" Inuyasha, who hadn't really been listening to his brothers response, began more pleading arguments, "Wait. You believe us? Oh thank Kami!"
"Yes, I knew this would happen. Call it a premonition if you will. Kagome, why didn't you tell me of your Grandfather's words?"
"I don't know. . . I was distressed, I wasn't thinking. What is she going to do?" Kagome sat on the edge of the couch, hanging on Sesshomaru's every word.
"It's hard to say. Somehow the Kikyou of fifty years prier to meeting you has figured out the mystery of the well and the Shikon no Tama." he paused briefly to sigh, "She seems to be trying to win your families trust; through your brother. What her motives are is hard to see. It's also hard to see how she realized the potential of the well. Unless," something seemed to click inside Sesshomaru's head, "unless she saw you Kagome, going through the well once. Perhaps she realized you were from somewhere else, did you ever tell her? Anyway, she must have discovered that you were from the future and then she used the well to go back to her former self and get Inuyasha back from you, but in this time."
"Woah. Slow down. What?" Inuyasha asked, having lost Sesshomaru's theory at 'unless she saw Kagome'.
"You see Inuyasha, she figured out the potential of the well-"
"Yeah I got that part. But what do you mean she told her former self about me. . ."
"Well, just that. The clay Kikyou, the only one Kagome knows, realized you two were sickeningly in love, so the day that Kagome went back- theoretically having chose her own time over ours - she sealed the well entirely. Then, she knew how to use the well so she went back to fifty-some-odd years before and told her alive self that you would one day chose Kagome over herself."
"That would screw so bad with the Space Time Continuum. Then Kikyou would never have pinned me to a tree, and she would never have died, and I might not even know Kagome." Inuyasha sounded panicked, and on instinct he put his arm around Kagome's waist.
"I know. Kikyou seems to be smarter than that, other wise the world as we know it would have been drastically changed. She must have warned herself to still pin you and. . . no that doesn't work either, because then she would have had to die, and then we'd just be dealing with clay anyway."
"This is way too much for me to handle. . ." Inuyasha walked to the kitchen, "Ramen? Any one?"
"No thank you little brother."
"No thanks Hun."
Sesshomaru and Kagome sat in pensive silence while Inuyasha made his own Ramen and brought back a Pepsi.
"Okay," he said between bites, "so lets say that Kikyou did some how figure out the well's. . . what did you call it? 'Potential'? Now what? Is she going to try and win me over by marrying someone else? Hai, that'll work." Inuyasha said sarcastically. Kagome smiled slightly to herself, it did sound like a foolish plan.
~Then again, Kikyou is a baka.~
*True, true. . . but what if she does manage to take Inuyasha?*
~Oh she wont. Calm down.~
*But. . . but she is so much prettier and I'm sure she is smarter*
~Hai, she was born almost a two hundred years before normal education. . . definitely smarter~
*But, at the same time, just because of her lack of arithmetic's and what not, doesn't mean she is stupid. She obviously discovered the potential of the well*
~What if. . . ~
"Sesshomaru!" Inuyasha, who had been in the middle of complaining about the flaws in this plan turned his head to Kagome. Sesshomaru looked at her calmly, telling her to continue. "Okay, what if I'm really not the reincarnation of Kikyou. What if that was all a bunch of hoop-la. Then this girl, Caryn, really is. That makes more sense they look more alike."
"Kagome, that is an idealistic theory. In actuality you are the reincarnation. The Shikon no Tama was inside you. Besides that, at first glance, and smell for that matter, you're just like her."
"I am n-"
"She is not! Kagome is far better than Kikyou will ever be!" Inuyasha shouted.
"Thanks Yash." Kagome placed her hand in his, he grasped it gently and the pair smiled at each other.
"You two are sickening." Sesshomaru said. "I'm sorry, I can't think now. I have far too much work to do. Inuyasha, are you going to build that new yacht? Or have you decided to conserve your money for something more valuable?" Sesshomaru asked.
"Actually. . ." he looked at Kagome, "We can talk about it later." Kagome looked confused.
"Understood. Well, I'm off to work on my books and boring business matters." Sesshomaru stood up and walked through the kitchen toward his office.
"What is it you are going to buy?" Kagome asked slyly.
"Nothing. Boring business stuff." Inuyasha replied, somewhat hesitantly.
"Mm, hmm." Kagome yawned. "Kami I'm tired. What time is it?" she looked to the grandfather clock and noticed it was only three in the afternoon.
"Three." Inuyasha replied, though he realized Kagome was looking at the clock anyway. "Come on. Let's get out of the house. Want to see a movie?"
"I fear I wouldn't pay attention." Kagome said.
"Hai, neither will I. But, it's something to do. Come on." Inuyasha stood up and held his hand out. Kagome took it and followed him to the elevator.
"So which movie are we going to see?"
§¤*~
"I'll be right back." Kagome whispered as she gracefully walked out of the dark room.
The movie wasn't that long, but if she had to sit through another minute of it she was going to scream. It was a historical documentary of the French Revolution. Kagome walked through the lobby to the bathrooms.
"Hey Kagome!" at the sound of her name she turned around.
"Shippo!" she hugged him. "How are you?"
"I'm doing pretty well. How are you?"
"Fine." Kagome decided to leave him out of the Kikyou 'loop'.
"Is everything okay with your mother and all that?" he asked, attempting to be sensitive.
"Hai, thanks for your concern."
"No problem. Sorry to cut this short. I'm on a date." he smiled, "I'll see ya later. Come by the house later."
"All right, I probably will. Bye Shippo!" Kagome waved and turned around once more.
"Hai, it's all set. Yash will be late. Hai, he's got to make up something. I shouldn't have been so dumb. Next time I lie I'll make sure she isn't there." Kagome recognized the laugh that followed the statement. It was Kouga. Quickly hiding, out of pure instinct, Kagome continued listening.
"I can't wait to see him. I haven't talked to him much lately." the voices drifted closer, "Do you think Kagome suspects though?" It was a woman's voice that was with him.
"I don't see why. But we can't keep covering for Yash, he's got to tell her soon."
"Hai I agre- Hey Yash! What's up?"
"Not much. Have you seen Kagome?"
"No, last time I saw her was with you yesterday."
"Oh, I thought you might have seen her, she left a few minutes ago, I was getting worried."
"What movie are you watching?" Kouga asked.
"Some flick about the French Revolution. I almost fell asleep twice. Though once I'm pretty sure I did fall asleep, I had drool on my face. Anyway, what were you talking about? I heard my name."
"We didn't say your name." Ayume, the girl walking with Kouga, lied.
"I heard my name." Inuyasha, who had a concealing spell on, was going to wiggle his ears to prove his point, but found they weren't there.
"We were talking about you having to make up a new excuse as to why you can't hang out with Kagome tomorrow. And how I can't cover for shit." Kouga reported.
"Oh. Well that's true ya can't." he smiled and broke the conversation short, "Well, I'm going to get Kagome and try and finish this boring movie. See ya later."
"Bye." they replied in unison.
Kagome pulled open the bathroom door and pretended to be walking out of it. "Hey Yash!" she said dramatically.
"Hey babe. I was getting worried." he kissed her on the cheek and they began walking back to the screen their movie was playing in.
§¤*~
"So you want to hang out tomorrow? It's suppose to be wicked nice out, we can go to the beach or something." Kagome said as Inuyasha and herself walked to the car.
"I actually can't tomorrow. I'm busy. Work and stuff." he replied. He was stumbling about his words and Kagome knew he was lying.
"Oh, okay. I'll just hang out with Eri or someone." she said calmly. "I'm kind of tired. Long day. Do you mind dropping me off at home?"
"Are you sure? It's only six. You want to grab some dinner or something?"
"Nah. I really just want to go home." Kagome's stomach picked that moment to growl rather loudly. She ignored it and prayed Inuyasha didn't here it.
"If that's what you want." Inuyasha drove Kagome home and walked her to her door.
"I'll talk to you tomorr. . . eventually." Kagome smiled at Inuyasha. "Night Yash."
"Night babe." he kissed her and attempted to convince her to invite him to stay but she broke the kiss off quickly. She smiled again, more hesitantly and walked into her apartment.
§¤*~
"This is such a cute idea Yash." Ayume bubbled looking at the picture before her.
"Hai. But it's practically killing our relationship, trying to hide it." he replied.
"Yash?" Kouga looked over to Inuyasha who looked back. Kouga mouthed the word 'Kagome' and pointed to Inuyasha's cell phone. Getting quite tired of lying Inuyasha made a motion as though slicing his neck. "Just missed him. Gomen. . . Hai he always forgets his phone. . . All right. . . Hai. . . Hai I'll tell him. . . Buh Bye." Kouga clicked off the cell phone and tossed it back to Inuyasha. "Gomen, forgot to give that back."
"It's aight. Thanks." Kouga nodded and went back to what he was doing before the interruption with the cell phone.
"I feel so bad lying to her." Inuyasha said to Ayume.
"Well, it wont be as effective if you tell her."
"Hai I know." Inuyasha sighed and looked at the workers on the lawn. "Think she'll like it?"
"I think she'll love it!" Ayume said excitedly.
"You have way to much energy." Inuyasha smiled and grabbed a bucket of paint from beside the crate he was sitting on. "You gonna help or not?"
Ayume giggled and stuck out her tongue. She grabbed a paint brush and followed him to the house.

"Where are you Yash? What are you doing?" Kagome was talking out loud to herself but her voice was interrupted by the sound of knocking on her apartment door.
Startled she walked to the door, noticing it was Souta she opened up. "Hey." she hugged him and allowed him to come in, slowly followed by Caryn.
"How are you sis?"
"I've been better." she smiled none-the-less, hesitantly stepping aside for Caryn to enter.
"You don't like me do you Kagome?" Caryn said suddenly.
"You seem like a nice person." Kagome said, through gritted teeth.
"No, you really don't like me. You have that look about you like you just saw a dog throw up or something. What did I do to upset you?" Caryn asked. Her attitude did seem truly hurt, Kagome felt a bit guilty.
"I'm sorry. You kind of remind me of someone and I guess it threw me off."
"Apology accepted." she replied cheerfully. "That's really all we came by about. Sorry to have bothered you. Have a nice day."
"Hold up love. Kag can I use your bathroom?"
"Sure. To the left." Kagome pointed down the hall.
"Thanks."
"So Caryn. . . "
"Kagome." a fairly long pause followed.
"You come to the future often?" Kagome didn't realize she had blurted out her thoughts.
"Listen here you little hussy, Inuyasha was mine and will always be mine! Get over it!"
"Kikyou?! It is you!" Kagome pointed to her as though that would make her go away.
"You better shut the hell up with your theories about me. Inuyasha's not going to do anything about it anyway! You wonder where he's been? He's with me. Deal with it!"
"Ready Hun?"
"Of course dear." 'Caryn' put on a bright smile. "Good bye Kagome. Muah." she walked arm in arm out the door with Souta.
Kagome felt tears in her eyes. . . could what she have thought all along been true? Does Inuyasha still love Kikyou? "Inuyasha. . ."
*Tear* What would you do? You think your boyfriend is cheatin' with an ex. . . Personally, I'd move to Japan. . . well they are in Japan so I'd move to America ^-^ hehe Love you guys!
Guess what? Guess what? Guess what? *haha that was annoying!* anyway, I finally saw the first Inuyasha movie! Hehe! Yay. That was fun. Trying to figure out the menu was the best, the menu was in Japanese, mind you I speak two languages . . . english . . . and bad english. ^_^ *quote from Bruce Willis in the Fifth Element thank you* But I did figure out the subtitles . . . turns out I have a 'subtitle' button on my DVD remote. That woulda come in handy five minutes before I was fiddling around on the dang menu! ^_^ Anyway, I'll stop being boring now. haha Love you guys!
Oh, Have I put up any disclaimers in this series? Well I don't own Inu. I just own a bunch of his stuff! ^-^ hehe Love that Hanyou. Okay bye!
Kagome wandered through the park, completely lost. Her and Inuyasha were suppose to be together forever, that is why they were mated. When she so much as thought of another guy she would get a pounding headache. . . why would, or could, he cheat on her? It didn't make sense.
