Author's note: Damn, I never actually thought the first M-rated Alexis/Jaden story would get good reviews but I'd like to thank you all for that. Our vampire-human hybrid hero Jaden is now an agent of the Darkwatch and ready to take down the vampire who sired him but first, he must stop Nightshroud and rescue his friend, Syrus. And how'll Alexis react to see her beloved Jaden as a vampire? I should warn you future chapters of this story will contain some sexual content. Now, let's begin the second story, my fellow wolves and vampire fans.
Chapter 2:
Code name: Daywalker
Alexis woke up as the sun shone into the nurse's office. She looked at Jaden's bed, only to see her lover not in it. Concerned, she got up from her cot to find him.
"Jaden? Where are you?" Alexis called out.
Alexis checked the bathroom to see if he might be in there. She opened the door but saw nothing except a shattered mirror and some blood on the sink. A fear of the worst came into her mind upon seeing the blood in the sink.
"Oh, God. Please, don't let Jaden be dead," Alexis pleaded to herself.
Fonda came in sometime later. She noticed Alexis was getting frantic about something.
"Calm yourself, sweety," Fonda said. "Tell me what happened."
"For some reason, Jaden disappeared," Alexis said with worry in her voice.
"Wasn't he here last night?" Fonda asked.
"Yeah but he just ran away," Alexis said.
Fonda began to investigate the office. She saw the iv tube on the floor then check out the grisley scene of the bathroom. She thought Jaden could have slit his wrists with a piece of the mirror that he broke but couldn't find a shard of glass with caked on blood.
Fonda decided to call the school authorities while Alexis searched the school grounds for him. Alexis called out Jaden's name but didn't get a response. She suddenly came across Bastion.
"Bastion, have you seen Jaden around?" Alexis asked with concern.
"No but I can't seem to find Syrus anywhere," Bastion said.
"Syrus is missing too?" Alexis asked.
"Let's see if they headed back to the freshmen dorm," Bastion said.
Alexis and Bastion headed for the freshmen dorm to see if they were there. When they got there, Jaden and Syrus were nowhere to be seen except a musculiar looking kid wearing a sleeveless yellow jacket over a green sleeveless shirt, a pair of khaki pants, and a dino bandana over his dreadlocks with pale white bangs. He was playing a game of Condemned: Criminal Origins on the Xbox 360.
"Hey, what the fuck are you doing here!?" Alexis shouted.
"Huh? What are ya talkin' about?" The sophmore asked with a Texan accent.
"Shouldn't you be in the sophmore dorm?" Bastion asked.
"Hell, no. I like it here," The sophmore said. "Besides, all the freshmen get to have the good stuff."
"Who are you, anyway?" Alexis asked.
"I'm Tyranno Hassleberry. I'm new to these here parts," Tyranno said. "What the fuck's the problem?"
"A student named Jaden Yuki seems to be missing," Bastion stated. "We figured he may have came back here."
"He's gone Elvis, huh? I didn't see anyone here," Tyranno said. "Not all morning anyway."
"Can you help us find him?" Alexis asked.
"Ok. I'd do anythin' for a purty lady like yourself," Tyranno said as he turned the Xbox 360 off and put on his boots.
"Um, thanks. I think," Alexis said with discomfort.
"Now, let's go look for Jaden and Syrus," Bastion said.
"Another is missin' now?" Tyranno asked. 'Looks like Prey can wait.'
Tyranno, Bastion, and Alexis went on to search for Jaden and Syrus. They asked everyone around the island if they seen either Jaden or Syrus but no one didn't see either of them, not even Mindy and Jasmine. They continued searching for the two students until it was time for school.
(Darkwatch outpost)
Jaden arrived into the briefing room of the Darkwatch outpost. He saw Trent with a walking stick adorned with the Darkwatch skull and there was a doctor dressed in a charcoal lab coat and he wore a pair of circular-framed wire-rimed glassess.
"Sit down, halfbreed," Trent said. "I want to introduce you to Dr. Eustace Jenkins, he's one of the doctors here in the Darkwatch."
"Pleasure to meet you, Regulator Yuki," Dr. Jenkins said with an Irish accent.
"Nice to meet you too," Jaden said.
"Dr. Jenkins wants to conduct a blood test on you, halfbreed," Gen. Creed said as Eustace pulled out a needle.
Jaden jumped into the corner of the room as he hissed. Eustace looked up at Jaden as he asked, "What's his problem?"
"Sorry, I kinda have a fear of needles," Jaden said.
"Just get your ass back down here and take the test, halfbreed," Creed said.
"Quit callin' me that, fuck," Jaden said angrily.
"Have a seat and I'll take a blood sample from your arm," Eustace said. "This'll hurt for one second."
"Ok," Jaden said as he removed his coat and glove to pull up his right sleeve.
The vampire/human hybrid duelist sat down as Dr. Jenkins injected the needle into Jaden's arm. As the needle sucked out the blood, Jaden brandished his fangs at the doctor. Dr. Jenkins was spooked when Jaden hissed at him. Eustace pulled the needle back as he said, "The thirst is setting in again."
"Yeah, I need some blood," Jaden said.
"I may have a solution to your blood cravings, Jaden," Eustace said. "I could put you in a Nightstalker suit or give you some serum to keep your cravings under control."
"Serum?" Jaden echoed.
"Yes, a simple alternative to blood for vampires or dhampirs in your case," Dr. Jenkins said. "We're experimenting on it right now."
"When will it be available?" Jaden asked.
"I do happen to have a vial right here with me," Eustace said as he pulled a small bottle out of his pocket. "I'll be more than willing to give it to you."
"If it could help as long as it doesn't have no side effects," Jaden said.
"I assure you there aren't any side effects," Eustace said. "I'll inject this stuff into you right now."
Dr. Jenkins pulled out a second needle and filled it with serum. He injected the serum into Jaden's arm as he felt his craving subside. Jaden pulled his sleeve down, donned his glove and coat.
"I shall take my leave," Eustace said. "I'll let you know the results of your blood test soon."
Eustace left as Trent began to brief Jaden on his first mission.
"All right, halfbreed. I'm gonna give you the details of your first mission," Creed said as he turned on the screen of the briefing room which showed Nightshroud's face. "I'm sure you already know Nightshroud."
"Yeah, he and I go way back," Jaden said sarcastically.
"Shut the fuck up and listen," Trent said, slightly annoyed. "Nightshroud is a member of a vampire terrorist group called the Shadow Riders. We've been tracking them for a long time. His fellow members are Camula, a pure blood vampire, Titan, a self-proclaimed master of shadow magic, Tania, an amazoness with the strength of ten men, Don Zaloog, ex-leader of the Dark Scorpion gang, and of course the vampire who turned you into a pathetic halfbreed, Amnael."
"I like to get my hands on that bastard," Jaden said.
"You'll get your vengeance in due time, halfbreed," Trent said. "Right now I want you to focus. In case you didn't know about Nightshroud, he's no vampire. He is what we call a familiar."
"'Familiar'? How original," Jaden said sarcastically.
"A familiar is a human who wants to become a vampire," Trent said. "They do their master's bidding during day light hours. In case you didn't know, vampires are night creatures. But there have been a few vampires that can walk in the sunlight without the fear of being burned. We call them 'daywalkers'."
"Daywalkers?" Jaden echoed.
"Yes. Very much like dhampirs, they too possess all the strengths but no weaknessess of vampires," Trent stated. "Amnael is a daywalker. By the way, that will be your new code name."
"Hmph. Ain't that sweet," Jaden remarked as he and Trent heard a knock on the door.
"Sir, we just got word from one of our undercover operatives that a student from Dueling Academy has been kidnapped," Brock said urgently.
"Who's the student's name?" Trent asked.
"Syrus Truesdale, sir," Brock said.
Jaden gasped upon hearing his friend's name. He got up from his chair and threw it at Trent. The Brigadier General dodged the chair as Jaden screamed while smashing the table in two. Gen. Creed walked over to Jaden and shocked him with his walking stick. Jaden let out a tiger-like roar then fell to the floor.
"Better calm your fucking ass down, halfbreed," Trent said. "My walking stick here acts as a cattle prod. I use this to keep you vampire scum in line."
"Don't call me...scum!" Jaden screamed.
"Brock, get him out of my sight," Trent said. "You better not come back until your mission is finished, halfbreed."
Brock picked up Jaden and left the briefing room. Brock was wondering on what made Jaden snap like that.
"What the hell happened in there?" Brock asked.
"Sorry, that student you mentioned to that bastard is a very good friend of mine," Jaden said. "I'm so gonna fuck Nightshroud up for kidnapping him."
"Whoa, dude. Chill out," Brock said as Jaden hissed.
"How can I!? When I find him, Nightshroud will wish he never met me!" Jaden yelled as his eyes began to glow red.
"Ya gonna have to get some weapons if ya gonna kill him," Brock said. "I'll take ya to the weapons master."
"Whatever," Jaden said as his eyes reverted back to their normal color.
Brock escorted the vampire/human agent to the weapon master's shop. Roy, the weapons master, was testing a few new weapons sent to him by the engineers. He heard a knock on the door, Roy put his test weapon down to open it. Roy saw Jaden and Brock as he greeted, "Hey there, Brock. What brings you here?"
"Jaden here is about to go on his first mission and he needs some weapons," Brock said.
"Of course," Roy said as he twirled his handbar moustache.
Roy picked up a shotgun with four barrels and a six inch blade on the butt of the gun.
"Here is the Argus shotgun. A favorite among the Regulators of the Darkwatch," Roy said.
"But what about the gun ya gave me for practice?" Jaden asked.
"Oh, it was just a prototype," Roy said. "I figured two barrels would be more efficient but the Regulators preferred four barrels but I was able to improved the recoil on this gun."
"Aw, yeah," Jaden said as he took the shotgun.
"These are Redeemer pistols," Roy said as he took out two semiautomatic handguns with curved handles with blades attached. "Since no one hardly uses the revolver any more in this day and age, I figured I do a more modern take on these weapons."
"I'll take them," Jaden said as he took the Redeemer guns.
"And I also have the Silvertooth sword," Roy said as he picked up a sword that had a dark grey handle with the Darkwatch skull as a pommel. "This blade was made from the finest of silvers. Not too many agents carry these nowadays."
"I'll take that too," Jaden said as he took the sword and placed it into the hole of his overcoat.
"I don't wanna keep you waiting on your mission," Roy said. "Good luck, Jaden."
"Thanks," Jaden said as he and Brock left.
Jaden and Brock walked down the hallway into the vehicle bay. Rows of go-cart style vehicles with twin chainguns and missile launchers were lined up along the walls. There were also air carriers, boats, and tanks in the bay.
"Here's the vehicle bay," Brock said. "This is where we keep our vehicles for land, sea, and air. I hope ya know how to drive."
"Well, my dad did teach me how to drive over the summer," Jaden said. "Where do I go to begin my first mission?"
"There's a ghost door right down this ramp at the end o' the garage," Brock said. "Hop onto one of the coyotes and drive on down there. I hope ya save yer friend."
"Thanks," Jaden said as he hopped on one of the coyote vehicles. 'Nightshroud, you're a dead man.'
Jaden drove the coyote through the garage at a fast and furious pace. He let out a growl as he drove down the ramp and through the ghost door portal.
(Duel Acadmey Island, parts unknown)
Syrus was held prisoner inside a cage. Nightshroud and his legion of vampires were waiting for Jaden to show up to rescue his friend.
"W-what do ya want with me?" Syrus asked.
"You're gonna be the bait when your friend shows up," Nightshroud said.
"Jaden?" Syrus asked.
"Oh, yes," Nightshroud said. "You're gonna witness a very big change in him."
"What the fuck are you talking about?" Syrus asked.
"You'll see," Nightshroud said. "You'll love the new Jaden."
Soon enough, Nightshround and Syrus heard a sound of a motor roaring from a distance. They saw a go-cart like vehicle with mounted chainguns leaping over the tall grass. The go-cart landed on the ground as Nightshroud said, "Hello, dhampir. Nice seeing you again."
Jaden flashed his vampire fangs. "Let him go, Nightshroud."
"Why should I, halfbreed?" Nightshroud taunted. "Your little friend here is gonna witness just how much of a monster you've become."
"Monster? What is he talking about?" Syrus asked. "Jaden, what the hell is goin' on?"
"It's a long story, Syrus," Jaden said. "I'll tell you once I kick this dude's ass."
"Unlikely. My servants, attack!" Nightshroud ordered.
Nightshround's vampire soldiers hissed and went after Jaden. Meanwhile, Alexis, Tyranno, and Bastion searched everywhere for their friends. Alexis was very exhausted from running all over the island. She wanted to take a break while Tyranno and Bastion called out Jaden and Syrus' names.
"Come on, guys," Alexis complained. "We've been at this all day long. Can we take a break?"
"Ok, little lady. let's take five," Tyranno said.
Alexis and Tyranno sat down while Bastion continued searching for Jaden and Syrus. Tyranno cracked his knuckles as he asked, "How'd ya met this kid, Jaden, anyway?"
"He came over to this dueling test that was being held," Alexis asked. "Jaden faced one of the teachers, Dr. Crowler, and humiliated him. Dr. Crowler had been pissed off at him ever since that day."
"Poor sumbitch," Tyranno said.
"Yeah," Alexis said. "I'll never forget the time Jaden died during our trip in Gotham City. This vigilante called The Crow was able to save him and bring him back to me."
"You must truly love the little feller," Tyranno said.
"Yeah," Alexis said.
Bastion searched around the woods as he yelled, "Jaden! Syrus! Where are you!?"
He searched the woods further until he heard faint sounds of hissing and gun shots. He became spooked by the sounds; so he ran back to where Tyranno and Alexis sat.
"What in tarnation is wrong with ya?" Tyranno asked.
"I heard something," Bastion said while catching his breath.
"What's going on?" Alexis asked.
"No time to explain!" Bastion said. "Let's go find Jaden, now!"
The trio hotfooted through the woods to the source of the sounds Bastion heard a few moments ago. Back the fight, Jaden shot two vampires with his Redeemer handguns. After they ran of out ammo, Jaden switched to the Argus shotgun. He fired several rounds at the vampires while more came after him. A cruel smile cracked the half-vampire duelist's face.
'Why's Jaden smiling like that?' Syrus asked himself mentally. 'It's not like him at all.'
Indeed, He seemed to take great pleasure in killing. After running out of ammo of his Argus shotgun, Jaden whipped out the Silvertooth blade from his jacket and ashed a few vampires. The vampire-human hybrid duelist laughed evily while he sliced and ashed a few more vampires. He spun his blade around in his hand and placed his sword back into his coat while gazing at Nightshroud.
"You've been training," Nightshroud said. "The Darkwatch trained you well."
"Yes. Now I'm gonna get some fuckin' payback," Jaden said.
"Then come and get me, halfbreed," Nightshround said.
Jaden hissed as he jumped at Nightshroud. The half-vampire agent tackled the masked familiar and held him by his coat. Jaden flashed his fangs at Nightshroud and threw him to the ground. Jaden grabbed him by the hair and slugged him in the jaw.
"How does it feel to be beaten by a halfbreed, motherfucker?" Jaden taunted.
"Ya haven't seen nothing yet, bastard," Nightshround said.
Nightshroud got up and nailed Jaden to the chest with a swift kick. He grabbed the Darkwatch agent around the neck as he said, "Vampire, human, or halfbreed, you are still weak."
"I'm stronger than you realize!" Jaden shouted, headbutting Nightshroud.
Jaden delivered a kick to Nightshroud but he struck back with a punch to the chin of the vampire-human hybrid. Nightshroud proceeded to choke Jaden as Alexis, Tyranno, and Bastion appeared.
"Jaden!?" Alexis exclaimed.
Nightshroud threw Jaden to the ground upon hearing the vampire-human duelist's name. Nightshroud looked at Alexis as if he knew her from somewhere.
"Leave him alone!!!" Alexis screamed.
'I know her,' Nightshroud said mentally.
"Alexis, Bastion, stay away!" Syrus screamed. "This dude's dangerous!"
"Who is he?" Tyranno asked.
"He calls himself Nightshroud," Syrus replied. "He kidnapped me to lure Jaden here."
"Is Jaden alright?" Alexis pleaded.
"He won't be for long," Nightshroud said as he walked up to the halfbreed duelist.
Nightshroud stomped on Jaden's back. He felt searing pain in his lower back while his masked foe added on the pressure.
"Ready to die, halfbreed?" Nightshroud asked while Jaden began to feel his vampire instinct kicking in.
"Fuck you!!" Jaden screamed as he twist himself to his feet and punched Nightshroud in the face.
"Jaden!" Alexis screamed. 'What's wrong with him? Where's the Jaden I know and love?'
The half-vampire duelist savagely beatened the masked familiar with every inch of his life, getting his blood on his hands in the process. Jaden looked at Nightshroud's blood on his gloved hands and licked off his right hand.
"Ya wanna be a vampire so god damn bad?" Jaden asked with a hint of demonic anger. "Don't worry, ya're gonna be one."
Jaden grabbed Nightshroud's hair and pulled down his collar to expose his neck. Before he could sink his fangs into the masked familiar, Jaden felt a surge of flashbacks through his mind. Jaden noticed two kids dressed in school uniforms. One was Alexis as a little kid and the other was a kid around the age of 13-15 years of age. Alexis and her older brother were playing a game of Duel Monsters then the flashback switched to the two eating ice cream then finally switched the day when her brother was playing a game of Duel Monsters against a masked man with flowing white hair and lost. Jaden shook himself back to reality as he looked at Nightshroud.
'It can't be him,' Jaden said mentally as he removed Nightshroud's mask.
The vampire-human duelist gasped upon seeing Nightshroud's true face. Nightshroud was really Alexis' older brother, Atticus Rhodes. Jaden dropped Nightshroud's mask to the ground. Concerned for her boyfriend's well being, Alexis ran up to him with the feeling that he's okay. Tyranno and Bastion to Syrus' cage prison to free him.
"Back away!" Jaden declared while trying to shield his face from Alexis.
"Jaden? What's wrong?" Alexis pleaded as she looked at him.
"You don't wanna see me this way," Jaden said sadly. "I'm sorry."
"Jaden, wait!" Alexis exclaimed as Jaden ran for his coyote and drove off.
"Jaden, please come back," Alexis said as she began to cry.
But it was no use, Jaden was long gone. She fell to her knees and bawled her eyes out but relief would soon come her way.
"Um, Alexis? Take a look at Nightshroud," Bastion said.
Alexis turned toward her unconscious brother and was totally shellshocked. She grabbed Atticus and hugged him real tight. Tyranno, Bastion, and Syrus felt extreme sadness for Alexis due to Jaden running off and seeing her brother for the first time.
"We should get a Medevac," Tyranno said.
"I'll call an ambulance right now," Bastion said as he pulled out a cell phone and called Domino General hospital.
(Darkwatch outpost)
The ghost door opened within the vehicle bay of the outpost. Jaden sped through the portal and screeched his coyote to a halt. As he got off the vehicle, he saw three armored vampires standing near rows of tank-like vehicles. They looked at Jaden with major hatred in their eyes.
"Look who's back, boys," One of the Nighstalkers said. "It's our halfbreed friend."
"Shit, Zakk. I thought the little nutsack got himself killed on his first mission," Another Nightstalker said.
"I was hoping that would happen, Ozzy," The third Nightstalker said.
"Geezer, Ozzy, chill out," Zakk said. "It ain't nice to call our guest any names."
"Who the fuck are you?" Jaden asked.
"Hm. We're Nightstalkers, halfbreed," Zakk said.
"That bastard Creed may have forced us to team up with the stupid humans," Ozzy said. "But there's no fucking way we're having a halfbreed in the Darkwatch."
"Yeah. Vampire blood may run through your veins but you're still half-human," Geezer said. "We want you gone, halfbreed before we eviscerate your ass."
"You dudes don't wanna mess with me right now. I'm already having a bad day here," Jaden said.
"Oh, we're so scared of a halfbreed," Ozzy said sarcastically. "I'm gonna void my fucking bowels."
"Someone get me a new pair of underwear, I think I pissed myself," Geezer remarked.
"Shut it, boys. Let's show this halfbreed his place in the Darkwatch," Zakk said. "I hope the morgue has one more slab for you, Jaden."
Jaden revealed his vampire fangs as he growled. "If anyone's gonna be on a slab, it's you three fuckers."
"That's it!! Kill him!!!" Zakk screamed.
Before the half-vampire duelist and the three Nightstalkers could fight, a voice shouted, "Enough!!"
"Irving!" Zakk shouted. "What the fuck you want!?"
"You three bastards get out of here, right now!" Irving yelled.
"Like we're gonna listen to you!" Geezer shouted. "I don't know why you turned your back on us Irving but sticking up for a half-vampire is treason to us!"
"I don't give a flying fuck about that," Irving said. "Leave Jaden alone or I'll rip your guts out of your ass."
"Whatever," Zakk said. "Let's beat it, dudes."
The three militant Nightstalkers left the garage as Irving asked, "Are you ok, kid?"
"Never better," Jaden said. "Thanks for sticking up for me."
"Don't mention it. Oh, I have something for you," Irving said as he pulled out a deck of Duel Monster cards. "I think these are yours."
"My cards!" Jaden exclaimed as he took them. "Where did ya find them?"
"They were in your pocket of your school uniform," Irving said. "I figured I give them to you since you went to that school above ground. Dr. Jenkins wanted me to tell you he has the results of your blood test and wants you to go and see him now."
"Ok," Jaden said as he pocketed his cards.
"By the by, My name's Irving Frost," Irving greeted. "I'm sure you already met my partner, Brock Venture."
"I did. It was nice meetin' ya, dude," Jaden said as he headed for Dr. Jenkins' office.
(Dr. Jenkins' office)
Jaden arrived at Eustace's office around five minutes later as the doctor said, "Jaden, have a seat."
"Is there somethin' ya wanna tell me, doc?" Jaden asked.
"Yes. I have the results of your blood test," Dr. Jenkins said. "I have some bad news."
"What is it?" Jaden asked.
"Half of your blood cells are infected by the vampire virus," Dr. Jenkins replied.
"Half?" Jaden echoed.
"Yes but this is very rare in your case," Jenkins said. "Normally, when a vampire bites a human, the cells are quickly consumed by the virus. I have read cases about humans becoming dhampirs from the bite of a full vampire but I never seen a subject like you up close before."
"What's gonna happen to me?" Jaden asked.
"It is fortunate half of your cells remain untainted," Jenkins said. "Theories suggest that humans may have rare enzymes that could prevent full on infection from vampire bites. That could be the reason why you didn't become a full vampire. I could run some more tests on you just to make sure."
"Something happened to me during my mission," Jaden said. "When I was fighting Attic-- I mean Nightshroud, my vampire instinct kicked in and I almost killed him."
"Hm, interesting," Jenkins said. "Might have something to do with the adrenal glands reacting with the vampire virus."
"In english, dude," Jaden said.
"When you felt threatened, the vampire-cells in your body caused your adrenaline to accelerate, making you go into a vampire frenzy," Jenkins said.
"Oh, God," Jaden said. "Is there a cure for my problem?"
Jenkins shook his head sadly. "I'm sorry but there's no cure right now. The only way to keep your vampirism under control is to continue taking the serum."
"I'm so scared, doc," Jaden said while shaken. "I fear of what I'll become. I don't want no one getting hurt because of me."
"I know, Jaden," Eustace said softly. "I know."
(Amnael's mansion)
"That fool Nightshroud has failed me!" Amnael shouted.
"Never send a human to do a vampire's job," A woman wearing a red dress with flowing green hair said.
"Master, send me to care of that halfbreed," A vampire wearing a mask, a black overcoat, and a black derby said. "I want the pleasure of hearing his bones break."
"No, send me," Another vampire wearing an eyepatch, a bandolier around his chest and dark colored pants said with a Christopher Walken voice. "I wanna cut him to pieces."
"You fools will do nothing of the sort," Amnael said. "I have no intention of killing my chosen successor and neither will you two."
"C'mon, boss," Don complained. "Why did you have to choose a kid over us?"
"Don't question me, Zaloog," Amnael said. "I have my reasons. Camula?"
"Yes, master?" Camula asked.
"I want you take 'care' of Jaden," Amnael said.
Camula smiled sultrily. "Of course. This plan of yours does require a woman's touch, after all."
"Oh, please," A woman wearing a yellow tube top, black pants, and boots with long brown hair tied in a pony tail said.
"Quiet, Tania," Camula said in a firm tone of voice. "I'm so looking forward spending some time with Jaden. Ha ha ha ha ha."
With that said, Camula turned herself into a flock of bats and flew out of the window into the pale moon night.
