Chapter Fifteen
Night had fallen over the STN offices. Michael and the others had gathered together, and were just sitting around. The mood was very gloomy, as nothing had been heard from the Chief or any of the others.Karasuma was leaning against a desk, her mind going a mile a minute in a rush of various thoughts. The phone rang beside her. As acting head until something brought the Chief back, she picked up.
“ There is a man here to see the Chief.” The voice of the guard said.
“ Is it that man from the other day.” Cautiously asked the woman, knowing the possibility. “ The one that said he was from SOLOMON?”
“ No.” The guard replied “ He just said he had information for you, and said he was from Italy.”
Karasuma was curious, and stood straight where she was. She thought for a moment as the man waited on the other end of the line.
“ I’m coming down.” She said. “ Tell him to wait.”
“ Alright.” Was the man’s answer, and he hung up.
Michael looked at the woman, and saw the odd look crossing her face.
“ Trouble?” He asked.
“ Someone is asking for the Chief, but it is not seem to be that man that attacked you Michael.” She spoke, her voice showing a little tightness to it. “ I am going down to see, you arm yourselves just in case, but wait for me up here.”
Miho quickly headed to the elevator to see just who this person was. Putting her weapon in her shoulder holster, she was not going to take any chances whatsoever with this person. The others had also grabbed weapons, just as they were instructed to do. The feared that this was another ruse by whoever was causing all of this shit.
Miho got to the gated front area, and was met by the guard as she neared the gate that was the main entrance way. Past the guard, she saw a man sitting on the bench. He was dressed in robes, and had a large suitcase set on the floor at his feet. A large hat was on his head, obscuring the face.
Before she could ask the guard anything, the man called out in a big booming voice, that had a odd accent to it’s Japanese.
“ Miho... so nice to see you again.”
The voice was familiar to Miho, and she gasped. She did not think it could be who her memory had pegged it as. As the man came closer, standing up from where he had been sitting, she saw that it was none other than Father Juliano.
She knew he was Robin’s grandfather, as well as a very high ranking SOLOMON board member. She looked at the thickly bodied man, as he came closer.
“ I had a interesting phone call earlier today... from one Nagira Syunji.” He called out to the woman, as he moving closer to the gated area. “ He gave me information... information that you need to here, as we had to, and have verified it for you.”
Miho looked at the guard and nodded. Unresistantly, the guard opened the door and Father Juliano stepped through the opening smoothly, belying the man’s stocky build. The woman and priests eyes locked. Miho could see the seriousness in the man’s eyes, and she had an inkling of just what the man would be there for.
The others in the office were surprised when Miho came up with another person just behind her. Each knew who it was right off, when the person stepped from being behind the young hunter woman.
The man looked at each person in order, his eye taking it all in. He set his suitcase down and then stepped closer to the group.
“ I have news that will help you out with your little corundum you have here.” He said.
“ Is it about someone called Yoshi Tanji?” Michael said, piping up.
“ In fact, it is a part of a larger thing, young man.” The priest.
The man took a chair and moved it to face the hunters that were gathered. He sat down, and looked at the group.
“ Yoshi Tanji is one of out senior board members on SOLOMON, but the man that was here is not that man.” He said, pulling no punches. “ Our member was found dead in a remote part outside Bonn, Germany. The report says that he had been dead for over five days now, the man that was here is not from SOLOMON.”
“ After getting bashed on the head by that fucker...” Began Michael, spitting out his anger. “ I can definitely say that is the truth.”
The priest nodded his head, validating the angered young man with is hearing him. The priest then looked back to the others.
“ We believe it is a hitman, with the Japanese Mafia. They are trying to stop SOLOMON from dealing with witches, as some of their best hitmen are Witches, and if they can get there hands on the ORBO, they can stop our craft users in the process of terrorizing the other witches that try to hid in the background.”
The group were stunned. They knew that something was up, but did not ever think of something like that.
“ I got the initial heads up from someone you know... Nagira.” He said with a smile.
“ Are they alright?” Asked Michael, his voice tense.
“ I am suppose to meet them later on...” He said. “ They are afraid that you are hunting them, or that SOLOMON was.” He took a dep breath. “ I assured them that we were not behind any of it, and hopped on a straight through flight to Japan to help stop these people, and to help my granddaughter.”
“ Any thing on our chief’s whereabouts?” Asked Miho.
“ That, we are still trying to determine...” The priest said. “ I am sad to say, he might have figured it out too late to save himself.”
Miho stepped towards the clergyman.
“ With all of this, do you think they are in danger with this man?” The woman asked. “ Do you even know who this man was?”
“ We may have to deal with the Yacuza ourselves, and yes, Robin and the others would be in danger.” Said the man, his eyes showing great concern. “ SOLOMON has vowed to stop this man, and to save our STN counterparts- I am here as the liaison to it.” The man looked at Miho a little longer. “ We do not know the identity of the impostor, but SOLOMON headquarters are going to keep poking in to it so a name would come out.”
Miho mulled every thing over, as the priest was seemingly waiting for her to say something to him.
“ We are sending one of us then with you.” Miho said with authority. “ When you go to meet Amon and the others, we are going to be there.”
The man smiled warmly, looking right into the face of the hunter woman.
“ Miho, I would not have it any other way.” He said. “ Together, lets go help out my granddaughter and the others. Right now, we need our plan up to counter this blood thirsty person.”
With a sense of renewed optimism, the people gathered around to forge a plan. The priest just did like he always did, led the group in prayers as they were to get their plan of action up and running.
