Kurama was leaning against the wall surrounding a park several blocks from the arcade. He, unlike Yusuke and Hiei, wasn't much for the punk look. He his legs were clad in semi tight worn jeans with a white shirt tucked in at the waist. Then over the white shirt he wore a red dress shirt. His arms crossed loosely over his chest as he leaned back against the wall that was warm from the sun.
“Yo,” Yusuke said as they walked up to Kurama. Both Yusuke and Hiei now wearing a pair of sunglasses. Kurama turned his bright green gaze up as his friend walked towards him.
“Hello,” Kurama replied, shrugging himself away from the wall. Yusuke took his hand out of his jean pocket.
“How long have you been here?” Yusuke asked. Kurama shrugged gracefully.
“About twenty minutes,” he said easily. Yusuke gave a nod as they started walking towards the arcade. Kurama put his hands in the jean pockets as he walked next to Yusuke, Hiei falling slightly behind.
“Kuwabara said he'd meet us there,” Yusuke spoke up after they turned a corner and waited for a chance to cross the street. Hiei mentally groaned.
“That fool's coming?” He asked, his voice cool and lacking emotion, but Kurama and Yusuke had known Hiei long enough to know that he didn't like Kuwabara. Yusuke walked across the street, slipping his hands into his vest pockets.
“Yeah, I told him he could join. Besides, he'd be there anyways,” Yusuke replied. Hiei glared at the back of Yusuke's head as Kurama glanced over his shoulder, summoning up a small smile.
“He isn't that bad Hiei,” Kurama replied.
“Hn.” Hiei said, looking across the street in an annoyed way to avoid the gaze from the red-haired teenager.
“Yeah,” Yusuke said and started laughing, “You just don't like him because he-”
“Don't even say it,” Hiei growled shooting a death glare at the brown eyed teen. Yusuke put his hands behind his head and seemed to lean back as he walked.
“Alright, alright. But we all know that's why,” he said. Hiei turned his attention back to the people hustling across the street. Kurama and Yusuke started up a conversation about something Hiei wasn't really aware of.
The black haired teen was just watching the people who were walking along the side-walk across the street. His attention wasn't really on them, and he almost over looked the one person that seemed to be looking back. For that split second time seemed to stop. Hiei's red eyes lost that slightly glazed over look and came into focus, his eyes traveled to the face that seemed shadowed, yet was all too clear.
Eyes as red as his own bore beyond Hiei's body and sent an icy chill straight to his heart. In slow motion he felt his eyes widen and it seemed like he was slipping out of the sunny, busy morning and into something dark and black. It engulfed him like hell should engulf your soul. Except unlike the supposed `Flames of hell' this feeling was frozen and dark. His heart sped up to the point that it was thudding almost painfully in his chest and he couldn't breathe. The teen felt as though his lungs were filling up with the darkness around him and it was squeezing the life out of him. He simply couldn't move.
Those red eyes turned from watching to a smirk, and it jolted through Hiei's heart like someone electro shocking that ice it was encased in. The raven haired teen nearly passed out. Then suddenly the eyes were gone, they disappeared just as fast as they'd seem to have been there and Hiei was startled out of that cold, dark feeling by a horn honking right behind him. Two sets of hands grabbed his arms and started pulling him out of the center of the street. He blinked his eyes and looked at the people moving him yet didn't think he really saw them.
“What the hell are you doing!?” Yusuke shouted at him. Kurama was looking concerned as well. He blinked his eyes again, as if to clear them and see the two again. He couldn't imagine the blank, empty look in his eyes.
“I have to agree Hiei, that wasn't very intelligent,” Kurama said, concerned yet calmly. They pulled their friend over to the side walk and into the shade of a large building. Hiei looked at them blankly, like a child who's lose his way in a mall.
“What the hell is your problem!?” Yusuke yelled. Kurama grasped Yusuke's shoulder. Yusuke looked at him and blinked, Kurama shook his head.
“Look at his eyes Yusuke,” Kurama said, Yusuke turning to Hiei as he did so, “Hiei isn't understanding.”
As if to confirm what Kurama said Hiei blinked his eyes in a very confused manner. Yusuke took his hold off of Hiei's shirt and stepped back, running a hand back over his head as if to smooth back the already gelled hair. He started looking around as Kurama stepped towards Hiei.
“What the hell made him do that?” Yusuke asked.
“I'm unsure,” Kurama replied. The crimson haired teen stepped up next to Hiei and let his green eyes meet Hiei's dazed red, “Are you alright Hiei? Talk to me, tell me what happened. Try to focus on my voice.”
Hiei blinked his eyes and they started to loose the dazed look. The life and shine came back to them as Kurama started to snap him out of it. Yusuke turned around with his arms crossed, a cigarette now between his partially open lips.
“He okay?” the teen asked Kurama. Kurama looked at Yusuke over his shoulder.
“I think he's snapping out of it, he should be fine,” he replied. Yusuke nodded and turned back around.
Hiei's eyes got more lively and he blinked at Kurama. Then, as if suddenly realizing what had happened, he slid down the wall. One led bet up near his chest and the other stretched out in front of him.
“God damnit,”
