A/n- I'll get straight to the story this time.
Journey to the Feudal Times
Yusuke-tachi (meaning Yusuke and everyone with him) stepped out of the swirling portal. Kuwabara looked dazed and had a goofy grin on his face.
"Okay…admit it that was kind of cool!" (I do not own that line)
"Baka ningen."
"You know what?! I'm getting sick and tired of your attitude you little bastard! Maybe I'll just kick your ass and shut you up once and for all."
"Hn. I would not waste my time on the weakest member of our little team."
Shizuru wearily lit up another cigarette. "Kazuma, do everyone a favor and quit making yourself sound stupid." Yusuke chortled out loud and Kuwabara flushed, but obeyed his older sister.
The group had teleported to a large clearing surrounded by ancient trees. The only ones who did not inspect the scenery with awe were Genkai, Hiei, and Kurama, who had been alive during this time and was no stranger to ancient forests such as these.
Botan hopped on her ore, sped away, and returned a moment later.
"There's a village not even half a mile east."
Upon reaching it, they were surprised to find a swarm of feudal townsfolk had gathered around them.
Some of them yelled "Kaede-sama!" Others were too busy marveling at their strange clothing. Still others were too busy drooling over Kurama and Hiei to be bothered with anything else.
However, they were all reacting in ways the tantei wouldn't have suspected; other than the drooling over Hiei and Kurama part. (Kurama: Thanks a lot -_- Me: excuse me for trying to make it sound more realistic!)
Suddenly, an old woman hobbled forth. Her skin was nearly transparent and her hair was grey with age. She wore a black patch over her right eye, and a white haori with red hakamas.
She was a 70-year-old priestess, and considering that fact, it was a miracle she was still alive, much less walking about.
"Who are you grandma?" Yusuke asked bluntly, not bothering to show even this old woman any manners.
Instead of appearing outraged, the old miko's eyes began to tear. Yusuke quickly dropped the tough-guy charade.
"Hey, lady, I didn't mean it…"
She tried to collect herself. "It's not that. Ye just remind me of someone I used to know." She quickly regained her composure. "I am Kaede, the priestess of this village. Are ye from Kagome's time?"
A silence fell over the group.
"How did you know we weren't from this time?" Genkai asked what they all were thinking.
"About ten years ago, I met a young girl dressed in garments every bit as strange as yours. She came from a time about 500 years in the future through a time portal in a well on her family's property." The story sounded ridiculous, but with the reikai tantei, they supposed anything was possible.
A few more minutes passed and the only people really talking were Yusuke, Genkai, Kurama, Kaede, and Kuwabara would jump in every now and then to ask a question about something they had already finished discussing.
Shizuru decided to take a walk and asked Yukina and Botan if they wanted to join her.
Yukina refused politely and began conversing with Botan. Hiei, of course, would stay anywhere Yukina stayed to keep Kuwabara from hitting on her. (What a good older brother! ^_^)
Shizuru stepped out of Kaede's hut, where they had gone to talk, and breathed in the fresh air.
With all the crazy things going on, cigarettes were the only thing to keep her nerves under control. But the peace of feudal Japan, not to mention the absence of filthy air and constant noise, made her feel much calmer. For once, she did not feel the need to light up.
She began to wander into the forest until she found a comfortable spot under a large tree. She sat and simply enjoyed the wildlife and serenity of her surroundings.
~~Sesshomaru's point of View~~
A strange but intoxicating scent reached Sesshomaru's nose. It was not of this world, and the closest thing he had ever smelled was the scent of Inuyasha's woman Kagome.
It was that of fresh, clear water and irises. The strange thing about it though, was that interlaced with the stronger part of the scent was a hint of smoke.
Truly curious, he leapt into the tree and began to travel from branch to branch towards the smell. He soon happened upon a puzzling sight.
There was a young woman sitting leaned up against the tree. She was all alone, but he felt no fear from her, only peace and serenity rolling off her aura in waves.
Her garment was strange. He was amused to realize that her haori clung to her very outlines, and her foreign lower body clothing was made of some rough, blue material.
Even Kagome's clothes hadn't been that form-fitting. He surprised himself by admitting that this girl had a figure to show it off with.
Sesshomaru had never seen hair her color before, not even on demons. It was a light, sandy-brown color and it hung long, free, and untied down her back. Her eyes were almost gold-colored only more brown and earthy.
The most unique thing though was the energy radiating on her. It wasn't as strong as his, nor even his brother's, but it wasn't demonic. The only other energy he had ever felt was Rin and Kagome's miko energy, but it wasn't that either.
"Will you come down here, or are you just going to stare at me all night?"
Sesshomaru almost smirked. So, the woman had known he was there the whole time, had she? At the same time, he felt slightly annoyed with himself for watching a ningen girl even for an instant. He must be going soft.
Sesshomaru landed gracefully on the forest floor in front of her in one silent swoop. She didn't look at him in fear, but a gentle admiration that bothered him greatly. None of it showed in his face of course, but he felt strangely open to this girl.
Her clear brown eyes almost looked inside him, but he didn't back down. He was curious as to what she would see when she looked into him. He was amazed to hear himself speak.
"Who are you, and what is your strange aura?" Her serious face narrowed ever-so-slightly but then she relaxed which once again, put him on edge. Why wouldn't she be afraid?!
"My name is Shizuru, and I guess what you sensed was my spirit energy." Her voice was low for a female, and so mellow. It was a wonderfully soft note on his sensitive dog-like ears.
"I am Sesshomaru." He wasn't sure why he had just given her his name. She hadn't even asked. But his self-disgust was whisked away under her small smile, and being a demon, he could faintly hear the beat of her heart speed up inside her…

A/n- Hiei/Raven and Sesshomaru/Shizuru are the two pairings we are sure about right now. I have randomly decided that, since I've already begun doing it, I will tell you of the pairings after I introduce them.
If you couldn't see the sparks between them, then I have once again failed as a writer. I want to go ahead and start taking votes now. SHOULD I OR SHOULD I NOT WRITE LEMONS FOR THIS FIC?
As always, I would like it if you would be kind and review! Flames are welcomed!
Aliya: break out the marshmallows! I feel the flames coming on!
Hiei: What are `marshmellows'?
Aliya: Marshmellows are fluffy sweet things that you can roast over a fire!
Hiei: *eats one and eyes widen* sweet clouds! *grumbles* for being weak ningens, why do you always have good food that youkai don't even know about?! First sweet snow, and now this!
Aliya: don't hate, appreciate!! ^_^
Hiei: -_- whatever…
R&R pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease!!!! ~~aliya
