Pokemon Fan Fiction / Pokemon Fan Fiction ❯ Dark Temptations Inn ❯ 666. ( Chapter 5 )
The room itself sent cold shivers down my spine as I managed to push myself up onto my feet. I swallowed, and then remembered I had the lighter I had found. I quickly pulled it out, and within seconds, I had it lit.
I was in some kind of service room. It wasn't a huge room; there was a door to my left, and the rest of the kinda small room was filled with a desk, and a lot of shelves that had numerous tools on it.
I was only relieved because there were no zombies in the room.
I sighed, and stepped to the desk. I didn't find much; but I did find a strange looking key, that didn't look like it'd fit in any of the locks I had seen yet. It had a Biohazard symbol at the top of it. I shrugged, and stuffed it away into my pocket.
Then I found a dairy.
I figured I might as well read it, and so I took a seat at the desk, and opened the page up to a random date.
"June 23, 1959,
I found my master, Benjamin, dead in the pool. I wasn't sure what caused his death; I have told the reporters that came that he had drowned, and I took full responsibility in keeping and burying the body. I did not give the body to the authorities, no.. I must keep him safe from them. He is only dead in our eyes. He still lives on. Yes..
I believe that some girl killed him; yes, I saw that girl leading Benjamin out of the Ballroom. That was the last time I saw him alive. That girl.. so strange.. she looked so beautiful, but she must have just wanted to kill Benjamin! Yes! That's it..! .. Heh heh. I'll find her. And I'll make sure she pays.. and then, I'll rip he-..."
The pen writing suddenly went violently off the page, as if he had been pulled away from his dairy. The guy seemed crazy; I figured he had been Benjamin's butler. This family was starting to creep me out; and even worse, they were related to me.
I noticed a few bloodstains at the bottom of the page, and swallowed before I shut the book, and placed it back on the desk. I noticed a picture on the desk, as well. It was the butler; old looking. He had a scary, old man face.. practically bald except for some white hair on the side of his head. I'm glad I didn't have to meet him.
I then stood up, and looked to the only door in the room. And sighing, I stepped to it, turning the knob. My luck had came true since it wasn't locked, and I opened the door, and was a bit surprised as I stared down into an elevator shaft. The elevator was on the second floor.. and I was on the third. That was the only way down, besides a rusted ladder that was on the other wall. But, the ladder looked like it would break if it had any weight put on it. So, I looked for another way down. There had to be a safer way down.
"Kid. Your becoming boring." I heard a voice behind me; it sounded like that male creature's voice. Before I could turn around, I felt another powerful blow against my back, like the one that had hit me on the roof. I yelped, flying forward, and grabbed onto the ladder.
My luck had disappeared as I heard squeaking metal and then a snap of the ladder breaking, and I fell downwards, and hit the hard surface of the top of the elevator. I grunted, and sat up, holding my back, looking back up to the third floor. I couldn't see very well through the door, and there was no sign of that creature.
I groaned, and stood up, holding my head and brushing myself off from the dust that had briefly covered me.
There was no way out, it seemed. The ladder was broken, and I noticed that the latch that lead into the elevator was locked. I sighed, and held my side in pain. That fall had really hurt like a mother..

And just then, the elevator began to rise upwards. I feared that it'd just stop at the third floor, but it passed the third floor, and I noticed the fourth floor elevator doors were opening. As the elevator rose, I quickly jumped out as the top of the elevator neared the entrance, and rolled into the fourth floor hallway.
And then I looked over my shoulder, just as the elevator had arrived. The doors shot open, and I widened my eyes in fear.
The lights of the elevator were blinking on and off like a strobe light, and I saw a body briefly, covered in dry blood from a slice that was clean across it's neck. It was hung from the roof of the elevator; and then, I noticed the corpse looked exactly like the butler in the picture.
I felt like I was going to vomit, staring at the corpse's closed eyes.
Without warning, the corpse screamed violently, its eyes flying open and staring right towards me. It's arms shot out towards me as well, as if trying to grab me. And within a second, the elevator doors shut, and the elevator descended back downwards.
I held my stomach, trying not to barf. This was beginning to become horrible. This was sickening, and scaring the crap outta me. I suddenly began to cry; I couldn't help it.
Tears began to run down my cheeks as I sat there on my knees in that empty hallway, trying to gather myself. All these people had died. And I could be next to die; but I wouldn't! I had to stay alive for Jill! She was everything to me, and I couldn't die because of something this stupid. I had to win!
I wiped away a few tears, and sighed before I managed to stand to my feet, and look up and down the hallway.
Just another normal hallway; along with a pair of double doors next to me. They both said 'Ballroom' on the doors, and I remembered that one of the Zimmers had died there, as well.
That was the only other place I could check out; the rest of the hallway was probably just all guest rooms.
I shrugged to myself, and stepped to the ballroom, gripping the handle before I opened it, and slipped inside the beautiful ballroom.
Beautiful hardly described the room. It was pretty large, expensive items everywhere. A fireplace, tables, a bar, and a large carpet made most of the room. The middle of the room was empty, besides the carpet, so you could dance. There was a grand piano in one of the corners, then tables in the other.. the bar in another corner. The fireplace was on the center of a wall, and there were numerous portraits put up here and there.
I sighed; where would I start off at? So far, I didn't see any keys or items laying about in the room. A few papers and china here and there, but nothing important.
I glanced to the nicely done black grand piano, and smiled a little as I stepped to it. I noticed that the top was open, showing the insides of the piano. I also noticed that the piano had a slot where you could put those rolls of paper to make the piano play a song; I didn't know much about pianos, so I didn't know the name of the thing.
And at last, I saw a little controller like thing, right inside the piano. It was strange looking, like a TV remote, only different. There was only one or two buttons on the thing, anyway.
As I began to reach in, the top of the piano suddenly came crashing down, and I pulled my hand back just in time. I sighed, and tried to open the top. It was locked, and I didn't see any lock for it.
I shrugged; there was nothing I could do to open the piano at this point, but maybe I'd find another way. I walked to the bar, and noticed a strange smell; the smell of decaying and dead flesh. I frowned, covering up my lower face with my shirt before slowly walking around the counter; there were no dead bodies laying on the floor, in which I was glad. I was growing sicker and sicker by the minute, just thinking of those corpses. I knelt down, and glanced over the cabinets. I saw a bloody handprint on one, and frowned.
Although I was scared to death of opening the cabinet, what else could I do? And without hesitation, I yanked open the door, and winced as I saw yet another thing I really didn't want to see.
I swallowed, looking at the hand that had been cut off of someone's arm, just laying there in the cabinet, a fist made. It must have been holding something.
I wanted to see what it was holding; but it was horribly disgusting! I could barely pull myself to even look at the thing!
But it had to be done, and I hated that fact.
I reached for the hand slowly, holding my breath to try to keep from barfing.. and slowly, I forced to fingers open. The hand had some sort of death grip, but I managed to open it. I soon found another coin dropping to the floor in front of me; there was four scratches on one side, then six on the other side. I also noticed that something had been carved into the hand.
'666'.
I picked the coin up quickly, and shut the cabinet door before standing up, and sighing.. pocketing the item I had found.
Sure, I knew 666 was the sign of the devil, but what if it meant something else? It had to be some sort of clue to what I should look for next; satanic items? No. It had to be something else.
Either way, I was done for the ballroom, for now.
I stepped back out into the hallway, and began to walk down it. All the numbers were in the four hundreds. So, I didn't think '666' could be a room number.
But strange things do happen.
I had just passed '452', and then noticed that a door had it's numbers removed, and carved into the door was the number '666'.
I faced the door, placing my hand on the doorknob, and turned it to check if it was locked.
It wasn't.
Slowly, and carefully, I pushed open the door, and found just another ordinary room; the bed, bathroom, and all those jolly things.
The bathroom door was closed, and the main part of the room was empty, basically.
I opened the bathroom door; the bathroom was normal, too.. but the tub was filled with a thick red liquid; most likely blood.
I swallowed as I stepped in, looking behind the door to make sure there wasn't some zombie or creature waiting to jump out at me.. and slowly, I stepped inside, making my way to the tub. I knelt down, staring into the blood, and sighed. I could unplug it, but who knew what was in the tub!
A dead body or body part? Something like that was so likely in a tub filled with blood.
I didn't want to, but I had to. So, quickly I reached in, my fingers searching the floor of the tub for the plug. Soon, I found it, and yanked it out before standing up, shaking off some of the blood as I watched the tub slowly drain.
To my surprise, there were no bodies or parts in the tub. But strangely, there was a hatch on the bottom of the tub, like an entrance that went into the floor, or something. It was really weird; no tubs I had ever seen had something like this.
I leaned down, and opened the hatch. It was just big enough for me to fit in, and there was a ladder leaning down, right into the room below. Strange. The ladder went right into tub downstairs.
I shrugged, and managed into the hatch, and went down the ladder, hopping off the ladder and into the downstairs bathroom. The door was shut, and the bathroom was normal so far; besides the ladder going into the tub, but oh well.
I stepped to the door, and opened it, entering another hotel room. The walls were covered in blood; a painting like the late artist Pollock would have done. It was disgusting; but I had luckily found no bodies so far.
I stepped further inside, looking to the bed; right smack dab in the middle of it, there was a roll of piano paper; that automatic play stuff.. and like I said, I had no idea what to call it. I picked it up, and studied it before placing it in my larger pocket on my leg.
I sighed, and stepped back into the bathroom, and was surprised and slightly scared as the ladder and hatch had both disappeared. There was no other way to get back to the fourth floor, except if I had to go through the hallway and to the elevator.
The zombies; oh, God.
This wasn't going to be fun.
