Author's note: Once again, thanks for all the good reviews. As I said before, Jaden's life has been falling apart since he was bitten and further more, he pushed Alexis away due to him bein' a dhampir. And his joinin' the Darkwatch hasn't been easy for him either. Jaden has been dealin' with the racism and prejudice from both human and vampire agents. Nonetheless, a pure blood named Camula is comin' after him and what's her plans for our vampire-human hybrid duelist? Let's begin the show, my fellow wolves and vampire fans.

Chapter 3:
Killer Inside

(Duel Academy, Alexis' dorm)

Alexis laid on her bed in her dorm. She decided to take the day off from classess due to personal problems. Those problems were seeing her beloved Jaden running out on her and her brother Atticus recovering in Domino General Hospital. Even though she was glad to see Atticus back in her life, she was overwhelmed with grief of seeing Jaden running away like that. The very thought of it still haunted her like demons from the past. Alexis would be mad at Jaden right now but she just couldn't let anger consume her. Alexis' two friends, Mindy and Jasmine, walked into the room to cheer their friend up.

"Hey there, Alexis, Mindy cheered.

"I know you're feeling a little down about Jaden right now," Jasmine said. "But I think it's time for you to find a new man."

"Yeah, like Chazz Princeton," Mindy said. "He's so dreamy."

"Oh, please," Alexis said irritably. "He's a total ego-freak."

"At least he won't run out on ya," Mindy said.

"Will you both just leave me alone?" Alexis asked.

"Come on, Alexis. Get out of this major funk," Jasmine said. "Jaden will come back. You'll see."

"Yeah. He knows his way around the island better than anyone," Mindy said.

"I hope you're right, Mindy," Alexis said. "I hope you're right."

"Now, wash up and get dressed," Jasmine said. "We're having a girl's night out."

"Ok, I just need to clear my head for awhile anyway," Alexis said

(Darkwatch outpost)

Jaden sat on his bed while listening to Alice in Chains' "Man in the Box". This song echoed his disposition real well, Jaden did feel like he was buried in shit. He felt totally bad about running away from Alexis and his friends. Jaden thought Alexis would hate him forever for doing what he did the previous night. He wanted to apologize to her but he was afraid she would reject him and call him a monster since he was a vampire-human hybrid. Jaden heard a knock on the door, it was his fellow agent, Brock Venture.

"What's goin' on, Jay?" Brock asked.

"It's nothin', Brock," Jaden said.

"C'mon, dude. Ya can tell me," Brock said. "What's eatin' ya, dude?"

"It's this girl," Jaden said.

"Whoa, cowboy," Brock said. "Ya never told me ya got a special lady in your life."

"I do. Her name's Alexis," Jaden said.

"Do ya have a picture of her?" Brock asked.

"Yeah," Jaden said as he reached into his coat pocket and gave Brock Alexis' picture.

Brock looked at Alexis' picture as he said, "Damn, she's beautiful. Ya one lucky bastard, Jay."

Brock returned the photo to Jaden. "Yeah but I'm afraid she wouldn't see me ever again after what I did."

"What happened?" Brock asked.

Jaden told Brock about how his first mission went down and how he got scared about what kind reaction Alexis would have if she saw him as he was now. The whole story almost made Jaden wanna break down but Brock did his best to comfort the young duelist.

"Don't cry, dude," Brock said. "This Alexis girl won't think ya're a monster. Ya should take the night off and go see her."

"Ya think so?" Jaden asked.

"Yeah," Brock said. "Ya care about her, so go back to your old school and see her."

"Ok, thanks," Jaden said.

"I'm afraid that won't happen," Trent said as he came into the room.

"What?" Jaden asked shockingly.

"Sorry to dash your hopes, halfbreed but you got a mission right now," Trent said. "A Pure Blood named Camula is stalking the school grounds. There were reports of students turning up missing in some parts of the school grounds."

"Think they became vampires, chief?" Brock asked.

"We don't know for sure, so that's why I want the halfbreed to go and investigate," Trent said.

"Quit calling me that," Jaden said angrily.

"Just get to the vehicle bay and stop Camula," Trent said. "You better not mingle with the outsiders especially with that little whore, Alexis."

Jaden growled in anger. "Don't call Alexis a whore, got that!?"

"Just shut the fuck up and get ready," Trent said.

"Jerk off," Jaden said as he left the room. 'One of these days, I'm gonna kick his ass.'

Jaden headed for the vehicle bay of the Darkwatch post. Once again, he endured the racial rantings from both human and vampire agents. Jaden was getting tired of it all. He wanted to tear out their throats and consume their blood but he had a mission right now. The dhampir duelist got on his coyote and drove off into the ghost door while almost running over a vampire agent in the process.

"That son of a bitch. One of these days, I'm gonna tear him a new asshole," Jaden said angrily. "No need for him to kick me around like this just because I'm half-vampire."

As he drove, Jaden took out an injection gun filled with serum. Jaden stopped the steamwagon as he rolled up his left coat sleeve then injected the serum into his system. Jaden let out a painful hiss as the serum coursed through his blood. He felt excruciating pain in his joints and his body but it soon passed. Jaden threw the injection gun to the ground as he saw his old school in the distance.

"Duel Academy...how I miss her," Jaden said. "Alexis, I'll see you soon."

The vampire-human hybrid duelist jumped high into the air, straight into the school grounds. Jaden landed feet first near his old dorm. It had been a while since he last been into his dorm. He walked up to the door and opened it. It hadn't changed all that much except an Xbox 360 sitting on his desk and Jaden didn't remember having an Xbox 360 in his dorm. Standing next to it were a collection of games: Prey, Gears of War, Perfect Dark Zero, Quake 4, Condemned: Criminal Origins, F.E.A.R., and Kameo.

'Why's there an Xbox 360 in my old dorm?' Jaden asked himself mentally.

"Who the fuck are you and what the hell are you doing in here!?" A southern voice demanded.

"I'd ask you the same question," Jaden said as he saw Tyranno standing in the door way of the dorm. "Should you be in the sophmore dorm?"

"I'd prefer to stay here, thank you very much," Tyranno said. "Now who are ya, soldier?"

"I'm Jaden Yuki, regulator of the Darkwatch," Jaden replied.

"Regulator? What in tarnation does that mean?" Tyranno asked as he saw vampire fangs in Jaden's mouth. "And what's with the vampire get-up?"

"It's kinda of a long story," Jaden said. "As for the vampire get-up, I got bitten."

"Show me," Tyranno said.

Jaden showed Tyranno the bite wounds on the right side of his neck. Tyranno let out a curious whistle as he said, "So you're a vampire, now."

"Half," Jaden said.

"Half? I thought humans become vampires after they were bitten," Tyranno said.

"Well, not all of them," Jaden said. "Something deep within the human body can fight off the vampire virus to prevent further infection. that's makes us dhampirs."

"Does that make ya some kinda metahuman?" Tyranno asked.

"I'm not sure," Jaden said. "Sadly, this very thing deep inside me won't cure me of the thirst."

"Thirst?" Tyranno echoed.

"Like vampires, dhampirs must drink blood too," Jaden said.

"Mind tellin' me what a dhampir is," Tyranno said.

"He's a vampire/human hybird, my dear," A female voice hissed as Tyranno turned around to see a green-haired women in a red dress within the dorm.

"Who are you?" Jaden asked.

"I'm Camula," Camula introduced. "I'm a member of the Shadow Riders."

"Wow, she's hot," Tyranno said.

"Don't let her looks fool ya, dude," Jaden said. "She's a pure-blood."

"Nice detective work, sweetheart," Camula said. "Did the Darkwatch teach you everything about me?"

"What do ya want, Camula?" Jaden asked.

"You, of course," Camula said with a purr.

"Me? I already got a girlfriend," Jaden said.

"Oh, come on," Camula complained. "Why should a dhampir settle on a lowly mortal when he could settle on a superior pure-blood like me?"

"Forget it," Jaden said.

"You'll become my mate whether you like it or not," Camula said. "Vulcan, attack!"

Camula summoned a grey furred werewolf wearing torn green pants. Vulcan growled and charged at Jaden but he ended up getting whacked in the head with a chair by Tyranno. Camula smiled as she said, "I like this guy, perhaps he would make a suitable mate."

Camula lunged at Tyranno, she opened her mouth to reveal her fangs then bit him. Tyranno screamed as Jaden shouted, "Tyranno, no!"

The vampiress released the muscled sophmore from her bite then he collapsed to the floor. Jaden ran to Tyranno and cradled him in his arms.

"Dude, are you ok?" Jaden asked with concern.

"Never been better," Tyranno said as he flashed his vampire fangs at the vampire-human hybrid duelist.

"Oh, shit! Jaden exclaimed as Tyranno grabbed him by the coat's collar.

"You will surrender yourself to Mistress Camula, halfbreed," Tyranno said as he got up.

"What did ya call me?" Jaden asked with shock.

"Don't make this any harder than it already is," Camula said. "I can show you what it means to be a vampire."

"Kiss my ass," Jaden said defiantly.

"I prefer to kiss this," Camula said as she kissed Jaden's lips and slipped him the tongue.

Camula pulled away and gave the vampire-human hybrid duelist a sexual smile then gave Tyranno and Vulcan the orders to beat him without mercy. Jaden was tossed out the window by Tyranno as Vulcan went after him. Camula summoned her vampire servants, who were really the kidnapped students, to help out. Tyranno, Vulcan, and the student vampires were ready to give Jaden a beating but our hero had other plans.

Knowning the vampire servants were once innocent students, Jaden couldn't kill them. The vampire students let out hisses as they went after him. Jaden dodged their advances, he growled and knocked out of the students with a simple punch to the jaw. The vampire-human duelist knocked another student out with a knee to the chin. He took out two more vampire students with punches to the stomach. Then he took out the last vampire with a roundhouse kick to the head. After taking out Camula's servants, Camula, Tyranno, and Vulcan surrounded him.

"Last chance, dhampir," Camula said. "Be with me or die."

"Forget it," Jaden said.

"What a pity," Camula said. "We would've made such a beautiful couple but you threw it all way because of that mortal whore. Tyranno, Vulcan, kill him."

"With pleasure, Mistress Camula," Tyranno said as he cracked his knuckles.

"Tyranno, I don't wanna hurt ya," Jaden said.

"I don't wanna hurt you either, soldier," Tyranno hissed. "But I gotta do what I must for my master."

Tyranno and Vulcan charged after Jaden. The vampire-human duelist tripped the military cowboy to the ground while Vulcan tackled him.

"That's right, Vulcan! Take out the daywalker!" Camula shouted.

The zombie werewolf picked up the vampire-human duelist by the neck and choke slammed him to the ground. Before Vulcan could deliver another choke slam, Jaden bit on the arm to escape. Vulcan howled in pain.

'Good thing I packed some silver bullets,' Jaden said mentally, loading some silver rounds into his redeemers.

Jaden fired silver rounds at Vulcan but the zombie werewolf jumped into the air and avoided them. Vulcan got on top of Jaden and slammed his head to the side of his former dorm house. Vulcan held Jaden against the dorm's exterior wall while Jaden sneaked his hand down his boot to pull out his silver boot knife. The vampire-human duelist stabbed the undead wolf in the left shoulder, causing the monster to yelp in pain.

"Time to eat silver, motherfucker!" Jaden shouted as he grabbed his redeemers.

Jaden fired silver rounds at Vulcan but this time, he didn't get away. Every round of hot silver sent painful stings throughout the wolfman's body. As Vulcan went to his knees, Jaden plunged one of the redeemers into the wolfman's mouth and pulled the trigger. Vulcan fell flat on his back as he voided his bowels.

"Eww," Jaden said. "No need to hear that."

Camula growled. "No one destroys my beloved pet!! Tyranno, kill him!!!"

"With pleasure, Colonial Camula," Tyranno hissed. "Time to die, halfbreed."

"I'm so getting tired of hearing that," Jaden said.

Tyranno and Jaden did battle. Tyranno grabbed Jaden and threw him several feet across the yard. Jaden crashed to the ground as Tyranno jumped into the air to deliver a double-handed smash but Jaden out of the way. The vampire sophmore created a pothole in the ground as the vampire-human hybrid duelist jumped onto his right hand and did a few spinning kicks to Tyranno's face. Jaden got to his feet, snuck behind Tyranno, and gave him a backcracker. Jaden grabbed Hassleberry by the hair and slugged him in the back. Tyranno turned himself around and chopped Jaden in the throat. The vampire-human hybrid duelist let out a few choked coughs as the vampire sophmore flashed his fangs.

"I wonder what the blood of a halfbreed taste like," Tyranno said.

Hassleberry was about to bite Jaden's neck but before he could do that, something in his blood began to fight the vampire virus. Tyranno screamed as he released Jaden.

'What the fuck is happenin' to him?' Jaden asked mentally.

Tyranno's fangs reverted back to his normal teeth as the pain stopped. He was human once again.

"What the hell happened?" Tyranno asked.

"Dude, ya went psychotic for a while," Jaden said.

"Shit," Tyranno said. "I feel like a bucking bronco just kicked me in the head."

"Don't worry, Hassleberry. That vampire whore will pay!" Jaden declared.

"Hmph. Want things done right, you got to do it yourself," Camula said. "Time to die, dhampir!"

Camula summoned a swarm of vampire bats to attack Jaden. The bats circled around the vampire-human hybrid duelist as they scratched and bit at him. He swat at the bats but more kept on coming. Camula mentally ordered her bats to hold him. She walked up to him as she asked, "Any last words before I kill you?"

"Don't have to," Jaden said.

"What are you talking about?" Camula asked.

"The sun is coming up," Jaden said.

"What?" Camula asked as she looked at the sunrise.

As the sun's rays bathed the scenary, Camula's flesh started to sizzle. She let out a scream that echoed into the morning sky. Her whole body had blackened and ashed. Camula's remains was nothing more than a pile of ash, bone, and skull. Soon enough, the morning winds blew the remains into the sky, never to be seen again.

"Damn, she was one sex crazed bitch," Tyranno said.

"Two down, four to go," Jaden said. "Hassleberry, what made you revert back to your oldself again?"

"A long time ago, I was in a rock slide accident during an archaeological dig," Tyranno said. "To save my life, the doctors replaced the tibia bone in my left leg with a fossil I found in the dig. Perhaps the bone in my leg may have something to do with my transformation back to human."

"Damn," Jaden said. "I should get going. Hassleberry, if you see Alexis, tell her I'll see her soon and I'm sorry for running out on her."

"Of course," Tyranno said. "What about the students right here?"

"Don't worry, I don't think they'll remember bein' vampires," Jaden said. "I'll see ya around, dude."

Jaden jumped into the air to return to his coyote. Later on that day, Jaden returned to the Darkwatch headquarters. Brock and Irving stood there in the garage.

"Look who's back, Brock," Irving said.

"Jaden, how'd the mission go?" Brock asked.

"Pretty well," Jaden replied. "The students are fine and hope they don't remember what happened to them."

"Did you take your serum before the mission?" Irving asked.

"Yeah but for some reason, it caused pains in my body," Jaden replied. "I'm gonna go see Dr. Jenkins about this."

Jaden went to Eustace's office to tell the doctor about the serum and how it caused pain in his joints.

"Dr. Jenkins, are you here?" Jaden asked.

"Jaden, have a sit," Eustace said. "What can I do for you?"

"It's about the serum," Jaden said.

"What about it?" Eustace asked.

"For some reason, this serum is causing harm to me rather than helping me," Jaden said.

"Hmm, I'll look into this," Dr. Jenkins said. "I'll just draw your blood and find out what's going on."

Dr. Jenkins pulled out a syringe and drew blood from the dhampir duelist. He analyzed Jaden's blood and discovered something shocking. Eustace returned to his office with some rather bad news.

"I got some bad news," Eustace said.

"What is it?" Jaden asked.

"Your system is building up a tolerance toward the serum," Dr. Jenkins said. "I'm gonna have to increase the dosage a bit but there is a 50/50 chance the serum might kill you rather than help you."

"I'm willing to do anything," Jaden said.

"Ok," Dr. Jenkins said. "I'll let the scientists know about this."

(Freshmen dorm)

Alexis had just got back from a hospital visit with her brother after a day of partying. She walked to Jaden's dorm to see Tyranno sitting on the stoop.

"Hello, Tyranno," Alexis said.

"Damn, Alexis," Tyranno said. "You look like crap."

"Tell me about it," Alexis. "I hadn't slept in twenty four hours."

"This isn't like you," Tyranno said. "Come, let me get you into the house."

Tyranno escorted Alexis into the house and sat her down on the bottom bunk bed.

"I just saw Jaden a while ago," Tyranno said.

Alexis' tired eyes sparked to life upon hearing his name. "You did?"

"Yeah. He said he'll see you soon and he was sorry," Tyranno said.

"That's great," Alexis said with a tired smile. "At least I know he still loves me..."

Alexis fell asleep. Tyranno grabbed her before she hit her head on the bed. He lay her down and cover her up with the bed sheets. Soon enough, Prof. Banner, Bastion, and Syrus entered the door.

"Hello, Hassleberry," Syrus said.

"Shh, Alexis is asleep," Tyranno said. "She's had a hard night."

"Oh, sorry," Syrus said in a hushed tone.

"Did you find Jaden by any chance?" Banner asked.

"Nah," Tyranno said. "Besides Alexis, I didn't see anyone at all last night."

"We'll keep our eyes peeled then," Bastion said.

"We should get to class," Syrus said.

"You guys go on ahead," Tyranno yawned. "I'm more tired than a one-legged man in a ass kickin' contest."

"All right but be sure to stop by my class room this afternoon," Prof. Banner said.

"Ok," Hassleberry said as he climbed the top bunk and went to sleep.

"Come," Banner said as he, Bastion, and Syrus left. "We have class now." Banner said mentally, 'Jaden's vampire powers are evolving at a rapid rate. His next test will soon be at hand.'

To be continued...

End note: Thus ends chapter 3. It seems Jaden's vampire powers are becoming more powerful by the minute. How much could his human side will take? In the next chapter, Jaden and Alexis will be reunited and I should warn ya, the next chapter will contain sexual content. Another of Amnael's agents will be coming after him but who will it be? Tania or Titan or Don Zaloog? And how does Banner know bout Jaden being a dhampir? Well, my fellow wolves and vampire fans, let's wait and see.

May the Wolf spirit guide thee...
