Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ Loveless Suna ❯ Chapter 14 ( Chapter 14 )

[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]

Voilà, next chapter. I've written this in one day, which is a miracle.
Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto and never will.
For fifteen minutes I had been watching Tsunade and Gaara planning their defense while Temari and Kankuro had been rushing in and out to retrieve the wanted ninja's. That's why at the moment Iruka was companying me on the sofa, I thanked Kami was present in the office, while Kakashi was receiving orders.
A couple of ANBU's appeared through the window and fascinated I watched the kages like real leaders give orders. In the next five minutes a lost my company, who was ordered to evacuate the children to the academy and finally Gaara turned back to me.
“I'll take you to the hospital.” He said already pulling me up into his arms.
“Tell Sakura to get her ass in here, while you're at it!” I heard Tsunade yell before we left her office.
-
When the sand had settled down I noticed that we were in the staffroom which contained only one nurse at the moment. The nurse was looking shocked at us with her hands still in her hair undoing her ponytail.
“Ka… Kazekage-sama?” She mumbled stunned.
“Could you get Haruno Sakura in here?” Gaara asked her and she got over her surprise. She nodded and left in search for the pink head.
“You need to stay here and don't let anyone see you.” The redhead turned his head back to me while his hands were caressing my arms.
“Not even during the attack?” I asked surprised.
“No.” Gaara said short and I looked oddly at him.
“How can I help people if I'm not allowed to see anyone?” I noticed the Kazekage getting irritated. I knew he just wanted me to be safe, but still I wanted to help.
“Only when needed.” Gaara compromised after a second and I gave him a kiss as thanks, which quickly heated up.
“Oh, sorry, am I interrupting something?” Sakura asked teasingly standing in the doorway. “You two didn't even hear me open the door.” She chuckled closing it behind her. Childish I stuck my tongue out at her and snuggling in Gaara's neck pulling him closer.
“Well, I'm glad you're save, Shizuka and in the capable hands of our Kazekage-sama.” She said honestly and I felt that Kage smile in my hair. “But why are you here?” She continued and Gaara finally withdrew out of my hair.
“The attack is going to start and Shizuka needs to be in safety.” He answered, which made Sakura look at me. `So sweet' were her eyes radiating and I felt a blush come on.
“Well, there's this one room that we never use. We kind of changed it in a storage room since the real one was destroyed last month.” She explained and I noticed the approved look on Gaara's face. “Come on, I'll show you.” The pink haired girl opened the door and walk out expecting us to follow her, but the sand-nin stopped me.
“Gaara?”
“We can't have anyone see you.” He said eyeing the door guardedly.
“I'm sure that room isn't that far away.” I tried to persuade him, but he didn't make a move. “Gaara!” I was getting irritated by his attitude, but he only stared emotionlessly at me.
“What's keeping you two so long?” Sakura barged the room back in.
“She needs to be disguised.” The redhead said bluntly, which made the medical-nin look confused from him to me.
“Alright then. I can give you my robe.” She suggested and I gratefully nodded. She pulled my disguise out of her locker and held it open for me. I quickly put it on with her help and waited for the approval of my two watchers.
“She's still too noticeable.” Gaara mumbled unpleased and Sakura dove back in her locker. This time she pulled to my surprise another headband out of it and as a bandana wrapped it around my head, making sure that my bangs covered my eyes.
“Isn't this a little too much?” I asked doubtful, but Gaara shock his head.
“It's good.” He approved and Sakura slipped the room back out, but this time really being followed by the Kazekage and me.
“Stay behind me.” Gaara whispered before quickening his pace to get in front of me. While we were walking I noticed a lot of people, especially girls/women staring dreamingly at him. I knew that for once it was a good thing that they kept gazing at him instead of noticing me, but I still didn't like it.
`He loves me.' I put myself at rest, but couldn't help but take in his back. `He can get everyone he wants and he hasn't really confessed to me yet. What if it's just a crush that's going to end when he finally meets the one that's meant for him?' I thought frightened. `I'm not from this world, so there's a good change that somewhere in this world there's a girl that was supposed to set his heart free again… instead of me.' I felt an unidentified pain in my heart and started biting my lip. `What if Naruto made a mistake? What if…' I shot out of my thoughts when I heard a door close behind me.
-
“Well, well, this is something I wasn't expecting.” Sakura said staring surprised at the bed in the storage room, which was occupied by two very know figures making out. Neji looked shocked up, he probably didn't understand why he hadn't sensed us. He was the prodigy of the Huuyga clan after all, but I guess having Ino kissing you're brains out could do that to a man.
“Jesus, if we would have been a couple of minutes later, the two of you would be naked.” I started to tease, which made Gaara look funny at me.
“Jesus?” He mumbled confused, but to my surprise didn't get jealous at all.
“Oh, couldn't you work faster? I would have died to see Neji naked!” Sakura squealed like the little girl, who was obsessed with Sasuke, she once was at Ino. The blonde glared as answered while the Huuyga quickly adjusted his clothes making him back in the perfect prodigy.
“Hehe, that's two in a row.” Sakura chuckled which made Ino look questionable at her. “First you two and then you two.” She said first pointing to Gaara and me and then to the couple on the bed. I again blushed a nice shade of red, while Ino jumped up.
“You two did it!” She yelled accusingly and I turned even redder.
“You're slow we did it more then a month ago.” I mumbled defensively and my lover continued in a low tone that only I could here.
“Only because they keep interrupting us now.”
“What!” Sakura and Ino cried out. “And you didn't tell us?”
“Well, between getting attacked and kidnapped. I didn't have lot of time to inform you two.” I answered back in my normal tone, completely ignoring how embarrassing this subject actually was with my partner-in-crime standing right beside me.
“Enough of this. You're all wanted at the Hokage's.” Gaara stopped the conversation from getting even more embarrassing.
“We're on our way, Kazekage-sama.” The Huuyga said completely taking his dignity back while he pulled Ino of the bed. Still holding her hand he led her out of the room, clearly on his way to the Hokage tower.
“They're cute.” I said watching them leave.
“Yeah, who would have thought that there was such a pervert in the Huuyga prodigy?” Sakura said clearly recalling the scene from before. Gaara ignored her and gave me a last kiss after reminding me to stay in this room.
Then his sand pulled Sakura closer, just not toughing and they left. With a puff I looked back at the bed and decided that I'm definitely going to change the sheets. Who knows how many times Ino and Neji had retreated to this room. But before I start pulling off the sheets I took off my disguise. I throw them on a couple of boxes and to my luck noticed an angle of clean sheets sticking out of one.
Once the bed was changed a let myself fall down on it and stared at the ceiling. `Please let everything work out.' I wished and let out a sigh. My head turned towards the window and I started cloud gazing. `There really are some odd shapes. Hmm, this really is relaxing no wonder Shikamaru is always doing this.' My eye lids were getting heavy and eventually dropped close until I heard a big bang. In a second I was standing before the window, but didn't find the expected cloud of smoke.
“Euh, the sound came from this side, didn't it.” I questioned, but of course didn't get an answer.
“Well, the attack has begun, so now I've got to help them one way or another.” I decided skipping out of the room. When I saw the madness in the hallway I started to think I had a déjà-vu. Almost wishing it really was one, I looked at the door in front of me, but of course Souta didn't step out.
“Shizuka, get a grip!” I said sternly to myself and start making my way outside.
-
“Help…” My feet stopped as reflex and I searched for the source of that cry. I opened a couple of doors and the third showed an old woman, who was lying exhausted on the floor. When she looked up at me, she started stunned at me.
“You!” She cried out and jumped up pulling me in her arms.
“Wha…” I started to ask surprised wondering where she got the energy for suddenly jumping up like that, but she interrupted me.
“Souta's going to be so happy to see you.” She said and finally I recognized her.
“You're the one that was helping him to escape.” I said stunned and the old lady released me with a smile. “How is he? How is Souta?” I asked her desperately. All this time, I had been hoping that he was alright and now I found someone, who could answer that question.
“He's fine, but he as been quiet and not letting anyone get close to him anymore.” She answered sadly and I knew it was partly my fault. I had said that I would protect him and then just like his parents disappeared.
“I'll go and see him, but first why were you crying for help?” I asked confused, but curious. She was safe here in the hospital; because well that was the reason why Gaara wanted me here.
“Oh right, here.” She forced a scroll in my hand which I accepted confused. “You need to bring this to the Hokage. There's information about the Matshuo clan in it.” She answered seriously. It surprised me that she could get so serious all of a sudden.
“Alright… but how do you know that it's the Matshuo clan, who's attacking?” I asked suspiciously and got an innocent smile back.
“When you're so old like me you tend to pick up on things.”
“Alright, I'll get it to the Hokage.” I said deciding to trust her; she did save Souta after all. She nodded thanking me and I quickly left her room.
“Come visited me some time!” I heard her yell after me.
`What a time for inviting people.' I thought shaking my head, dodging a couple of people.
-
When I finally got outside I noticed that the attack had started at the other side of the village this time.
“That's way I couldn't see it form the window.” I mumbled and started running towards it. I noticed that there was nobody on the streets except here and there a couple of ninja's.
“Stop, you should get yourself in safety.” An ANBU appeared out of nowhere. I would have bumped into him, it was a guy I noticed, if he hadn't stopped me with his arms.
“I need to bring this to the Hokage!” I made him clear showing the scroll.
“I'll…” He started, but quickly stopped to pick me up and jumped on a roof. Surprised a looked back at the place where we had just been standing and noticed a strange metal chain with a sharp point stuck in the ground.
“Ohw, I missed.” I heard someone chuckle, but didn't see our attacker.
“Get going, the Hokage is near the south wall.” The ANBU ordered me while he started to make a couple of movements. To my surprise the roof under me changed in to some kind of slide that brought me to next street.
“He wouldn't have been Yamato or Tenzou or whatever his real name is, would he?” I questioned the air around me before making my way to the south. I had to make a couple of detours whenever I stumbled on a fight, but it seemed that the Matshuo clan hadn't gotten far yet.
I knew that they all must have sensed me, but because I don't have any chakra or maybe a very low one, they probably didn't pay attention to me.
-
`Finally.' I thought when I saw sand smashing a couple of strange ninja's in the distance, I guessed that the victims where from the Matshuo clan. Then I heard the sound of smashing metal coming closer and quickly searched for cover in an ally. Curious who it was, I sneaked a little glance and my eyes almost fell out of my head.
`It's that black haired woman.' Stunned I watched her attacking a team of genins, who probably just graduated from the academy.
`Actually seeing that they can keep up with her makes her kind of pathetic. She really isn't that great, maybe that's way she loves attacking me.' I made up and let out a little chuckle that to bad for me, she heard.
“What!” She screamed pulling my attention back to her. “You're supposed to be getting married!” She continued and I saw the three genins looking suspiciously at me.
“In your dreams!” I answered riling her up.
“You're not going to stand in my way again!” She cried like a maniac and run towards me.
“Oh shit, this day is full of déjà-vu's.” I mumbled getting ready to make my escape, but before I could take a step, a katana pierced the woman's heart. Shocked I watched her fall on the ground.
“You'll make it to Hokage some time.” I heard a familiar voice praise the attacker. Shocked I looked up and saw Shori stand behind the three genins with his hand on the middle one, who clearly had thrown the katana.
Stephke23: I do hope it doesn't come over too rushed, but I really wanted to give you another chapter. And I know it's impossible to have Shori already in Konoha, but I'll explain next chapter just how he got here so fast. Please review to make my happy!
