CHAPTER TEN
All the rest of the day the heroes and warriors spent their time sharpening their weapons, preparing their armor, and guiding the civilians off the lands. The titans were still growing nervous by the fact that they were running out of time, and son to be facing the largest force of enemies they ever would encounter.
Shortly after midday, the village was empty; all the villagers had been taken to sighting far enough away to be out of danger. Some of the warriors even took a lunch break so as not to tire themselves out while preparing so much.
Some of the titans were even given armor. Starfire felt like a warrior queen, “I have only ever imaged how much fun it can be to be armored.”
Robin thought she made it out well. “When we get home, we really will have to consider upgrading our costumes and outfits.”
“You mean IF we get home.” said Terra as she came out from behind the curtains. Cyborg assured her they would get home. They still had plenty of time left, and as for Beast-Boy, he wasn't wearing armor as it wouldn't workout for him and his animal changing, but he couldn't help but ogle at Terra and whistle. “If love is a crime, lock me up. I'm guilty.”
Terra giggled, and then she noticed, “Hey… where's Raven?”
Raven poked her face through the opening, “Back here… and back here's where I'm staying too.” she said grimly.
“Aw, come on, Raven… where's all dressed the same.” Cyborg said.
Raven sighed and came out. “I feel like a can of sardines in this getup.”
Sarasim assured Raven, “I think you look perfect.”
Raven raised an eyebrow, “Perfectly stupid.”
Now was not the time to be exchanging jokes. It was time t move into position. The fleets would split into groups and scatter all over the desert. Sarasim reminded everyone, “No matter what happens, we must lead the enemy towards the damn and not towards the defenseless village.”
Everyone understood, and then, finally… “Warriors… To arms…!”
They were off, the Titans made sure to stay with Sarasim, and they were all going to take the furthest location near the caverns. Copy-Cat needed help now.
…
The witch showed Krall the images form her cauldron. “They are on the move, Master.”
Krall simply snuffed. “I am well aware of that, Witch, I know Sarasim better than any warrior who has ever lived.” He knew that Sarasim was splitting the army up and scattered the men about. “Prepare the monsters. We move at dusk.” replied Krall as he went to get his armor ready.
He passed by Copy-Cat's cage. “After which, I will then decide what is to be done with you.”
Copy-Cat gripped the bars tightly and hissed like the cat he was at Krall. “I have warned you before, Krall… you do not frighten me.”
Krall said nothing, just gave him a sinister, and then he walked off, as the witch followed him, Copy-Cat could hear her thoughts, “First we shall destroy the warriors, and then… you will join them.”
That was all the proof Copy-Cat needed, unfortunately he hadn't enough power to contact Raven again or he'd render himself too weak and frail from overusing his foresight too much without meditating in comfort. He only hoped his friends would be ready.
…
The heroes and the other warriors had long since taken their positions, and waited, and waited and the wait was rather boring, Beast-Boy almost fell asleep three times. “Dude… why don't the come already?” he groaned.
The sun was already starting to go down. This was it. The final twelve hours and the grounds began to rumble with the sound of an army marching. “They are coming.” said Sarasim, “Come…!”
She and the titans walked out form their hiding place and stood clear in the open view as Krall and his army came marching over on the horizon. They chose this strategic place for good reasons, not just that Copy-Cat was nearby…
The army was soon within speaking distance. “Sarasim!” growled Krall, “I give you and your friends this final chance of mercy. Surrender yourselves and I just may decide to let you live.”
Sarasim stood bravely as she gripped her spear, “We will never back down, Krall.” She declared, “We will defeat you, and your army.”
This made Krall sniggered, “This is a moment I shall treasure.” and he pulled out his sword, and he shouted out his battle cry which signaled his army to move out. Sarasim roared and charges straight at Krall, and with the monsters still coming, Robin pulled out his sword, “TITANS… GO!” and they were off.
As the heroes rushed into battle, Starfire began to vigorously fire her star-bolts into the sky which signaled the other warriors that the fight was on.
Despite there being almost five-million monsters, the swords allowed the warriors to slash right through them, since they were sharpened and well prepared, and Cyborg, having not used his sonic-cannon for a while, he was able to quite out a large sum of the monsters with a few shots and not drain his batteries so much.
Still, many more monsters remained, and they just wouldn't seem to stop coming, and by this time, every warrior there was battling. “We've got to lead them in the path of the damn!” shouted Terra.
“Right…! Let's try and move out, and Raven… go see if you can free Copy-Cat.” Robin shouted. Raven nodded, and flew off, and Robin then shouted, “Titans… take flight!”
Cyborg stayed behind for someone needed to stay and help Sarasim face Krall. “Yo…! Krall-man!” called Cyborg as he dashed over “Why don't you CHILL?” and he socked Krall hard in the face.
Krall rolled on the ground and got back to his feet. “Cyborg!” he growled “Hmm, mm, mm… it will be an honor to take down you as well as Sarasim for robbing me of my title as strongest-warrior.”
“You lost your title fairly.” snarled Sarasim “You are no longer worthy to call yourself a warrior, Krall.”
“SILENCE…!” yelled Krall as he charged straight at the two. Sarasim winked at her husband and they both charged into battle.
…
Raven made her way to the secret cavern, “Copy-Cat!”
“Raven! Thank goodness.” Her boyfriend cried. He then held out his hand through he bars and Raven placed her hand in it allowing him to copy her and beam right through the bars without even having to pick the lock. The two Raven's hugged, and then they sprinted off.
…
The titans and the warriors lead the remaining monsters, which vastly outnumbered them in the general direction. “Once we get there… everyone scatter!” shouted Robin. “There's going to be really big surf!”
…
The battle had taken Krall, Sarasim and Cyborg up a mountain, which actually turned out to be an old, dead volcano. “You won't win!” Krall snarled.
“We'll see about that.” protested Cyborg and he blasted Krall hard with his cannon sending him flying even high up the volcano. As the fight continued, they made it higher, and higher, until they neared the top.
From up there they got a good view of the lands, as well as the warriors and the monsters making their way for the damn. “Hey, Krall… don't look now, but your monsters got a date with a little H2O.” Cyborg mocked.
…
The heroes and warriors were finally nearing the damn. “Terra, get over to the damn and wait for the signal.” said Robin. Terra nodded and hurried off. That's when Robin signaled for everyone to move out of the way.
The warriors all split up, some heading east, the others heading west creating a perfect opening for the water that was about to come rushing out. Robin told Beast-Boy to send the signal, “Now, Terra!” Beast-Boy called out to his wife.
Terra heard him and used her powers to shatter the stone and break the dam wide open. The water cam gushing out and splashing straight towards the monsters and hit them all full force, but much to everyone's shock and dismay, nothing happened! The monsters didn't even get pushed back by the water. “Uh… dude… it's not working.” Beast Boy pointed out.
The water drained out, and the monsters began to charge once more. “What do we do now?” cried Starfire.
“We fight… is what.” snapped Robin.
…
Sarasim and Cyborg couldn't understand it, and that's when the realized Krall must've had the witch do something to make the monsters even stronger, to which he admitted. “One of the first lessons of being a warrior, never make the same mistake twice.”
With their guard down, Krall knocked their swords out of their hands, kicked Cyborg aside, and pinned Sarasim down on the ground point his sword straight at her neck. “Sarasim!” cried Cyborg.
“Stay where you are, or she dies!” snarled Krall.
This was terrible, Cyborg couldn't move towards his wife, and the warriors down below were fighting a losing battle against the millions of monsters. Was this the end?
