Sasuke sighed as he watched the small flame of their camp fire. Sasuke and Kakashi had been traveling for 2 days, on foot. It was about a 3 day trip to Sound if they moved fast. They were suppose to meet a young man named Haku from Mist for a boat so they could sail across the sea to the southern region of the Sound borders so they could sneak in without being noticed.
“You should get some rest, Sasuke. I’ll take watch” Kakashi said as he came up behind Sasuke who simply nodded and went to his sleeping bag.
Sasuke dozed off, his mind filled with worry and other thoughts as he closed his eyes and nodded off to sleep. When Sasuke woke up, it was still dark. Kakashi hovered over him with his visible eye curved up which meant he was smiling.
“Morning, Sasuke. Time to go” he said as Sasuke sat up and got out of his sleeping bag.
“Time?” Sasuke asked while rolling up his sleeping bag and hoisting it onto his bag.
“Should be about 4” Kakashi replied while watching the Uchiha finish packing and hoist his bag onto his back.
“Better hurry. Haku said he would arrive at 4:30” Sasuke informed while walking past Kakashi who hurriedly followed behind.
The two walked in silence as they grew nearer and nearer to the shores. Water came in sight as the two ran up to the sea, looking for the dock where they were suppose to meet the young lad.
“There” Sasuke nodded towards a dock further down the shore where a young man with long black hair stood with a small boat.
Sasuke and Kakashi hid in the forest area right by the water, hiding behind bushes and trees as they stealthily made their way to the boy.
A throwing needle hit a tree Sasuke was currently hiding behind just when they made it to the spot where the boy stood.
“Come out” Haku shouted as Sasuke and Kakashi pushed passed the bushes and came out to stand in front of the forest area. “Uchiha Sasuke, I presume?” he asked as Sasuke nodded and walked up to Haku with Kakashi.
Kakashi narrowed his eye as he looked the boy over. He had very long black hair placed in a bun, except for 2 side bangs. He wore a pair of tan pants and a light brown turtle neck with a dark green kimono top with light green lining. Kakashi couldn’t see his face because he wore a white porcelain mask with 4 red marks on the forehead.
“The boat is ready, I have someone on the other side waiting for you. He can show you around Sound and help you into Orochimaru’s fortress” Haku said as he watched Sasuke and Kakashi get into the boat.
“And how are you getting back to Mist?” Sasuke asked as he noticed they were in the only boat.
“I’m going to lay low here for a few days, when you get done with the boat please deliver it to Wave” Haku requested as he began to walk off towards the forest area.
Kakashi watched as the boy disappeared in the shrubbery then looked back at Sasuke.
“He seemed familiar. How did you find him?” he asked while Sasuke handed him a paddle.
“Zabuza the leader of Wave sent him for me” Sasuke answered as him and his silver haired sensei began to paddle through the water.
“What about this person who is suppose to meet us in Sound?”
“That wasn’t part of what I discussed with Zabuza so he must be a spy for Haku or something” Sasuke said as he narrowed his eyes, trying to see through the small morning fog over the water.
Kakashi scowled as they continued through the water.
It was 20 minutes before the sight of Sound came into view. After another 5 minutes, the two placed their luggage into the center of the boat and took off their shirts. Both placed their shirts into their bags and covered the bags with a sheet. Sasuke and Kakashi nodded to each other before jumping out of the boat and into the cold water. Both made sure to keep themselves semi hidden as they placed their hands under the boat and guided it towards the shore, them paddling along as they got closer and closer to a high dock.
“Head towards the under shore of the dock” Kakashi mumbled from his side of the boat.
Sasuke nodded the best he could and continued swimming towards the under shore. As they got closer and closer, the sight of someone in a large, white, hooded over coat came into view. The coat blended with the sand of the beach and the person’s face was hidden in the hood.
‘That must be the spy’ Sasuke thought as him and Kakashi swam closer then sank their heads further into the water to the point where they couldn’t be seen.
The boat came to the shore with a small swishing sound as the front went into the wet sand. Sasuke and Kakashi stayed hidden behind the boat as the person came over and looked into the boat, quickly catching onto where the two were actually.
“Don’t worry Mr.Uchiha, I was the one sent by Haku-sama” the man said through the shadow of his hood.
Sasuke and Kakashi poked their head out of the water and eyed the man. They both looked at each other before getting out of the water and walking up to the sandy land.
“Welcome Uchiha-san” the man bowed. “and I believe this must be your company, Mr. Hatake Kakashi.”
“That’s right” Sasuke replied as he looked up at the large dock above them, most likely used for large ships.
“And who might you be?” Kakashi asked as he looked at the cloaked man in front of them.
“Oh me?” he repeated while taking the hood and slowly pulling it down. “My name is…”
