[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]

A/n- Just a reminder, I HAVE disclaimed my entire fic. I did it a few chapters back and made it count for the entire fic. Please don't sue me, I'm just a po' lil white guh. (Translation: poor little white girl; technically, I'm oriental though, or at least half so--- oh who cares?!) On to the story!

Random Chapter I couldn't think of a Name For

Raven's concentration was interrupted by loud voices from the living room.

She became irritated, causing a few books to levitate off her shelves and fall to the floor. She went over and picked them up.

Passing her vanity mirror, (which she bought more because she liked it, than to really use it) she stared at her reflection.

Raven wondered why the noise was bothering her when all she was doing was trying to contact her mate.

"Stop that," she told herself firmly. "Didn't you learn anything from Malchior? Thinking about something like that!" she spat out the word `that' with hard emphasis. "Don't try to delude yourself. You're too different and too dangerous. You are meant to be alone."

After the whole spell book incident, she had promised herself to never let another near her heart. She almost scoffed at her emotions, the very weakness that had foiled her so many times.

Against her father, against Terra… and against Malchior.

She left her room, taking her sulky thoughts with her, and entered the living room. She was not surprised to find at least ten people more than what there usually were in the room.

Raven unwittingly called attention to herself by announcing the disruption of her solace.

She wasn't sure if she should be disgusted or pleased when some of the males seemed to look her over with interest. One of them caught her eye and she unconsciously shivered under the blood-red gaze.

For the third time in the past twenty minutes, drool began to stain the tower's clean floor.

The young woman who stepped out of the dark possessed very pale, ashen-grey, but smooth skin. Her eyes were a dark, almost black, purple and looked over them without much enthusiasm. Her forehead held a small red gem in the shape of a diamond and her face was framed by shocking violet hair. It reached her shoulders in the front and only reached the back of her neck in the back.

She wore a glossy black leotard that showed off her petite body. She had very well-defined curves for someone of her size. She also wore a loose chain belt around her hips and an indigo-blue cloak with a hood.

Yusuke noticed her aura was very powerful. `She could easily rank as high A class' he thought. He could also feel the intense darkness surrounding her.

`The only other person with a ki that creepy is Hiei…'

Hiei himself had to admit the onna was a beauty. He caught himself staring at her for a moment, when abruptly, her gaze fastened onto his.

Their eyes met and locked, both frozen, both unwilling to back down.

"Are you all right onii-sama?"

"Of course, imouto-chan." Yukina smiled at him, and Hiei was grateful she had pulled him out of the trance he had involuntarily fallen into.

Raven snapped out of it as well.

"Please to meet you all. A word of advice: Eat NOTHING Starfire offers you." She delivered this comment grimly and with a straight face, but Starfire, Blackfire, and Beastboy laughed anyway. Slowly, the tantei did too.

Raven swept away into the kitchen literally. Yahiko and Kenji wondered if all future women floated, or only the ones they've met.

Finally noticing the unconscious Botan, Blackfire led Yahiko and Yukina into the infirmary.

They placed her on one of the beds and tucked her underneath the clean sheets. The overhead monitor beeped out Botan's heart rate.

Yukina watched her friend sadly.

"I will be staying here," she told Yahiko. He did not try to protest, for which she was grateful. He simply repeated the request to Blackfire who shrugged and left.

"I'll stay with you." Yahiko then quickly added, "If you want company that is."

Yukina smiled, "Company might be nice."

Yahiko lazily grinned back, but inwardly, he was grimacing. He wasn't stupid. He could tell he was falling for the beautiful koorime. `Not that she feels the same way. A lovely, kind, sweet young woman like her is bound to have dozens of suitors.'

Yahiko knew he wasn't hard to look at, especially at 28, but there had to be a considerable age difference between them.

~Meanwhile~

Raven entered the living room once again; this time, levitating a tray of herbal tea. She offered some to the guests. (Yes, my stories have sunk to an all-time low. What sane, non-British person writes about people having tea?! -_-`)

Kurama, Genkai, Sesshomaru, Kenji, Blackfire, and Hiei all received a cup.

When Raven handed off a cup to Hiei, he felt something like an electric current shoot through him. He covertly looked up and saw her eyes widen just a fraction. She'd felt it too.

"Hn," he muttered. "Thank you." He said this to try and make eye contact with her, but she said nothing.

By the time they had all finished their tea, Beastboy had crushed Yusuke and Kuwabara at least five times each in various multi-player games. He was then mercilessly beaten by… Kurama.

Kurama had gotten tired watching the boys make the same mistakes over and over again.

"How the heck do you DO that?!" Beastboy yelled half in defeat, half in awe. "The only one with moves like that is Blackfire!"

Blackfire, hearing her name, got up and picked up Beastboy's controller.

"Let's see if you have what it takes to beat me, fox-boy…" Kurama's eyes widened uncharacteristically to the size of saucers.

He managed to regain his outward calm before the game started, but still played pretty badly.

He didn't answer when she accused him of letting her win. He asked as nonchalantly as he could.

"Why the sudden nickname?" she looked thoughtful a moment before she answered.

"I don't know." He face faulted, as did everyone of the tantei listening to the conversation.

"Something about you just says `fox' to me. Why?"

Kurama took a deep breath. He looked around at the members of his team. Every one of them slowly nodded. They would have to explain sooner or later.

"Because that is exactly what I am." Dead silence.

Blackfire looked shocked, but she swiftly got over it, and curiosity took over.

"I don't understand."

Kurama and the others proceeded to take their parts and explain how they were all mostly youkai, how they needed help to defeat a resurrected ancient youkai lord, and that Botan, their only ticket back home, was unconscious for who-knows-how-long.

~~An hour later~~

Starfire, Raven, Beastboy, and Blackfire digested the story for a minute before Starfire slowly spoke for them all.

"It is our job in life to protect the innocent from evil. If this is not evil, then we shall never meet it again. We pledge our lives to help you, and this Koenma of whom you spoke. Until you friend is completely rejuvenated, you must stay here with us in Titan's Tower!"

The tantei agreed after a moment of silent thought….

~to be continued~

A/n- I'm kind of in a hurry so if you could just review if you have any questions, I would be much obliged seeing as I have no time to clear things up the way I normally do.

~BYE~
