Well another chapter to an ever-growing story. No worries, I've got some great ideas for my next story. Heart breaking, betrayal, all that good stuff you know?
But back to this story. As always - Where we last left off…

“I….I think I got something.” She stated, looking nowhere in particular. Inuyasha grinned wildly, hoping it was something about him. Something about they're relationship. “Well? Come on Kagome! What is it you remembered?” he remarked, lifting his head with an excited expression. Kagome paused a moment. Why would she remember this? But it was something, and she had to give herself that much credit. “Well it's a word, but it doesn't make too much sense really…” she said shaking her head in protest.

Inuyasha thought. Was it Hanyou? Youkai? A word she had learned here and not in the present day? “Well then, let's hear it! What is this word of yours Kagome?”

Kagome sighed then looked Inuyasha right in the eye. “Inuyasha…” she said in a tone she knew must be used. He looked in terror as he realized which word she had chose to remember. “SIT!”

Too Late?

Chapter 6

Sango's eyes opened. Slowly she sat up, rubbing her eyes a bit, then looked around. The fire was still going, and Kirara was strangely awake, watching her and the other sleeping figure with great care. Sango, still sleepy, nudged the silent monk, Miroku. “Yes, yes. Wait your turn, there's plenty of me to go around…” he yawned, muffling the last bit of his sentence.

Miroku felt a painful smack to the face. What had he done this time? Miroku sat up, of course waking to the ever-steaming Sango. “Hello Sango,” he said, waking from his apparently nice dream. “Might I ask what I did to deserve this….interesting greeting?” Sango was tempted to strike again, but remembered the reason she had woke Miroku.

“Miroku, did you hear something a minute ago?” she asked, kneeling over his awakened body. He rubbed his face, it had gone partially numb. “Well, you see Sango, I was not awake that long ago.” He replied, sitting from up from his small, makeshift bed. Sango wondered. What had she heard? It had sounded like a large smack, echoing a smaller thump. Where had she heard it before? And she knew she had heard it before. It oddly made her want to smile…

Sango saw a figure out of the corner of her eye. With Hiraikotsu in hand, she turned, just in case a demon had chanced a visit. It was none other than Kagome, silently skipping down the hill, then jumping into camp. “Hey guys, I didn't wake you did I?” she asked, trying to hide the wide smile on her face. Sango shook her head. “No, its ok. That was you Kagome?” Kagome looked nervous a second. “Sort of. I think I remembered something I shouldn't have” she said glancing at her toes, then quickly up at the hill. “Umm, tell Inuyasha I'm sorry when he comes back. Ok?” With that, the priestess slowly walked out of camp, her bows and arrows in hand. There was something different about the way she walked. She probably wants to get some fresh air, Sango mentally noted. Kagome walked blindly towards the moonlight; Sango hoped she knew where she was going. “Shippou,” Sango whispered, nudging the soft bundle laying with Kirara.

“Kagome, you…said those were my lollipops …” he muttered, not willing to exit his sleep so easily. Sango turned to her faithful cat. “Kirara, follow Kagome, make sure she stays safe.” With that, the small kitten, pranced off, not yet ready to transform. Shippou noticing the lack of warmth, rolled toward the fire, and sighed with content. Sango smiled, and returned to her blankets. She looked once more at the hill, before she drifted to sleep. What had Kagome done to make that noise?

Kagome walked. The lone girl strode through the moonlight, following the paths that seemed to call out to her. She had seen the land in the day time, but there was so much uncaptured beauty during the nights. The roads were silent; the air was smooth and smelled of flowers. Everything seemed to glow when bathed in moonlight; it was a shame that her group never went on walks in the nights. Personally, without her memory, she couldn't remember herself taking one either, but she felt it was best thing to do.

Also considering the effect her word had on Inuyasha. What was so special about the word sit? When she saw his reaction, she had simply ran. She must have looked foolish, running away. Maybe he wasn't mad at her…No, she thought again. He's gotten mad in the past after I've said that word… he must be angry with me. Pushing the thoughts of Inuyasha out of her mind, she continued slowly. In complete honesty, she did not know where she was going, though in the past she had traveled this road many times.

The wind tugged at her clothes, nipping at her legs and face with a harsh frost. An icy sting swept her whole body; she stumbled and fell to her knees. She sniffled. How long had she been out here? The winter winds had taken their toll on her body, her clothes she realized were short and thin; it was possible to catch a cold even in the right clothing at this temperature. After a quick look up, she looked to either side. She was on an open road; a dusty path that resembled nothing to the highways of Tokyo. Which way had she come?

How had she even gotten herself into this? She coughed hard. She felt her whole body aching, a deep chill freezing her muscles over. She shivered, then sneezed again. She tried to get up, but a painful shock pierced her back. “Owch!” she yelled, falling with a groan back onto the rocky floor. A shock of warning spread through her body. Could she get back? What if she couldn't? It wasn't snowing, but the temperature surely was cold enough. She hugged her legs, suddenly sneezing. She must have caught a cold.

I'll be fine, she told herself. She sneezed once more. Inuyasha will find me…he'll…save m-me. A bitter chill fell over her body, she suddenly fell into a cold sleep; her last words echoing in her head; he'll…save…m-me...
