Chapter 4 “Truth revealed”

 

It had been two days since Kayla and Skye had discovered that quiet Kanemi Lupa who ran a zombie deck was Sailor Scorpio. The Soul Reapers had been far too quiet for Kayla's taste. `Their planning something big. I can feel it,' Kayla though as she sat in one of her D.A. classes. Skye sat next to her writing notes and Kanemi was directly in front of Kayla. Their teacher was Trista who was teaching them about ancient dueling.

 

Nearby, but not that close Beryl was pacing back and forth in front of her throne. “Those scouts have always been annoying, but now they have more,” she said as she paced.

 

“Do not worry,” a dark voice said. A dark shadow appeared behind her. “I will tend to them.”

 

“How do you plan to do that?” Beryl asked him.

 

“I know who three of these new scouts are. I will destroy them and then claim what is rightfully mine,” he told her.

 

“Do whatever you have to do Naraku,” Beryl told him. Naraku bowed to her and disappeared.

 

Suddenly both Trista and Kanemi felt a shock run through them. `This does not feel good,' Trista though.

 

`Someone's using the Gates of Time,' Kanemi said to herself.

 

Kayla saw her fellow Astral Scout tense. `Something's wrong,' Kayla though. She sent a note to Skye saying that something seemed wrong with Kanemi. Skye glanced up to see Kanemi tensing.

 

“What's wrong with her?” Skye mouthed to Kayla.

 

“No clue,” Kayla mouthed back. Soon class was over and Kanemi rushed out of the room. Kayla and Skye were on her heels. “What's wrong?” Kayla asked her.

 

“I felt someone using the Gates of Time,” Kanemi informed them.

 

“Let's go,” Skye said. Kayla nodded and the three girls rushed outside. To their dismay Jaden and the rest of his now larger gang stopped them.

 

“Where are you guy's going?” Chazz asked.

 

“None of your business Princeton,” Kayla shot back at him. Skye gave her friend a warning look.

 

“What's gotten into you Kayla?” Kagome asked her.

 

“Sorry just a little jumpy today,” Kayla explained.

 

“Hey! I'm sensing something coming this way!” Raye called out suddenly.

 

The area around them were engulfed in a weird dark field even InuYasha who was sitting in a nearby tree. “Where are we?” Syrus asked. Jaden and his group were totally scared aside from Jaden while the Scouts, Kagome, InuYasha, and Kayla's group stood ready to fight what ever was going to come and attack them.

 

“Welcome,” a dark voice said. Kagome tensed as Naraku appeared before them all.

 

“He was the one to come through the Gates,” Kanemi told Kayla and Skye in a whisper.

 

“You sure?” Skye asked.

 

“Positive. He has the same dark energy signature,” Kanemi explained.

 

Kayla snarled as she saw Naraku heading for her cousin who seemed to be scared of him yet was not visibly showing any fear. Even InuYasha was snarling. Before InuYasha could jump in Kayla had rushed up and slammed her fist into Naraku's face pushing him away from Kagome. “Leave my cousin alone you weirdo!” Kayla ordered him. Kagome was surprised to see her cousin with so much strength even though she didn't look that strong.

 

Naraku slowly turned to face Kayla with a dark smirk on his face. “So you are this wenches cousin,” he said. His smile darkened even more. “I know who you really are.”

 

Kayla tensed slightly. `Does he know about me, Skye, and Kanemi being scouts? This is bad.' Naraku vanished and then reappeared near Kayla and smacked her away from Kagome.

 

“Kayla!” both Kagome and Skye exclaimed.

 

`Damn. This guy is no joke,' Kayla said to herself as she stood to her feet. Naraku appeared in front of her ready to hit her again. `Shit!'

 

“InuYasha!” Kagome exclaimed. He appears and leaps down between Kayla and Naraku giving Naraku a nice punch square in the face.

 

“Leave Kagome's cousin alone,” InuYasha said as anger burned in his amber eyes.

 

“Nice to see you again InuYasha,” Naraku said with a smirk.

 

“Shut the hell up you bastard!” Kayla shouted as she rushed at him again, but as soon as she gets close to him he unleashes miasma around himself, which Kayla is caught in the middle of. InuYasha leaps in and pulls Kayla out then puts her on the ground. Skye and Kanemi rush to her side as she coughs. Suddenly Naraku grabs Kagome holding her hostage.

 

“Kagome!” Mindy exclaims. This seems to be the last straw for Kayla who's eyes burn with anger and she suddenly stands ups. Everyone turns to look at Kayla.

 

“That is the last straw. I have no clue who or what the hell you are, but you went too far when you took my cousin hostage. Skye, Kanemi. Let's do it,” Kayla called to her two friends.

 

“Are you sure about this Kayla?” Skye asked her.

 

“We don't stand a chance if we remain in our normal forms plus I am not going to let this guy get away with pushing me around plus he told me that he knows who I truly am,” she turned to Kanemi, “Are you with me?”

 

“Yes. He is pure evil and needs to be dealt with,” Kanemi said.

 

“Fine. Let's do it,” Skye reluctantly agreed.

 

“Then let's do it girls,” Kayla called. The three of them took out weird wands. Kanemi's was black and inside the black crystal was the sign for Scorpio, Skye's was white and inside the white crystal was the kanji for wind, and Kayla was golden and inside the golden crystal was the sign for Leo.

 

“Scorpio…” Kanemi began.

 

“Wind…” Skye called next.

 

“Leo…” Kayla hollered.

 

“…Cosmic Power! Make Up!” All three called at the same time. Black light surrounded Kanemi as she began to transform and when it died she was dressed as Sailor Scorpio. Breezes blew around Skye as she began to change. When the breezes gave her the last part of her scout outfit, her shoes, she struck a pose. As Kayla transformed golden bands of light enclosed around and then she stood before everyone as Sailor Leo.

 

Everyone gapped even Inu. `She is Sailor Leo? I don't believe it!' Shin thought to himself.

 

“Release my cousin you sicko,” Leo ordered.

 

“And what if I don't?” Naraku asked as he grabbed Kagome by the throat and began to choke her. Both Leo and InuYasha growled. “You can't hurt me without hurting her.”

 

“That's what you think,” Scorpio said, “Scorpio Ominous Wind!” Strange purple wind began to blow. Everyone was extremely nervous except for Scorpio, Wind, and Leo. Scorpio had told both Wind and Leo what her attacks do. “No need to be nervous. My attack only seeks out evil,” Scorpio explained. Naraku began to cough and he let go of Kagome who InuYasha snatched out of harms way. Scorpio nodded to her fellow scouts.

 

“Let's go Wind,” Leo called, “Leo Heat Blitz!” A blast of golden light shot from her out stretched left hand and headed right for Naraku.

 

“Right. Wind Whirlwind Striker!” Wind let loose a whirlwind, which joined Leo's attack and headed right for Naraku. To their great surprise Naraku blocked their attacks with his barrier. “He blocked our attacks!” Wind exclaimed.

 

`Damn this guy is strong,' Leo thinks. She glances over to see Jaden and the gang and Kagome and InuYasha huddled together. `I've got to protect them.' Suddenly Leo began to cough real badly.

 

“Kayla!” Wind exclaimed going to her side.

 

“We need to help them,” Lita said.

 

“Yeah Kayla is really hurting for that strange gas that Naraku get let loose,” Hotaru said.

 

“Then let's do it,” Amara said. All of Serena's gang called out their own transformations and stood there protecting Leo and Wind.

 

“This is unexpected,” Naraku said. He then disappeared making everything go back to normal.

 

Kagome raced to Leo's side. “Kayla are you?” she asked her.

 

“Slightly,” Leo replied as she coughed.

 

Kagome turned to InuYasha. “Go get my backpack from my room and meet us at the Slifer dorm.” Inu nodded and dashed away. With him gone all of the gang rushed back to the Slifer dorm to tend to Kayla.
