Kaiba opened the blinds slightly, letting in a thin stream of yellow sunlight. The faint, irregular beeping was beginning to get on his nerves. The hospital room was becoming more and more like an office every day of the four that he spent there; he had even set up a desk. He spent the good part of these days drafting the contract that would seal his deal with KII. The only kink in the plan was that she would have to wake up to sign it…
“Shut the blinds, would you? Not all of us are morning people,” moaned an unexpected voice.
“Get to see you're alive,” Kaiba responded dryly, ignoring her request. “Here,” he said, pulling the rolling table over her bed as her gnarled hands tossed the oxygen tubes out of the way. Then, in one fast motion, tore the IV out of her hand. It had become deflated and bruised because of it, giving the indication that she was much older than she was, if you only saw her hands.
“Sign,” he demanded.
“Cigarette,” retorted Kikas. Automatically, he dug into his pocket and produced a pack and a lighter. She lit up, against hospital rules, took a deep drag, and pretended to give a look over the document.
She sank down into the bed. “I'm too tired,” she yawned, closing her eyes.
“I know how you work, woman. Sign.” She opened one brown eye crossly. Then, she gently ground the cigarette into the document. It smoldered. So did Kaiba.
“My terms,” said Kikas frankly, sinking triumphantly into the bed.
“Fine!” barked Kaiba, storming out and slamming the door behind him. He gave orders to the Kaiba Corp security guards that were watching over the room to not let her out. Stupid bitch. But how did I know she would do that?
One of the guards made some petty excuse to the other and slipped away from his duty. The other ducked inside the room, removing his cap.
“Kaiba what do you-”
“Hello Rye. Miss me?”
Her eyes went as round as saucers. “Tyas don't-” His big, tanned hands slipped easily around her already bruised neck.

Damn. Forgot my briefcase, thought Kaiba irritably. Three years since Mokuba left to travel the world, and he still found himself forgetting to pick it up. I lose more money in briefcases than in stock-
He opened the door to find Lilly and the stranger. “Hey!” shouted Kaiba, finding himself reverting to such improper speech more and more lately. The Puerto Rican with the scar on his face turned, a natural reaction.
And Kaiba decked him. For a big guy, this Tyas sure was nimble. He jumped right back on his feet and slammed through the heavy wooden door of the room, still wearing the security guard uniform. Glass and wood splinters went everywhere.
“Are you okay?” asked Kaiba, genuinely concerned for her. Well, there's a first for everything.
She nodded her head weakly, unable to make a sound. As she collapsed back into the bed, there were giant red handprints around her neck. And Kaiba noticed something that he had never cared about before- the long, thin scar that ran down the right side of her face was identical to Fullam's…

“You're coming with me.”
“Why?”
“Did I give you a choice in the matter?” he said crossly, wheeling her in the wheelchair out a side entrance of the hospital. They were hoping to get out undetected. The media and the tabloids had made such a big fuss over the two attacks that they had been banned from the hospital, and now they were camping outside Domino General, along with the fangirls mourning the time that Kaiba was spending with the American.
“I could walk, you know.”
“Not a chance. Standard hospital procedure.” And it's fun to be in control.
“I'll be returning to America on the next flight out.”
“Once again, you have no say in the matter. You signed the damn papers. You're stuck with me.”
“I think I'd rather be stuck with Tyas Fullam,” she retorted.
“Keep it up and you'll get your wish,” he said. She sulked all the way to the Kaiba mansion, where a series of rooms next to Kaiba's had been prepared for her. And she sulked all day in her room, locking herself in. Or at least he thought she was sulking…

Lilly lifted a large Cyprus box out of her suitcase. Then she opened it carefully. Inside was a solid gold box, painted to resemble an Egyptian sarcophagus. The lock was a puzzle- she completed it from memory.
Then she picked up her cellphone. It rang twice and was picked up. “Domo? Hey, It's Ryca. I have a favor to ask of you. Someone took something that belonged to me, and I need the tools to get it back.” The person on the other end quickly told her something quietly. “Alright Domo. Mail it to the Kaiba Mansion. Yeah, the Kaiba mansion. Care of Lilly Kikas.”
