Author's note: Over the last three chapters, I may have gone a little overboard in the language department. I would like to offer a sincere apology to one of my reviewers, Poison's Ivy. I won't use the one word that offends ya as much in future chapters. Anyway, in this chapter, our main characters, Jaden and Alexis, will be reunited but another of Amnael's vampire minions is out to cause some trouble. In this two-part chapter, Jaden faces one of the most toughest vampires yet, a hitman named Titan. Will our vampire/human hybrid duelist survive his most dangerous and deadliest fight yet? Let's start the show, my fellow wolves and vampire fans!

Chapter 4:
Torn Apart

It was a quiet day at Duel Academy. Alexis headed for her next class of the day but she wouldn't get through it with Jaden on her mind. Her constant worry about him caused her grades to slip a bit. Her teachers knew of her dilemma and asked her if she would like to take the rest of the day off but Alexis told them no because she didn't want to be behind on her studies. After her class ended, Alexis ran into Jaden's rival, Chazz Princeton.

"Hello, beautiful," Chazz said.

"Hi, Chazz," Alexis said irritably.

"I heard that loser boyfriend of yours went missing," Chazz said. "How would you like to date a real dude like me?"

"Not in this lifetime," Alexis said.

"C'mon, a beautiful woman like you shouldn't date that retard," Chazz said. "You've been dating him for how long now, a year? I'm suprised you both didn't have sex yet."

"Fuck off, Chazz!" Alexis shouted.

"Don't give me that. I can tell you wanna bang him so damn bad," Chazz said matter of factly.

"That's none of your damned business, Chazz," Alexis responded.

"Don't get pissed off at me for telling the truth, sweetheart," Chazz said. "Just admit it, Alexis. You want him so god damn bad."

Alexis blushed. "All right, I do. I do want to make love to Jaden. Happy?"

"I knew it," Chazz said. "The problem is that little retard ain't here. So you missed out on that once in a lifetime opportunity."

It was then Bastion, Syrus, and Hassleberry appeared.

"Back the fuck off, private," Tyranno said. "Can't you see Alexis is hurtin'?"

"What do you know, jarhead?" Chazz asked. "I was just sayin' she wants to fuck Jaden so damn bad. She even admitted it to me."

"You can be such an asshole, Chazz," Bastion said. "Always kicking people when they're down."

"Oh, sick burn," Syrus said.

"Shut the fuck up, Gobot!" Chazz declared

"Hey! Don't call me a Gobot!" Syrus shouted. "And besides, what gave you the right to pick on Jaden like that!?"

"Ha! I'm glad that loser isn't here," Chazz said. "I can finally walk these hallways without hearin' his big fat mouth. I'm headin' to my dorm. Smell ya later, losers."

Chazz walked off while Alexis and co. looked at him with disgust. It was bad enough to see Jaden missing for quite sometime but hearing Chazz talk trash about him was too far. Alexis wanted to beat Chazz up for badmouthing about her Jaden like that but was put on the back burner for now because she and the others were heading for Prof. Banner's class.

(Darkwatch outpost)

Jaden was in the cafeteria, eating some meat and potatos for dinner. He just got back from Dr. Jenkins' office for his usual serum shots. Jenkins told him to take it three times day in order to control his vampire hunger. The young dhampir duelist never sat with the other agents. Even though he had friends in Brock and Irving, no other human or vampire wouldn't even bother talking to him other than degrading him about his vampire-human ethnicity. Jaden also had to cope with loneliness since Alexis isn't around. He wanted to see her really bad and tell her just how much he missed her but the general wouldn't allow him to go near her. Jaden just had to wait for the right opportunity to go and see Alexis.

"Halfbreed, I believe your dinner is quite dinner done," Trent said as he came to Jaden's table.

"What do you want, old man?" Jaden asked defiantly.

"I have another mission for you, halfbreed," Trent said.

"What is it, fucko?" Jaden asked.

"Titan is about make his presence known," Gen. Creed said. "Sources tell us he's coming after that whore's brother."

"His name is Atticus and don't call Alexis a whore!" Jaden shouted.

"Shut up, boy," Trent said. "Get your ass over to the Hunter-Killer chopper, halfbreed. After the mission's over, you better get back here. If you go off to go see that girl, I'll crucify your ass, halfbreed. Got it?"

"Whatever," Jaden said irritably.

Jaden left the cafeteria for the hanger. As he walked for the vehicle bay, Jaden thought about Alexis. Although he was told to stay, Jaden wasn't gonna listen. He planned on seeing her once his latest mission was over and done with. When Jaden arrived at the hanger, he saw Brock and Irving and a man dressed in a Darkwatch uniform standing next to a blue-black heavily armored helicopter. The 'copter had a gatling gun and a missile launcher on each wing. The wings of the chopper resembled dragon wings and had the Darkwatch symbol on the nose.

"You seem to be in awe, kid," Irving said. "This is the Hunter-Killer helicopter."

"The armor on this baby is ten times stronger than metal and steel put together," Brock said. "It can withstand just about anything. Oh, Jaden, this is Marcus Bleszinski. He's gonna be your pilot."

"Hi, Jaden," Marcus said. "The bossman tells me you're heading for Domino General?"

"Yeah," Jaden replied.

"Alright, let's go," Marcus said. "It's fly time."

Jaden jumped on board the Hunter-Killer as it was getting ready to leave. As it left the hanger for the Domino skies, Bleszinski activated the chopper's cloaking device.

"I activated the cloaking device so no one wouldn't see us," Marcus said. "Gotta remain top-secret, ya know."

"Of course," Jaden said.

The Hunter-Killer flew through the Domino City night toward Domino General. Finally, the chopper arrived at the hospital as Marcus said, "Atticus' room should be on the fifth floor of the hospital. Make sure you don't cause a ruckus, ok? Good luck, rookie. I'll be back within fifteen minutes."

Jaden nodded then jumped out of the Hunter-Killer. The dhampir duelist landed on his feet as the 'copter flew off. Jaden drew out his redeemer, equipped a silencer on his weapon, and entered the hospital via the roof access. He wandered through the dark hallway to find an elevator. Jaden stumbled upon an elevator but it was out of order. It was no problem for him since he had vampire strength. He opened the door and jumped down the shaft. Jaden jumped down from floor to floor but he knew might not make it in time to save his lover's brother. When he came to the fourteenth floor, a working elevator was coming down his way.

'Thank you, lady luck,' Jaden said in his head then jumped to the roof of the elevator.

The elevator carried him several more floors until it stopped to Jaden's destined stop. The doors opened up as a nurse exited the elevator. Jaden opened up the hatch and jumped into the elevator, he stopped the doors from closing then walked out of the elevator to continue his search. Meanwhile, Titan walked through the hallway toward Atticus' room. He was sent to the hospital to find the former Nightshroud and kill him. To make sure he didn't drew any attention to himself, Titan disguised himself as a orderly. When he found Atticus' room, he saw the poor student was sleeping in bed with an oxygen mask over his face and had an iv tube filled with morphine attached to his wrist.

"Atticus, Atticus, Atticus," Titan said as he pulled out a needle from the pocket of his black overcoat. "You were never cut to be one of us. You were and always will be a lowly familiar."

The needle suddenly exploded in his hand as he hissed. Titan saw Jaden standing in the doorway with his redeemer smoking at the barrel.

"Back away from Atticus before the next shot goes into your head," Jaden ordered.

"So the halfbreed shows up," Titan said. "You're willing to save this little punk after kidnapping your best friend?"

"He wasn't himself when I took care of him," Jaden said. "Now, back away from Atticus before I knock your nads up your nostrils."

"You dumb little retard," Titan smirked. "You protect these weak humans yet they disgrace you just because you're a half-vampire. You even ran away from the girl you love because she'll think you're a monster."

"Shut up!" Jaden shouted.

"Does the truth hurt, my boy? Huh?" Titan asked rhetorically. "The truth is we're all monsters in a way. Wanna know what makes us monsters?"

"I've had enough of your god damn mouth!" Jaden shouted. "I repeat: step away from Atticus before I destroy you!"

"Ok, whatever you say," Titan said as he put his hands up, stepped away, and tackled Jaden.

Titan smacked Jaden's redeemer out of his hand and grabbed him by the neck. The vampire-human hybrid duelist was thrown across the hallway which scared a couple of nurses who were just passing by. While they ran off to call security, Jaden yanked off a fire extinguisher off the wall. He sprayed the towered vampire in the face with the extinguisher then bashed him in the face with it. As Titan tried to regain his senses, Jaden ran to grab his redeemer. Jaden grabbed his weapon and fired a few shots. Titan was hit but it didn't slow him down. Titan grabbed Jaden by the coat and slammed him against the wall.

Jaden twirled the gun around and slashed the black-clad vampire across the face. Titan released him as he placed his hand on the cut.

"You bastard! You retard!" Titan shouted.

Jaden's eyes suddenly turned red with rage. "Don't ever call me a retard!"

Jaden let out a tiger growl as he bashed Titan across the jaw. Jaden proceeded to give Titan a beating of his life. Blood seeped down the dark user's head. Jaden raised his redeemer up high as he said, "Time to die, scumbag."

Before Jaden could deliver a killing blow to Titan, he started to see mental images of Alexis within his mind. This sudden revelation snapped him back into reality. The wounded Titan took advantage by conjuring up shadow magic and blasted the vampire-human hybrid duelist in the chest. Titan got up as his injuries began to heal themselves.

"It seems I've underestimated you," Titan said. "No one has ever beaten me this badly like my father did when I was a kid. You're pretty strong for a dumb halfbreed but it's time for you to die now."

"Bring it on," Jaden said.

Titan conjured up some shadow magic and fired at Jaden. He quickly dodged the incoming shadow ball as Titan prepared another shadow ball.

"Time to sleep with the maggots!" Titan shouted as he fired the shadow ball at Jaden.

"Not tonight!" Jaden shouted as he avoided the incoming shadow ball and bashed Titan in the chin with his knee.

Two security guards came to the scene with guns drawn on Jaden and Titan. They opened fire as Titan makes his escape. The bullets struck Jaden in the chest but luckily, he wore an armored vest.

"Are you outta your damn mind!? I'm one of the good guys!" Jaden shouted.

The two security guards ran off as Jaden searched for Titan. Titan ran through the hospital hallway to escape while he bumped into a few orderlies and doctors along the way. Suddenly, he felt a hot sting in his right leg. Titan crashed to the floor as he realized he got shot. He saw a silhouette of Jaden standing a few feet away with his redeemer drawn.

Titan growled as Jaden said, "Thought you could escape me, Titan? I don't think so."

"You little turd," Titan taunted. "You haven't beaten me yet."

"What the hell are you talking about?" Jaden asked as Titan ripped open his coat to reveal a bomb wrapped around his chest.

"If I die, I'm gonna take you and everyone else with me!" Titan screamed as he pulled out the detonator from his pocket and pressed it.

The bomb was set to go off in ten seconds, so Jaden had no time to waste. He quickly tore the bomb off Titan's chest and tossed it out of the window. Within about three or five seconds, the bomb exploded. The impact from the explosion caused everything to rock as Jaden tried to keep his balance. Titan took advantage and made his escape for the second time.

After the impact calmed down, Jaden noticed Titan was gone.

"Oh, man. Titan escaped," Jaden said to himself. "The general won't shut up about this."

Jaden checked on Atticus to make sure Titan didn't come back to finish the job.

'Thank god he's alright,' Jaden said with relief. Jaden said out loud, "Get well, Atticus. See ya soon."

Jaden returned to the hospital roof to see the Hunter-Killer flying overhead.

"Jaden, you ok?" Marcus asked as he landed the chopper.

"Yeah but Titan got the hell outta dodge," Jaden said.

"There's always next time," Marcus said. "Come, Let's head back to HQ."

"Actually, can you drop me off near the school?" Jaden asked.

"What!? Are you fucking nuts!? Creed will chew me out for this!" Marcus declared.

"Screw him," Jaden said. "I've been doin' these missions non-stop without a break. I think it's about time I had one."

"Fine by me but if Creed finds out, he'll kill ya," Marcus said.

"Yeah, whatever," Jaden said. "Dude's a jackass anyway."

Jaden boarded the chopper and left the hospital sometime later for Duel Academy Island.

(Duel Academy, Freshmen dorm)

Alexis was sleeping in one of the bunk beds while Hassleberry was Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning. The sound of a chainsaw on the tv had somehow woke Alexis up.

"Hey, Hassleberry, mind turning that down?" Alexis asked.

"Sure thing," Hassleberry said as he turned down the volume of his tv.

Meanwhile, the Hunter-Killer helicopter flew over the school. Jaden jumped out of the chopper and landed on his feet. Jaden made his way toward his old dorm. He arrived at his old dorm building to see Hassleberry and Alexis watched a horror movie. Jaden knocked on the window to get Alexis' attention. Alexis turned her head to see Jaden peeking through the window and gasped. Jaden placed his index finger in front of his mouth.

Alexis thought up away to get Tyranno Hassleberry out of the dorm so she could speak with Jaden.

"Tyranno, can you do me a small favor?" Alexis asked.

"Sure, what is it?" Tyranno asked.

"Can you leave the dorm just for one night?" Alexis asked.

"What for?" Hassleberry asked.

"No reason," Alexis lied.

"Fine. I'll just take my TCM movies to the sophmore dorm," Tyranno said as he grabbed his movies. "See if Bastion and Syrus would like to watch 'em. Knowin' Syrus, he'll probably wet his pants."

Hassleberry left for the sophmore dorm. Alexis gave Jaden the go ahead to come in. So she opened up the window and Jaden crawled on in. Alexis quickly gave Jaden a hug as she felt relief and sadness.

"Jaden! It's so nice to see you!" Alexis exclaimed.

"Nice to see you too," Jaden said as he started getting teary-eyed. "Alexis...I'm...I'm..."

"You don't need to say it," Alexis said. "But there is something I want to ask you. Where were you all this time?"

"It's...a long story," Jaden said.

"Tell me, the whole thing," Alexis said firmly.

Jaden told Alexis where he was over the last several days. He told her he joined an elite secret society known as the Darkwatch and how he was on a series of missions, dealing with monsters and his fellow agents picking on him. Jaden even told Alexis about the day of the attack. He told her he was attacked by a vampire. Alexis had to drink all this information as the last part kinda scared her.

"You were attacked by a vampire?" Alexis asked shockingly. "Does that mean You're a vampire now?"

"Half," Jaden said. "The reason why I ran away from you is because...you'll probably think I'm a monster."

"No, that's not true!" Alexis declared. "You are not a monster! I don't care if you're human, vampire, or alien. I love you, Jaden."

Jaden was suddenly snapped out of his funk upon hearing Alexis' words.

"There's something that has been bothering me for awhile," Alexis said.

"What is it?" Jaden asked.

"It's something Chazz had said to me," Alexis replied.

"What did that asshole say to you?" Jaden asked. "Say the word and I'll teach him a lesson."

"He said we haven't taking our relationship to the next level," Alexis said.

"What's he prying into our business for?" Jaden asked.

"I don't know," Alexis said. "But it did got me thinking."

"What are you thinking about?" Jaden asked.

"Jaden, have you ever thought about doing it?" Alexis asked.

Jaden blushed upon hearing what Alexis said. "Well, it never cross my mind."

"We've been together for nearly a year and we never had sex yet," Alexis said.

"Look at me, Alexis. Who wants to make love to a freak?" Jaden asked as he exposed his vampire fangs to Alexis.

"You're not a freak, Jaden," Alexis said firmly. "As I said before, I don't care if you're a vampire or a human. I love you just the way you are."

Jaden smiled. "I love you too, sweetheart."

"So when you do wanna get started?" Alexis asked sultrily.

Jaden gave Alexis a wry smirk and walked toward her. They proceeded to kiss each other. They pulled away as they got onto the lower bunk. Jaden leaned back down and kissed Alexis once again. Soon enough, Jaden pulled away as he asked, "Are you sure about this?"

"Yes, Jaden," Alexis said softly. "Make me yours."

He smiled and proceeded to kiss her again. They pulled away a bit as Jaden removed Alexis' shirt. He stared at her breasts as he felt his sexual impulses coursing downward to his groin. Alexis removed Jaden's coat and shirt to get a good look at his semi-muscular chest. Jaden leaned back down and kissed her once more. Alexis thrusted her tongue into Jaden's mouth as he did the same. Their kiss deepened and became more passionate.

They pulled away again but only to take off their remaining clothes. Jaden blushed upon seeing Alexis totally naked, feeling even more turned on from just looking at her. Alexis was red with arousal when she eyed at a naked Jaden. Her eyes wandered down to his groin and blushed a crimson red. They anticipated what would follow.

Jaden thrusted himself into Alexis as they let out moans of passion and pleasure. During the heat of the moment, Jaden's vampire side kicked in. The vampire-human hybrid duelist sanked his fangs into his lover's neck as she let out a sexual moan. Jaden dug his fangs deeper into Alexis then pulled back, letting out a loud hiss. When Jaden came back to his senses, he noticed Alexis was unconscious and was very pale as a ghost.

"Oh, my God! What have I done!?" Jaden screamed. "Alexis!? Alexis, speak to me!"

All Alexis let out was a soft groan.

"Hang on, sweetheart!" Jaden declared. "I'll get you to the Darkwatch!"

Jaden quickly put on his clothes and wrapped Alexis' semi-dying body in his leather overcoat. He left his old dorm and ran back to the Darkwatch outpost as fast as he could. Fatigue set in as our anti-hero continued running but his will persevered. Jaden was able to arrive back at the outpost through the vehicle bay only to be confronted by Creed and a few of his troops. He noticed pure rage in his commanding officer's eyes as Trent asked, "Where the fuck have you been, halfbreed!?"

"Why the fuck are you yelling at me for!?" Jaden argued. "Can't you see this girl is in danger!?"

"Roy, get the girl to the medical bay, stat!" Trent ordered.

"Right, General," Roy said as he took Alexis away from Jaden and rushed her to the medical bay with his fellow agents.

Trent let out an angry sigh as he said, "I can't believe you disobeyed orders. I told you not to see that girl but you did anyway."

"I wanted to see her again, Creed," Jaden said defiantly.

"Yeah and now she's gonna become a freaking halfbreed thanks to you!" Trent shouted. "Don't you have any fucking common sense what so ever!?"

"Yeah, I do but I think you're the one who doesn't have common sense!" Jaden shouted. "I'm so sick and tired of you always degrading me like this! I can see why you hate vampires so bad but why take your prejudice out on me!? I'm only just a dhampir, God dammit!"

"Because the thought of a human becoming a half-vampire makes me sick!" Trent shouted. "I told you not to go anywhere near that school but you didn't listen! None of this would've happened if you didn't turn that girl into another retarded halfbreed like you!"

That was the last straw. Jaden formed a fist and punched Creed across the jaw but he didn't stop there. He grabbed his boss by the coat and punched him some more in the face. Trent's face was busted wide open from the force of Jaden's punches. It took a few agents to restrain him from further beating on Creed. Jaden yelled as he delivered a few kicks to the fallen general. The agents pulled him back as Jaden struggled.

"Calm down!" One of the agents shouted.

The agents released Jaden as he stood there with rage. He stormed off as a bloodied Trent Creed pulled himself up.

"You bastard! I'm gonna kill you!" Creed screamed. "You hear me!? I will crucify you! You'll pay for attacking me like that! You hear me, halfbreed!? You hear me!?"

Trent's words echoed throughout the hallway toward the garage. Jaden walked to the medical bay to check on Alexis. One of the doctors told him Alexis was in the emergency room and that Dr. Jenkins and his fellow doctors were trying to save her. Jaden sat in the waiting room for what it seemed like for hours. Finally, Eustace came into the waiting room with some good news.

"Hello, Jaden," Eustace greeted. "I have some good news and some bad news."

"What's the good news?" Jaden asked.

"Alexis is gonna be fine," Eustace said.

"That's a relief," Jaden said. "What's the bad news?"

"I've done a blood test on that girl. It turns out she has the rare enzymes in her blood," Eustace said. "I'm afraid she's gonna be a half-vampire like you. So we're gonna watch her for twenty four hours."

"My god," Jaden said. "What have I done?"

"Did you take my serum this morning?" Dr. Jenkins asked.

"No, I forgot," Jaden replied sadly. "That could've been the reason why I bit Alexis. I forgot to take my medicine this morning."

"You have to be a careful when you remember to take the serum," Dr. Jenkins said. "Many vampire agents who took my serum forgot and gave in to their bloodlust. I don't wanna see you be like one of those vampires."

"All right, doc," Jaden said. "I'll take the stuff from now on."

"Good to hear. I'll have to prescribe the serum to Alexis once she's awake," Dr. Jenkins said. "You can go and see her now but she needs her rest."

"Sure thing," Jaden said. "Thanks, Dr. Jenkins."

"No sweat," Eustace said.

Jaden entered the medical bay to see Alexis. When Jaden arrived in Alexis' room, he saw her sleeping soundly. Alexis was still a little pale but she had an blood-filled iv attached to her arm. Jaden felt so bad for what he did to Alexis but as long as she gets the best of care from the Darkwatch doctors, she'll pull through. He grabbed her hand and held it tight, letting her know that he is here by her side.

(Domino City)

Titan hid out in a darkened apartment to get away from the morning sun and recover from his wounds. He attacked an elderly couple living there and killed them by sucking their blood dry. Titan sat down as he heard a voice saying, "Hello, Titan."

Titan quickly sat up to see Amnael sitting on the couch.

"Amnael, what are you doing here?" Titan asked.

"I've been watching you," Amnael said. "I heard you were going to destroy Jaden Yuki."

"Yeah, so?" Titan asked.

"I've intently told you not to kill him," Amnael said as he got up very fast and grabbed Titan by the throat. "My blood runs through his veins. I told you to have Atticus killed to lure that boy to you but you failed in that task just like you failed in listening to me."

"Why do you want that kid alive?" Titan choked out.

"He is very special to me, that's why," Amnael said vaguely. "I've sensed he bit that girl, Alexis Rhodes. A rather odd twist but I can use that to my advantage. Titan, I have a new job for you."

"What is it?" Titan asked as Amnael released him.

"I want you to kidnap Alexis," Amnael said. "Kidnap her and Jaden will come her rescue. Think you can do that for me?"

"I'll try," Titan said.

"Don't try, just do," Amnael said. "This is your last chance; if you fail me again, I'll send you back to the Shadow Realm where you belong. Right now, I want you to stay here until sundown. Unlike me, you don't get along with the sun at all."

Amnael left the apartment via teleportation and left Titan alone. Titan sat back on his chair and thought about what Amnael said. This was be his last chance to bring Jaden to Amnael or else it's back to the Shadow Realm. He reclined back on the chair and went to sleep, waiting for the moon to rise over the dark sky.

Author's note: I want to clear the air about the language controversy. I know some of you who read my story felt a little uncomfortable about the way I've written this story but I rated this story M for mature for a reason. I'm sure there may have been M-rated stories without the foul language but the bad language has been a staple in M-rated fanfiction for many years. If you write a story like this, there's gonna be bad language abound. I've been writing M-rated stories for a long time and I have no intention of stopping it. If you feel uncomfortable about it then don't read but for those of you who have sticked with me, I thank you for that. Jaden has bitten Alexis and now she's a dhampir thanks to him. What kind of role will she play in Jaden's quest to save his soul from damnation? And why did Amnael choose Jaden for whatever reason? All these questions will be answered in future chapters, my fellow wolves and vampire fans. I'll take my leave for now and enjoy the fourth chapter, my fellow wolves and vampire fans.
