Chapter 2

The two boys ran back to camp. Eventually they stopped to walk when they came close to their site. Ryou kept giving backward glances to Yugi, who seemed to be in very deep thought. His eyes were glazed over and he looked dazed. The white haired boy sighed and looked forward.

'What in the world happened!? Yugi seemed completely out of it! And what was the place he was looking into… Damn! Something weird is going on here…' Ryou just wished he could have known what had happened to make Yugi freak out like this. Yugi on the other hand, was scared half to death.

'I-I don't know what h-happened…for one second...I couldn't control m-my body.' Yugi starred at the ground still, not even giving a glance where he was going. 'Something was pulling me down there…b-but what.' Yugi thought.

"I'm scared…" Ryou turned to him.

"What was that Yugi?" Yugi looked up at him

"Huh…w-what are you talking about…?" Ryou starred at him.

"You said, and I quote, 'I'm scared'". Yugi's eyes widened.

"I-I said that out loud…ano…umm…sorry, just something random is all." Ryou shrugged and turned around. Confused dearly from Yugi.

'That was no random saying…I hope Yugi's going to be all right…' Soon enough they both made it to camp. The two teens walked slowly to Sugoroku's tent and walked inside. Sugoroku was sitting there and greeted his grandson and his friend.

"Well, there you boys are. Have fun looking around?" Ryou smiled at Sugoroku.

"Were fine grandpa, just tiered and I think I'm going to go to bed. 'Night." Ryou waved and walked to his and Yugi's tent. Sugoroku turned to Yugi.

"What about you Yugi, are you going to bed also?" Sugoroku asked his grandson. Yugi turned to him and shrugged. Sugorku's smiled faltered when he looked at Yugi's eyes.

"Yugi…what's wrong? Is everything alright." Yugi in return half nodded and turned to the exit of his grandfather's tent.

"I decided to go to bed," he said un-expressionlessly. Sugoroku nodded slightly as his grandson walked outside.

'Odd…' he thought, 'I've never really seen Yugi so scared. I hope he's alright.'

[In Yugi's and Ryou's tent]

Ryou slid into his cot and looked over to see Yugi do the same. Ryou still was worried about Yugi, but he seemed to have gotten better.

"Goodnight Yugi." He whispered as he turned the light off.

"Ditto to you to Ryou" He heard Yugi say across the room. Ryou laid down and soon fell into a peaceful slumber, as did Yugi, but only for a little while.

[Later that night]

Ryou slowly awoke to hear trashing and cries coming from across the room. He immediately turned the light on. He looked over at Yugi. The young boy was crying and trashing around, making small wines and cries as if in pain. He was clutching his sheets as if his life depended on it. Sweat was lathering all over his body and he was breathing heavily. Ryou got out of his bed and ran over to Yugi.

"Yugi, wake up! Yugi!" Ryou shook his small friend vigorously. Yugi stayed asleep in his nightmare. Ryou stepped back as Yugi turned and almost slapped his face. It was too hard to stay near Yugi, with all his kicking going on. Ryou starred at his friend in desperateness.

"Yugi…wake up…what is wrong with you…?" Ryou whispered. Yugi's movement faltered, giving Ryou hope, but started up again right away. Yugi was breathing in deep gasps and sweating a great deal then in use for his small body. His eyes were closed tight as if in severe pain

[Yugi dream]

Yugi was running in this darkness. It was never ending. He couldn't see his own hands, feet, or even his own body. It was darkness for all eternity. The young frightened teen ran, but it got him no where. His breath started to catch in his throat and he fell to the ground gasping, and wheezing. These secure-like things in this dream really hurt young Yugi's physical body. Yugi slowly stood back up, only to be starring into the appearance of a horrifying face. It was wrinkled and vile. The…man as you might call him, had one eye missing, so his right eye socket was empty. His white long hair flared behind him in a fearsome deathly way. He was smiling devilishly, starring at Yugi in his violet scared eyes. He squeaked and tried moving back, but the previous breathing incident left him weak and vulnerable. The 'thing' smirked bringing his long bony finger to Yugi's face. Yugi whimpered and started to cry. Tears rolling down him face in fear and terror. Suddenly the monster stopped and moved away from Yugi's face. Yugi cracked an eye open to see a ball of fire and light flying toward the 'monster' above Yugi. The young violet teen covered his eyes in fright and moved out of the way, tears still streaming down his face. He felt the monster being pushed back by the ball of fire that shot out of the darkness.

He then heard footsteps coming toward him. Yugi looked up to see someone standing over him. There was a bright light behind the person so Yugi had to squint to see him. Then the man knelt down to be right in front of the small boy. Yugi squinted at him suspiciously and than felt a sensation shiver though his body. He could only see the face of the person kneeling in front of him because they were wearing a dark hood and cloak. His eyes were a deep red of a rose, and his skin was tan, in exact contrast to Yugi's pale skin. He smiled at the boy in front of him and wrapped his arms around the shivering scared youth. Yugi immediately gasped but soon fell into this dark ones embrace. He felt the darkness in this place start to feel more comforting than scary and Yugi sighed into the mans shoulder.

"Who are you…" Yugi whispered lazily as he laid in a trance within the mans arms. He heard the man chuckle and a hand running in his hair.

"You dark, and protector my hikari." Yugi slowly opened his eyes to try look up at that person who was embracing him but was to tiered to do so.

"Do not worry little one, the evil has passed, you are safe now with me…" Yugi couldn't help but smile lightly at that comment from this person.

"Thank…you…" Yugi slowly whispered as he feel into a deep sleep in this strangers arms.

[Yugi's dream end]

Yugi awoke to the bright sunlight and turned over to see Ryou already up and about.

"Hay Ryou, why are you up so early?" Yugi asked lazily, rubbing his eyes. Ryou whipped around to look at him.

"Oh god Yugi, your finally awake, I thought you would never wake up." Ryou said relived. Yugi sat up and jumped onto the ground, only to feel his legs give way on him. He grabbed the dresser, shocked. Ryou walked over to him.

"Yugi are you ok?" Ryou asked as he helped Yugi to his feet. Yugi nodded, confused how that dream could affect his physical body.

"I'm fine Ryou, don't worry about it. Let's get ready to go ok?" Ryou nodded and turned to get dressed. Yugi on the other hand sat down on his bed and sighed silently.

'Wow, that dream was so real…but that…'thing', damn what the hell was that! Then that other guy…he seemed so majestic and kind. So real too, like I could actually feel him against me. Well, I wish…that maybe, he is real…I hope.'
