When We First Met

Chapter 30

New Hut

Miroku lay on the ground, trying not to make anyone angry. His comment made both Inuyasha and Kagome hit him. Of course Kagome apologized afterwards. They were all still in the field talking. They were trying to figure out what to do about Naraku.

"We know nothing of his actions, so how can we do something?" Miroku asked.

"We don't know much about him." Kagome said.

"He's the only one right now that poses an actual threat." Inuyasha said.

"What about the villagers here? If youkai come to attack me knowing I have the jewel, then they're all in danger." Kagome said.

"Well, we could always move out of the village, but still be close." Sango said. "We can all move to different huts far enough from the village so that it doesn't get damaged if we're attacked, but still be close enough to walk to the village."

"That's a good idea. I mean I don't want to move away from Okaa-san but if it's to keep her and the villagers safe I'll do it." Kagome sighed. "You guys don't have to move from your families though."

"I'll be with her. Kirara should be able to sense and smell if any youkai are around." Inuyasha said.

"I'm sure Kirara will help out." Sango pet the neko in her lap. Kirara mewed in response. She jumped out of Sango's lap and into Kagome's.

Kagome smiled and pet the neko. "Arigato everyone. I should go talk to Okaa-san. Hopefully she'll understand."

"I'll go with you." Inuyasha stood up. He reached out an arm to help her up.

Kagome took his hand and stood up after Kirara jumped from her lap to Sango. "Come on Shippo." Kagome picked him up. "It's getting late. You should be getting to sleep soon."

"Alright." Shippo said. He was happy to be around. "Can I go with you if you move?"

"If you want to." Kagome smiled.

Shippo smiled and stuck his tongue out at Inuyasha's scowling face. He didn't want the little runt moving in. He wouldn't get any alone time with Kagome. He'd just have to trick Shippo or something.

"What are you smiling about?" Kagome asked.

"Huh?" Inuyasha asked. He hadn't realized he was smiling. "Nothing."

Kagome just let it drop and kept walking towards her hut. She was thinking of how to bring it up with her Okaa-san. It wasn't a subject you could bring up at any moment. She'd also have to explain what the jewel was. It wasn't something Kagome wanted to hear again. It was bad enough she'd have to sacrifice so much to protect it.

"Your back early." Ms. Higurashi said.

"Hai, I need to talk to you." Kagome said.

"Okay then, why don't you have a seat?" Ms. Higurashi said.

Inuyasha and Kagome both sat down across from her. Shippo hopped in Kagome's lap and made himself comfortable. "Well, we found out what's happening."

Kagome and Inuyasha both took turns explaining what happened with Naraku. They explained what the jewel is. "I didn't think something that horrible was happening. Is everyone okay?" Ms. Higurashi.

"Everyone is fine." Kagome said. "We were all talking and Sango brought up a good idea."

"Really what is it?"

"Well...I think it would be better to move out of the village. So if I do get attacked again, then I won't be around the villagers. They won't be in as much danger. But I'll still be close enough to walk here, just far away enough so that the village isn't in danger." Kagome explained as she nervously waited for her Okaa-san's reaction.

"Well, I guess if you think its for the best."

"Really? You're okay with it?" Kagome asked in disbelief.

"I knew something like this would happen when I found out you were a miko. I've had a while to come to terms with it. Kaede warned me this would probably happen one day." Ms. Higurashi said. "Just let me know if I can help in anyway."

"Hai, I will." Kagome smiled. "Arigato Okaa-san."

"So have you searched for a location to build a hut?" Ms. Higurashi asked.

"No, I wanted to talk to you first." Kagome said.

"Well, make sure its close and near water."

"Hai." Kagome nodded.

"You could look for a location now. It's not that late and dinner won't be ready for a while." Ms. Higurashi said. "Maybe Inuyasha has an idea of where a good location would be."

"I should be able to find one pretty easily if I stand on top of a tree and look over everything." Inuyasha said.

"That's a great way to find a location." Ms. Higurashi said.

"I guess I could look now." Kagome stood up and took Shippo with her. Inuyasha followed her outside. "So, do you already know of an area?"

"Maybe." Inuyasha smirked.

"Well, where is it?" Kagome asked.

Inuyasha bent down and indicated for Kagome to get on his back. After she got on and was comfortable, he ran to the area he thought she'd love. He'd found it a while ago and used to go there every once in a while on the new moon. It was secluded and not too far away from either village.

Letting Kagome and Shippo down from his back, Inuyasha waited for them to say something.

Kagome was in awe. There was a lot of space. It was near the river and close to the villages, but still far away enough so that neither village would be damaged. Now all they had to do was build a hut. It probably wouldn't take long if the villagers helped.

"It's great!" Kagome hugged Inuyasha.

Inuyasha smiled and hugged her back. He stuck his tongue out at Shippo for earlier. Shippo growled lowly and jumped on Kagome's shoulder. He bit Inuyasha's ear and jumped into Kagome's arms when Inuyasha backed up.

"You little runt!" Inuyasha growled.

"Shippo, that wasn't very nice." Kagome scolded.

"But he stuck his tongue out at me." Shippo whined.

"Inuyasha!" Kagome yelled.

"I didn't do anything!" Inuyasha said. "That brat bit my ear."

"You guys need to be nicer to each other." Kagome said and moved to rub Inuyasha's ear.

He leaned more toward her so she could reach his ear better. She stopped before he was able to enjoy it. Disappointed, Inuyasha bent over so she could get on his back. After she got on, he ran back towards the hut.

(I'm not going into detail about how the hut was built. That's not really important and it'd probably be boring.)

A week later the hut was built. The villagers helped to build the hut and provided materials. They either claimed to owe Kagome a favor for all of her help or they feared being attacked by youkai.

"It looks great!" Kagome said. It was the first time she'd seen it since the location was picked.

"Yeah, those villagers actually did something right." Inuyasha scoffed.

"Inuyasha!" Kagome hit him. "They can do more than build huts. You don't have to be so mean. They did build it for free."

"They just built it because they didn't want to get hurt." Inuyasha mumbled.

"What was that?" Kagome asked threateningly.

"Nothing. Just go look inside the hut." Inuyasha said.

"Have you seen it already?" Kagome asked.

"Of course. I did all the heavy lifting and most of the building." Inuyasha bragged.

Kagome ignored him and walked inside. It had three rooms and a front room. "It's great! Why did they make so many rooms? No one knows your staying with me." She asked.

"I told them too." Inuyasha said.

"You didn't tell them that you were going to stay here did you?" Kagome asked.

"And have them worry about you being ravished by a hanyou?" Inuyasha said. "Of course I didn't tell them. I just said you like your space."

"Oh, okay." Kagome said. "I should get the futons and stuff from Okaa-san. She said she'd have them by today."

"I'll go with you." Inuyasha said.

They walked to her Okaa-san's hut. "Kagome, I have the things you wanted." Ms. Higurashi said.

"Arigato." Kagome said.

"Let me know if you need anything else." Ms. Higurashi hugged her daughter.

"Hai." Kagome said. Inuyasha grabbed the stuff from her. They began to walk to their hut.

After getting everything set up, Kagome sat down to take a rest. Inuyasha sat beside her. It was a long day. It was almost dark.

"Kagome!" She recognized it as Sango's voice.

She stood to join her outside. Miroku and Kirara were with her too. "What are you doing here?" Kagome asked.

"We just wanted to make sure you were settled and to bring him back." Sango said.

"Bring who back?" Kagome asked.

"Shippo. Didn't you know he was with us?" Sango asked.

"No, Inuyasha said he was playing outside." Kagome looked at Inuyasha threateningly.

"Really?" Miroku asked. "He asked me to watch him for a while."

"Did he?" Kagome asked as she continued to glare at him.

"Well, I think I'll keep Shippo with me tonight so you can argue." Miroku said. He grabbed the little kitsune and headed home.

"See you tomorrow Kagome." Sango shouted and left with Miroku.

"Wait! I want to stay with Kagome! Let me go!" Shippo shouted. He fought to get out of Miroku's hold.

Inuyasha dragged her back into the hut. "I thought it would be better to pack without him in the way." He explained once they were inside. "Besides, it's been a week since I've marked you."

Kagome blushed and sat down. Without even being asked she moved her hair to the side to give him access to her neck. Inuyasha smiled and sat down next to her. He gently kissed and licked her neck. He placed his arms on her waist to keep her from moving. Slowly he sank his fangs into her neck.

Shivering Kagome wrapped her arms around Inuyasha's neck. She moaned when he licked her neck clean of the blood. He continued to lap at her neck with his tongue.

He gently pushed Kagome back down on the futon. She was too absorbed in what was happening to notice. Inuyasha moved further down and nudged open her yukata with his nose. He kissed in between her breasts before moving up to her lips. He coaxed her mouth open with his tongue and brushed against hers.

"Kagome." He whispered.

Kagome knew what he wanted. She'd thought about it while the hut was being built. Since they were going to live together, they'd have a little bit more privacy. The last time he marked her things went a little further. She thought more about if she wanted to be his mate or not.

She realized that she wanted to spend the rest of her life with him. "Inuyasha...I want to be your mate." She said shyly.

Inuyasha smiled and leaned down to kiss her. "You sure your ready?" He asked. "I don't want to force you."

"No, I'm ready." Kagome's already red face turned even brighter.

Smiling again Inuyasha leaned down to kiss her. After she relaxed a little bit he began to untie the sash around her waist. He helped her sit up so he could slip the yukata off of her shoulders. Once it hit the ground he gawked at her voluptuous body. Her tanned skin, nice curves, and full breasts.

Kagome began to feel a little self conscious at his gaze. Before she could cover herself Inuyasha leaned her back on the futon. "Perfect." He smiled and kissed her so she would relax.

Inuyasha moved down to kiss her neck as he started untying his haori. After it was loose, Kagome pushed it off of his shoulders. Her fingers glided over his skin and traced his muscles. He shivered at the feeling.

He moved from her lips down to her breasts. He hesitantly kissed her breast to see if she liked it. The loud moan convinced him that she liked it. Encouraged by the noise she made he took the breast into his mouth while his hand massaged the neglected breast.

Kagome started rubbing the base of his ears. He moaned and started to untie his pants. He kicked them off to the side and hovered over soon to be mate. "This might hurt. Just relax." Inuyasha said.

"Hai." Kagome said shakily.

She urged her body to relax but was having some trouble. Inuyasha sensed it and kissed her to help her relax. Slowly he entered her. Kagome tensed as he moved inside of her. They both panted heavily, covered in sweat.

Inuyasha was having trouble controlling himself. Her warmth was consuming him and it took all he had so he wouldn't lose himself in the feeling. He stilled his movements so she could adjust to him.

Kagome cried out as he broke past her barrier. She buried her face in his neck as she held onto him. She could distantly hear Inuyasha trying to comfort her. The pain was slowly ebbing away with time and was being replaced with a pleasant feeling.

"Are you...okay?" Inuyasha managed to ask.

She nodded and loosened her grip a bit. She nodded again to let him know it was okay to go on. Inuyasha kissed her and began a slow rhythm. They both moaned as they moved together.

Kagome no longer felt any pain as she met his thrusts with her own. The feeling of being one was so intense. She could feel herself winding as if to release something greater in the end. Inuyasha was feeling the same thing.

There rhythm began picking up pace as their pleasure grew. Not being able to get enough they moved faster. Inuyasha kissed and licked her neck. He needed to mark her during the mating. It was coming to an end.

Inuyasha felt her muscles tighten around him as he continued to thrust into her. He was also on edge. Finally with another thrust Kagome screamed out her release and Inuyasha sank his fangs into her neck. The intense feeling of becoming mates threw him off the edge.

Inuyasha collapsed halfway on top of Kagome and they both rode out their aftershocks. Once each of them caught their breaths, they pulled the blanket over themselves. They both lay on their sides. Inuyasha wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed the mark he made on her neck.

"Inuyasha?"

"Hmm."

"Did you ask Miroku to take Shippo for the night?" Kagome asked.

"..."

"Inuyasha."

"Go to sleep. We'll talk in the morning." Inuyasha said ignoring her question. She'd be mad if she found out that he did ask Miroku to take him.

Her even breathing told him she was asleep. Hopefully she would forget about Miroku taking Shippo. He hugged her from behind and kissed her shoulder.

"I love you Kagome." Inuyasha whispered knowing she couldn't hear him.
