Um, Sorry for not updating in a while but I've had school and homework so uh….anyway I really need reviews! Sorry for begging in the last chapter. Enjoy and please R&R!!!

 

Chapter 5:Return of the Twin Vessels

 

It had been a week since he had found them and they still hadn't woken up! Itachi sighed as he glanced at the two figures in his bed. Both girls had changed over the years.

 

Hikaru's normally blue-black hair was now streaked with an eye-blinding while and reached her waist and she had some kind of black writing on her right arm that reached from her fingers to her shoulder. Kaoru, on the other hand, had her silver hair tipped with an iridescent black and her hair reached her elbows. Both of them looked so peaceful.

 

Itachi flinched as the door creaked open, then relaxed when he recognized Kisame's hoarse voice. “Hey Itachi, you okay?” he asked,” You haven't left this room for a week and you've barely eaten”

 

“Thank you for your concern Kisame,” muttered Itachi, “But I'm fine.” Kisame snorted and growled, “Sure, anyway, do you know these kids?” “Yes, they are from Konohagakure,” answered Itachi as he carefully swept a lock away from Kaoru's face.

 

“Hm, I thought you broke all you're ties with that village” said Kisame as he stared at the twins. “I thought I did,” thought Itachi out loud as he started to daydream.

 

Flashback

“Hey Itachi, ITACHI!!!” yelled Hikaru as she ran through the forest, holding Kaoru's hand. “Maybe he's at home?” suggested Kaoru. “Nah, he's always in the forest training!” replied Hikaru.

 

Suddenly they were swept up into the air by Itachi and swung around in circles. The girls shrieked with laughter as they landed on Itachi.

 

He grunted and said, “Man, you guys have to lose weight.” The girls glared at him simultaneously and screamed, “ARE YOU CALLING ME FAT???”

 

Itachi gulped and closed his eyes. He spent the rest of the day under the wrath of the twin vessels and it wasn't pretty

End Flashback

 

Itachi grinned while Kisame stared at him with a strange look on his face that said, “Dude…WTF?” Suddenly Hikaru stirred and slowly opened her black eyes that where now slightly a silver color.

 

“Hikaru? You're awake!” gasped Itachi as he ran over to her. Hikaru stared at him for a while until she said one word. “Itachi?” she asked hesitantly as she put one hand on his cheek.

 

“Yes Hikaru, it's Itachi,” replied Itachi as he hugged her. Hikaru grew stiff and pushed Itachi away. Itachi gave her a confused look as she continued to crawl to the other edge of the bed and stroke her sister's hair. “Hikaru, what's wrong?” asked Itachi as he tried to touch her cheek.

 

Hikaru stiffened and Itachi quickly pulled away, not wanting to frighten her. “You…you hate me. Why did you pull Kaoru and me out of our barrier? We were safe from people and people were safe from us. Why couldn't you just leave us alone?” cried Hikaru as tears started to drip down her face.

 

Itachi quickly wiped away her tears and hugged her again murmuring, “I don't hate you.” “Really?” asked Hikaru hopefully as her eyes widened. “Really” replied Itachi as he stroked her hair.

 

Someone coughed and both turned to see Kisame with a huge smirk. “Well, sorry to break up the love fest, but I think the other girl's awake now.” laughed Kisame as Kaoru slowly woke up and cutely rubbed the sleep from her eyes. “Tachi!” yelled Kaoru as she realized one of her friends and glomped him.

 

Itachi laughed, to Kisame's amazement, and said, “It's been a long time, hasn't it Kaoru?” Kaoru nodded when her stomach growled. “Ummm, who's hungry?” asked Kaoru sheepishly while everyone else sweatdropped.

 

 

 

Kisame was staring with an unbelieving glance at the two girls who were now in different clothing and were sparing with Deideira. These girls, Hikaru and Kaoru, had actually made Itachi laugh. THE Itachi Uchiha who was so cold blooded that he killed his own clan and rarely speaks.

 

“Hah! It's 5-1, Deideira-kun!” yelled Hikaru as she gave a victory sign with her fingers. Deideira scowled and attacked yet again. “Deideira, stop it. I've gotten an answer from the Leader,” muttered Itachi as he came into the training ground.

 

He had gone to the Leader to explain things and get permission to let Hikaru and Kaoru to go back to Konoha. “Okay, so what did he say?” asked Kaoru innocently while she continued to beat up Deideira.

 

Itachi sighed and answered, “You are to go as Genin of Kirigakure for the Chunnin Exams. You are to go undercover and you are also to reveal your identity only to the Hokage.”

 

“Okay I guess,” murmured Hikaru, “When are we to leave?” “You are to leave in three hours, pack!” ordered Itachi. The twins nodded and raced off.
