Chapter 15~ Cool It Doggy
Inuyasha decided the best way to cool him down would be to jump into the village stream. He stood under the tree next to the stream and took off his Fire Rat kimono and his under kimono to reveal a sculpted upper body. He rapped his tessaiga in his gi.
He looked back at the hut...*Yeah I need to cool down for sure.*
He jumped it to the cool water and bobbed back up. “How can she stand it? It’s so cold.” *Well, at least it did the trick.*
Miroku walked out of the hut and made his way over the hanyou and sat down on the edge of the stream, while the hanyou waded to the bank and climbed out.
Inuyasha being some what annoyed- “What do you want Miroku?”
Miroku looked up at the dressing hanyou-“This must be especially hard on you Inuyasha.”
Inuyahsa- “Keh.....Why do you say that?”
Miroku-“Because I know of the demon mating rituals.”
Inuyasha looked supprized- *For a mortal he sure knows a lot. * “.......Yeah, so?”
Miroku-“Even if Kagome was taken by force she will have to mate for life with Naraku and no other.”
Inuyasha -* (0_0) I didn’t even think about that.*
Miroku was quick to change the topic when he saw the pain filled face on his friend.
Miroku- “Have you ever heard of a curse like this? It’s strange that it effects all demons and humans?”
Inuyasha-“No, I’ve never heard of anything like it.”
Miroku-“I don’t understand why it affected me, when it was really meant to only affect demons.”
Inuyasha snapped-“ Maybe it’s because you’re a lech, you ever think of that?”
Miroku knew Inuyashas lash out was from his heart ache.
Miroku looked up at Inuyasha with a sympathetic look in his eyes-“How will you react to Kagome, knowing she could be bearing the child of your enemy and that it will most likely kill her?......... Her powers could kill all of us Inuyasha.”
Inuyashas eyes opened lager with a gasp to himself. (O_O)
Hearing it from someone he trusted it set it in stone-*Kagome.....How will I treat her now......I don’t know. I..I will stand beside her always.* “I’ll do anything to stop any harm coming to her. She has stayed by my side ...and I by hers. ” * All those times while I was in full demon form she risked her life to stay by my side. I could have killed her. I trust Kagome and I will never leave her.*
Inuyasha sat down on the edge of the stream with his feet in the water. He laid his head on his crossed arms that rested on his bent knees.
The mad hanyou-*There no way to tell if she is bearing a child, not for at least a full cycle of the moon......But I have to know now.*
Miroku-“I know we will all stand behind Kagome. Come what may.”
Miroku stood up behind the hanyou, and laid a hand on Inuyasha shoulder and squeezed lightly and walked off toward the hut.
Inuyasha sat there for a while lost in his own nightmarish thoughts- *Why did Kikyo help Naraku do this to Kagome?
Is it because she’s jealous of Kagome, why would she be? All this time I’ve been playing it safe and not getting involved with Kagome. To avoid all of this and now...
She’s not the same Kikyo I knew.
Now she an enemy too.
She’s just a shell of a woman I knew.
Kagome has shown me what friendship, loyalty, trust, and....love...is.
Kikyo never showed any of that to me, because she didn’t want it or didn’t feel it ...for me....
Our love was nothing more then an illusion....
Two out casts clinging to each other in a lonely world...And I was the fool who fell for it all.*
(Inuyasha hear Miroku calling).
Miroku called from the hut-“Inuyasha, Kaede wants you in here quick.”
Inuyasha watched Miroku dash back into the hut quickly, only to see him reaper out of the hut again, with his staff in hand.
Inuyasha jumped up and ran to the hut-*Kagome.*
He reached the hut-“What is it Miroku?”
Songo exited the hut quickly and jointed them.
Miroku-“Kagome started wincing in pain and woke up. I couldn’t stand it in there when she woke up. So I came out side.”
Inuyasha annoyed-“Is that all?”
Sango-“No Inuyasha, a demon is on its way here that’s why Kagome is in pain. A demon is calling to her.”
Inuyasha-“I could smell her sent thicken, that must be why.” (Sniffing the air now) I can smell the stench of wolf..”
Sango-“Koga”
Miroku-“We have to keep him fare away from Kagome.”
Inuyasha-“No kidding.” he unsheathed his tetsiga.
Sango-“No Inuyasha, Kaede needs you inside with Kagome...if you can handle it.”
Inuyasha-“Why?”
Miroku-“To protect Kagome from any demon or human including myself from ...doing anything to her.”
Sango-“You have to keep her in your sight at all time until things settle back down. Can you control yourself though Inuyasha?”
Inuyasha though for a moment-“Keh” He dashed into the hut.
Kaede-“Inuyasha come, stay next to Kagome. I have to go out side with Miroku. Kagome is under your full care. She should wake soon again.”
Kagome was fast asleep yet again in the middle of the room.
Inuyasha ( O_O )-“Don’t leave me alone with her you old hag. What if I try something?.....At least send Shippo in here.”
Kaede-“That would be a blessing but,..highly doubtful.”
Inuyasha growled at Kaede as she left the hut to join Miroku in an invisibility meditation.
Inuyasha screamed at the old woman-“He’ll still smell her anyhow......It’s Koga...I’ll kill that mangy wolf.”
Kaede said from out side the hut-“Aye, Inuyasha ye may have too. If you can while he’s in this state of mind.”
