Chapter 3 When We First Met
Kagome’s Side
‘Well, whatever that flash was, it seems to be gone now.’ She thought. But then her eyes caught a glimpse of it again. ‘What the hell is that? Is it stalking me?’ So she decided to investigate. She grabbed her bow and arrows and headed out into the cold rain. She was only out in the rain for a few minutes when she sensed an aura. But it wasn’t the hanyou she sensed earlier. She spun around to slip in some mud and drop her bow and all her arrows. She then realized she was face to face with another snake demon, but a younger one than she destroyed at the town. ‘This must be that demons’ child looking for revenge.’ She thought as the demon lunged at her.
Inuyasha’s Side
‘What?’ he thought as he watched the figure came out of the cave into the pouring rain. ‘What the hell are they doing?’ He watched as he figured out it was a woman with long raven black hair, and beautiful pale white skin. ‘She slightly reminds me of my mother.’ He thought sadly. She slipped and it caught his attention. He saw her on the ground as a snake demon lunged at her. ‘Damn!’ He sprinted as fast as he could, he couldn’t just let her die. He reached for his open wound from the battle earlier and yelled, “Blades of blood!” Razor blades of Inuyasha’s blood ripped through the snake demon’s flesh as it hissed in pain and fell to the ground.
Kagome’s Side
‘I’m a goner.’ She thought. ‘Well, I had a good run, right?’ Her life flashed before her eyes, when she heard, “Blades of blood!” ring through the night. She saw as the snake demon was ripped to shreds from razor blades of blood. She looked to see who her savior was when she saw him. She saw the beautiful hanyou she had sensed before. His silky silver hair that fell past his waist, his molten gold eyes that pierced right through her, everything about him was beautiful to her.
“Hey, are you alright?” He asked in a kind and gentle voice as he bent down to help her stand back up.

She was kind of choked up for a moment, but she finally replied, “Yes. I’m fine, thanks to you. Thank you for saving me.” She said blushing. She couldn’t help but blush when his strong arms wrapped around her waist to help pull her up off the ground.
“Feh. It was nothing. We better get you out of the rain or you’ll catch a cold.” He stated plainly but at the same time caring. Kagome nodded and hurried to pick up her weapons that had fallen.
She was still a little shaky from her near death experience and meeting the most beautiful man she had ever seen, and she fell to her knees as she tried to pick up the arrows. Inuyasha noticed this and helped her pick them up and through them over his shoulder so he could pick her up as well. He picked her up bridal style and rushed to the cave. Kagome blushed hard, as no man had even touched her since the awful prom night.
Inuyasha felt her shivers so he pulled her closer to his chest for warmth. As she was carried to the cave and pressed up against the hanyou’s chest, she felt his firm, strong muscles that made her face turn a crimson red color again.
Inuyasha held her close as he ran towards the cave. He felt protective over her, but he didn’t know why. He had just met her and she was just another human girl. As he carried her, he felt her flesh pressed against his and he blushed right along with her.
When they finally reached the cave, Inuyasha carried her over to the fire she had built earlier, but he didn’t sit her down. He sat down next to the fire with the girl still in his arms resting her in his lap. “So what’s your name?” He asked to soaking wet woman in his arms.
“Kagome.” She replied. She wanted to ask why she was still held by the hanyou, but she didn’t mind so he held back her question.
“I’m Inuyasha.” He told her trying to be polite. He usually didn’t care to even try being polite, but this girl was different. “What is a human woman like you doing out here in the forest on a rainy night like tonight any ways?” He asked out of curiosity.
“Well, I’ve kind of been traveling for a while now.” She told him hesitantly. She didn’t want him to turn his back on her. She had this feeling that she needed him to stay with her. A reason unknown to her, however. ‘What are these feelings I’m having? I’ve never felt anything like it. Do I love this man? No. it’s impossible to love someone this soon. Right?’ Being in his arms made her feel safe and protected. She felt like she could finally rest after all this time of fighting. Her eyes started drooping, but she tried to stay awake.
Inuyasha just watched her. She was so beautiful. Her chocolate brown eyes that made him melt, her hair that was black as the night sky, and her beautiful smooth skin. He just wanted to touch it, just for a second. But he held himself back. He had just met her and he felt like he was in love. ‘I can’t love her. I only met her ten minutes ago. Where are these feelings coming from? Is it possible that I love her already?’ His thoughts were cut off when he saw she was exhausted. Her eyes were trying to stay open but he could tell she wanted to sleep. “Go to sleep, I’ll protect you.” Inuyasha told her.
Kagome’s heart fluttered as he said those words. All she did was nod as she closed her eyes and his words echoed through her mind, ‘Go to sleep, I’ll protect you.’
Throughout the night, Inuyasha just watched Kagome sleep. The wind blew, causing a chill to come over Kagome. She shivered and snuggled into Inuyasha’s warm and inviting chest. Inuyasha blushed as this beautiful woman came closer to him.
Most women that saw him were disgusted at the fact that he was a hanyou, well, most people for that matter acted like that. Humans and demons alike thought that Inuyasha was a putrid creature that should be eliminated from the Earth. These thoughts were shoved away as the woman in his arms started to whimper. He looked down to see her face squinted as if she were having a bad dream. Inuyasha laid the sleeping girls head in the crook of his neck and nuzzled his face in her hair to attempt comforting her. At least that’s how dog demons comfort others. This seemed to work because the sleeping girl breathed in, sighed and relaxed back into the hanyou’s chest.
Inuyasha took a deep breath of the woman scent. She smelt like lavender. But not just lavender, there was something else, but he couldn’t put his finger on it. It was the sweetest and most enticing scent he had ever smelt. It was so invigorating. He wanted to stay there with her forever, just taking in her scent. He didn’t know what it was about her but she seemed to be perfect for him. Everything about her was what he had always dreamed of as his perfect mate. Like his mother had told him of as a child before she die.
His face became sad. He missed his mother very much. He wished she hadn’t left hi m at such a young age, but he knew she didn’t have a choice on the matter. He decided he needed to get a little rest before morning, so he closed his eyes and inhaled the scent of the girl in his lap. “Good night, Kagome. Sweet dreams.” He told her as he drifted off the sleep.
