Yuri: Hi guys! I just wanted people on Mediaminer.org to know that I apologize for taking longer to update my stories than on Fanfiction.net. Personally, fanfiction.net is a lot more organized and there are like 20 times more people on that site. (For example, on this story I have 139 reviews on fanfiction.net) Anyways I'm sorry again, I'll try to update them at the exact same time. I added my homepage here so if you click on my name and then the link, you can see what my homepage looks like on ff. And if you like it and want an account there, even better! See you guys next chapter!
…The Bonds That Tie Us…
“Ryou would you stop bloody giggling! You're so damn happy all the time!” Bakura shouted in annoyance at the youth beside him as they continued their evening stroll through the park that Ryou had insisted on taking.
“I can't help it Bakura,” Ryou said with a bright smile.
“Well try cause it's driving me nuts!” Bakura snapped back and Ryou only smiled at the taller teen more.
Bakura struggled to ignore the foreign emotions that were coursing throughout his body every time Ryou smiled at him; for him. “Whoa, where do you think you're going?” Bakura said gripping Ryou by the back of his shirt when the chocolate-eyed boy began to separate himself from his darker companion.
“I thought I heard something,” Ryou explained and Bakura hesitantly let go of his shirt.
“No your not, you stay put. I can't have you wandering off where I can't see you,” Bakura said as he continued to walk through the park while faintly noticing the way the moon illuminated Ryou's grace and beauty. Over the last few days, Bakura was becoming very protective over the younger teen. Ryou was just so damn naïve and innocent that Bakura felt that it was his responsibility to shield him against the true ugly nature of the world and its inhabitants.
And as much as Bakura hated to admit it, he was beginning to like him…maybe a little too much. Bakura no longer wanted to claim Ryou in the same way that he did when he first laid eyes on the petite teen. He still wanted him but…in a different way. In the past, Bakura had only used other people for his entertainment and after he got bored, which didn't take too long, he would push them to the curve. But Ryou…he was special.
Yes. He wanted to keep this one.
He actually enjoyed being in Ryou's company. Ryou made him feel alive. He made him feel…happy. That was another thing that he would never admit to though.
However, there was something off about Ryou. Bakura just couldn't put his finger on it yet.
Soon enough, the two white-haired youths had found themselves on the sidewalk across from a very large restaurant. In an instant, Ryou turned to Bakura with wide eyes and said pleadingly as he stuck out his bottom lip: “'Kura, please can we go eat! Please! It looks so nice in there.”
Bakura groaned in slight annoyance. “What did I tell you about calling me that in public!? Do you have a death wish?!”
Ryou giggled and shook his head but nevertheless kept on his sad face. After a few moments of Bakura staring into those brown orbs that belonged to the boy who without a doubt captured his shallow heart, he sighed in frustration. “Alright! We'll go but I swear if you ever use that face on me again, you will regret it!”
Ryou nodded happily before walking across the street with Bakura following him close behind. Ryou smiled as he looked at the other out of the corner of his eyes. `You really do care Bakura,' Ryou thought, a warm feeling filling his immortal body.
At first, Ryou was just interested in seeing if he could make Bakura like him. He never, in a million years, thought that he would fall for the harsh teen so quickly and so deeply. But that was just another thing that he couldn't help. Bakura intrigued him, protected him, talked to him, and listened to him. Even though Bakura was a little outspoken and crude sometimes, Ryou still couldn't prevent himself from falling in love with him.
He only hoped that the feeling that Bakura felt for him was more than just close friends. He wanted more than that. So much more…
“Marik, where are we going?” Malik whined as he sat on the back of the black motorcycle.
“I told you, we're going out to eat! I can't stand being stuck up in the house all day! Besides, Joshua is beginning to think that I'm losing my mind because every time he comes in, I'm talking to you,” Marik said hoping on the bike as well. “Hold on tight,” Marik said putting his helmet on.
“Is that supposed to be a joke?” Malik spat with narrowed eyes.
“I forgot. Well, just hold on to my jacket then. You just can't touch other people right?” Marik said even though it really wasn't a question, more like a statement.
“Yeah,” Malik answered anyways as he gripped on to the back of Marik's jacket. They soon took off and, for a while, no words were exchanged between them. They were both too involved in their thoughts. Malik was currently cursing himself for becoming so saddened just because he couldn't hold on to Marik's waist. Shit, he was afraid this was going to happen. He was staying too long with Marik and now he was becoming attached to the taller Egyptian.
Malik sighed as he lightly hovered his cheek over Marik's back, thinking about how badly he wished that he could rest his face on the other teen's skin. Usually Malik would meet someone that could see him every century and mess around with them like he had first done to Marik. However, the difference was that Malik would usually be long gone by now for fear of becoming too attached. But…the thought of leaving Marik, not only scared him but made him sick.
Malik settled for glaring at the teen in front of him. Damn Marik!
“I despise you,” Malik muttered spitefully.
“Figures,” Marik responded indifferently even though inside that comment ripped through his heart like a knife. Marik had to admit that after his first initial shock of Malik, he had found the boy irritating, especially since Malik seemed to get amusement from his misfortunate's. However, there was just something about the tan ghost that captivated him.
Before he had met Malik, Marik had been alone. True, he had great friends, he was rich, and all that good stuff but there was always something missing. He had found that missing part in Malik. But he knew that Malik would never find that missing part in him…
“Yugi! I'm so happy that you're here! Kaiba's trying to kill me!” Jou said rushing up to the table with the brunet in close pursuit. Yami instantly stood to his feet and got in between the two taller teens.
“I'm going to kill you, I swear it!” Kaiba shouted, causing a few glances to go his way.
“Kaiba, this is neither the place nor the time,” Yami said, moving his head in the direction where everyone was looking at them. The brunet looked around and then reluctantly nodded his head. “Fine.”
Yami sighed in relief and turned to face the blonde that was currently talking worriedly with Yugi. It must be one of Yugi's friends.
“There's something different about you Yugi,”
Yugi nodded happily. “I know, I'm…” the amethyst-eyed boy turned his eyes to see Yami and Kaiba staring at him. “Um, I'll tell you later.”
Jou understood that Yugi wanted to talk in private and took a seat across from his smaller friend. Then Yami turned to Kaiba and said: “Let's eat; I'm sure you're hungry.”
The brunet rubbed his temples but agreed nonetheless before taking a seat beside Jou who was scooting over from the infuriated teen as much as he could without making it obvious.
“Room for four,” someone beside the table said and everyone looked up to see Marik, Malik, Bakura, and Ryou.
“What are you all doing here?” Yami inquired; surprised that everyone had chosen the same place to dine out.
“Same thing that you're doing here,” Marik said as he connected a table to the other four boys. A few minutes prior, Malik and Marik had met up with Ryou and Bakura outside. To Ryou and Malik's utter shock, Bakura and Marik could see the other and it was now apparent that their bonds with the older teens were very strong. Stronger than they thought…
“This is Yugi?” Marik said looking at the boy next to the window and Yami nodded proudly.
“Yes it is.”
After everyone introduced each other, Yami excused himself to the bathroom. Yugi smiled when he realized that Jou, Ryou, and Malik were staring at him with gleeful grins and bright eyes. They probably figured out why he seemed so different.
Soon enough, Yami was returning from the bathroom but, in the next moment, Yugi wished that Yami had never left in the first place. Ryou was currently standing beside his seat and was telling Bakura that he was just running to the bathroom real quick.
Yugi closed his eyes in fear when Yami tripped over someone's coat on the floor and went flying towards Ryou. The gasps that went around the table proved to Yugi that his silent prayers were not being answered and slowly, fearing the worst, opened his eyes. What he saw made his heart drop into his stomach. There was Yami, on the floor, beside Ryou. By the looks on everyone's face, Yami had gone right through Ryou and had landed on the ground.
Ryou, himself, looked like he was about to die. Luckily, for them, no one else in the restaurant had seen the little incident. However, Bakura had seen it and was now glaring furiously at Ryou. Yugi could tell that Ryou wanted to run…but his legs were probably glued to the floor. He had to think of something. He needed to get everyone's eyes off of Ryou's trembling body.
“Oh my god, look at that distraction!” Yugi shouted, pointing to something in the far corner of the room.
“Where?” Jou said as he quickly snapped his head around and looked off in the direction that Yugi was pointing. However, the blonde was the only person who fell for it as everyone else kept their gaze on the panic-stricken Ryou.
It was about to get very ugly…
