Alana walked down the streets and to the park while the sun was beaming on her face. The park was mostly dead since school was in session. Mostly Eldarians were around. Alana sat on the grass and watched the aliens play with each other. The small ones chasing tails and laughing. She smiled then laid back and let her long black hair feather over the grass as she looked up at the sky. It was a nice day. How could anyone want to go to school on a day like this?
"Get back here!"
Yori stuck out his tongue as the humans tried to chase him. "I paid for this fair and square! It's mine!"
"I don't sell stuff to damn Eldarians!"
Yori rolled his eyes. All this for a loaf of bread and some milk? This was just getting ridiculous. Sliding to a stop, he let his claws come out as he turned back to the humans. One of them started to swing a bat at him, but with a quick flick of his wrist the wooden bat fell to pieces. "Boo!" he hissed.
Without guns, the humans quickly ran away. They were no match for him unless they had weapons. He'd paid for the food, so they could get over it.
Alana covered her ears. Someone was getting yelled out for being non-human. It was ruining her perfect day. She closed her eyes while her hands covered her ears to drown out the yelling. Was it getting closer? She wasn't sure. She didn't move, her body stayed on the grass.
Yori chuckled as the humans ran off. Going to a local Eldarian park, he popped the lid off of the bottle of milk and began to sip it lovingly. As he walked through the park, he noticed a familiar form. "Don't you humans have school or something?" He plopped down on the grass. She was in his spot. It was the perfect spot. The sun always hit that spot around this time making it warm and great to curl up in for a day time nap.
Alana opened her eyes. That voice was getting so annoying. "Hello, fish boy. Quit stalking me."
you're stalking me." He smirked and opened up the loaf of bread. His claws sliced through it making it more bite-sized. "And the name's not 'fish-boy'."
Alana sat up. "You happen to be in my way, I went to a place most people go, and this isn't the only park for fish boys," she said and took some of the bread. She popped it into his mouth. "Shoo kitty cat. There are other green spots to sit that isn't next to me."
"Let's see. You run into me. You come to an Eldarian fighting ring. Now you're laying down in an Eldarian park. If anyone's stalking anyone you're stalking me." He smirked and opened up the loaf of bread. His claws sliced through it making it more bite-sized. "And the name's not 'fish-boy'."
Alana sat up. "You happen to be in my way, I went to a place most people go, and this isn't the only park for fish boys," she said and took some of the bread. She popped it into her mouth. "Shoo kitty cat. There are other green spots to sit that isn't next to me."
Yori's ear's flattened as he glared at her. "I'm not a kitty cat," he said. "And you happen to be in my spot."
Alana smirked. "You eat fish, you have kitty ears, and you are drinking milk out of the bottle...pretty cat like to me. And I don't see your name on this spot." She reached over and pet his ears. "Hmmm, I always wanted to do that. I never thought they were that soft." She laid back down. "Kinda cool. Wish I had kitty ears."
Yori's cheeks flushed. "Hey don't do that! Our ears are really sensitive!" His tail wrapped around his leg as he finished eating his bread. Downing the rest of the milk, he looked longingly at his spot. Finally he just growled in frustration and started to curl up beside her. "You're the first human to touch my ears. You're weird."
"Please tell me you are not curling next to me..." She looked over at him. Reaching over she grabbed his tail and started playing with it. "I'm not weird. I just do what I want. Nice tail. With I had a kitty tail."
"H-hey!" He sat up quickly and grabbed his tail. "You can't just touch whatever you like! You can't go around groping people."
Alana looked at him. "I'm not. Just you, fish boy."
He growled. "My name is not fish boy! And what makes you think that you can just do whatever you please with me?"
"Because you saw me in my underwear," she said. She sat up. "Hungry? Let's get some food. I'll buy."
"Food!" Any qualms he had about this girl were quickly nullified. He was on all fours looking up at her pleadingly. Food sounded so good. "And by the way, it wasn't as if I saw your underwear on purpose."
Alana glared at him. "If you don't stop acting like a house cat I'm going to start calling you mittens," she warned. "And it doesn't matter. You saw. There for, I own you for a bit. Come along, fish boy. There is a sea food place new by."
"You call me mittens and I'll personally slice and dice you." He didn't know what she meant by owing him, but it couldn't be that bad. After all, she was giving him free food. What was the worst that could happen with that?
"Doing that in public for your kind is suicidal," she said as they walked to the sea food place. She walked in. It was fancy, really fancy. Walking up to the front desk she smile.
"Alana, how wonderful that you have finally come to see us again. How is your aunt?" the reservations man asked.
"I don't know. Maybe she died. Wouldn't that be great?"
He laughed. "Follow me. I'll have your table ready for you." Her took her to a window seat and put another chair for Yori. "I see you have a friend today."
"No, not really. Just some guy I picked up."
"Oh..." He smiled at Yori and handed him and digital menu. "Enjoy," he said and walked away.
Alana pushed a few buttons on the menu. "Get what you want," she said without looking up.
Yori looked around the place, taking everything in. This place was nice, much nicer than his kind was allowed him. "I take it you must be really important for me to be able to get in here," he said, looking down at the digital menu. The prices of the food there was outrageous! Then again, with as much money as she was carrying on her the other night, she didn't have money problems.
Alana shrugged. "I'm not important at all. Just a girl with a rich aunt. I abuse her money like crazy to get back at her for leaving me here in this hell hole all the time while she is in the big cities living it up. I hate that bitch so much..." Alana set her menu out and someone came over, bringing the drinks and appetizers she wanted. She pushed the plate towards Yori. "Help yourself."
Yori licked his lips as he stared down at the food. Looking up at her and then to the people who were staring at him, he cleared his throat and picked up a fork. He looked at it for a second, before awkwardly trying to use it. There was a reason his people didn't eat a places like this. It was hard using silverware with their claws.
"Why do you hate this place so much? It's not that bad. I've been to worse." As soon as he managed to get the fish into his mouth his ears perked up. "This is good!"
Alana grabbed his fork. "Use your claws. Be yourself. Who cares what people think?" she said. "And I have my own reasons for hating this place. I'm glad you like the food. Wait until the real food gets here. We can get more for you to take back to your family if you want."
Yori's ears lowered as he looked at the others. His claws lowered more as he began to pick at his food. "Not that I'm not grateful for all of this...but why exactly are you doing this? Other than to uh...piss your aunt off?"
Alana sat back in her chair. Using her hands just like him, she grabbed some food and put it in her mouth. "Because you sat beside me today. And because I can. Why not? Can't you just enjoy it without question? Don't worry. I have no intention of doing anything to you." Their meals came and Alana smiled. The platters were large. "This place is the best place to come when your hungry. Eat all you want."
He couldn't refuse free food. After all it was free...and it was food. What more could he say? The food was gone much quicker than anyone expected. Yori smiled as he rubbed his stomach. It truly was the food of the gods! "That was great!" He was smiling from ear to ear. Looking down at his plate, his smile fell slightly. He'd eaten all of it. He had been planning to save some for his sisters, but he couldn't help himself. It was as if the food just disappeared! "Is your offer about the food still good? You know...for my family?"
Alana handed him a menu. "Yes. Order anything you wish." She motioned for the waiter to take their plates.
Once more Yori was smiling. "You're pretty cool rich girl!" He smirked. Let's see how she liked nicknames when she was the one with the stupid name. Their meals had been expensive enough, so he just ordered something cheap that had a lot with it. That would be enough for his sisters. The two little ones didn't eat much. They'd be so surprised when he brought this home to them.
After getting everything packed up, Alana had them add a few deserts then told them to put it on her aunts tab. She walked out with Yori and handed him the bags. "Don't stalk me anymore, ok? It's kind of creepy," she said. "Goodbye, fish boy," she said and started towards home.
He watched her start to leave. He was gonna give her a witty retort, but she had been nice therefore he would be to. "Rich girl!" He didn't bother running. Humans had decent hearing so she should be able to hear him. Well, that and he was yelling rather loudly. "What's your name?"
Alana turned around and smiled. "Alana," she said. She didn't ask for his back. She didn't think she would ever see him again. But it was nice...having someone to talk to. Even if it was just for lunch. Giving him another wave, she turned back around and started walking again.
Yori smiled. "Alana," he said. What an odd name. He liked it. Looking down at the food for his family, he bounded off happily. Aside from not being able to take his afternoon nap, today had gone really well! He began whistling again he started by the park. A part of him wanted to go take a nap, but he wanted to get this food home before he got hungry again and it disappeared on him.
"Hey! There's that cat from before!"
Yori's ears perked up as he heard this. People sounded angry. Looking up he saw the men from earlier. They still looked mad. Only this time they looked mad and had guns. Not a good combination.
"Did you steal more food cat boy?"
"No! This was given to me!"
"Right. Sure it was!"
He knew that talking to them wasn't going to get him anywhere. Tossing the food into the air, he jumped over the closest guy and caught the box of food. Sometimes running was just better than fighting. He managed to take two steps before something collided with his leg causing him to trip. The food box landed on the ground and his leg was throbbing. The men were laughing, and one of them stepped on his tail earning them all a loud hiss.
"Well look at this! Cat boy was stealing fish!" The men stepped on the box of food. The food for his sisters. The food that rich girl paid for.
Yori's normal blue eyes turned a bright golden color, resembling glowing orbs of fire. His claws grew out as he slashed at the leg of the man closest to him. He couldn't hurt them. He couldn't...it was against the law. He kept trying to remind himself of that even as he slashed at the next man.
Before he realized what he'd done the men were bleeding badly. "Get his collar I.D.! That'll take care of him!"
Yori looked down at his collar. People were starting to gather again. Grabbing the trampled box of food he started running as fast as he could. He'd lost his temper. He'd almost gone feral. That would've been bad. Very bad.
"Get back here!"
Yori stuck out his tongue as the humans tried to chase him. "I paid for this fair and square! It's mine!"
"I don't sell stuff to damn Eldarians!"
