Yep…well I dunno….I read something and it kinda made me laugh while it made me want to update insanely. It was from a role-play site… “Hiei and Yusuke became increasingly intimate though they both viewed it as casual sex…”

It's not funny in that `Haha! Yusuke Hiei? No way!' way it's just…I don't know…the words `casual sex' make me smile.

Hiei felt his wrists sting as he rolled over in the bed near the window. He let out a slight gasp of surprise before he lowered himself back down to the bed, facing against the wall. He wasn't really awake yet, only partially, and it was only that kind of awake in the sense he was conscious to the fact he was rolling over. The second his head hit the pillow he started to drift back to sleep again. He struggled for a moment or two to keep his eyes open, just partially if any at all, but he lost the battle and they closed again. He reached out lightly and pulled the blanket up so it rested over his shoulder, feeling the familiar warmth of his own body heat was reassuring in a way.

He yawned slightly as he drifted back to sleep, trying to keep his mind clear of his father, which proved harder than he would have thought. The second his eyes closed he could see Yoma laughing at him, he felt the blood smear on his body at his father's touch. It was like his dad controlled everything and all he could do was lie there too tired and helpless to watch. A sinking feeling latched onto his stomach and he moved a hand to lightly touch the well toned muscle there, as if reassuring himself there wasn't a hole. The nauseous teen closed his eyes tighter in an attempt to make the image go away and it worked, for a moment. The picture of Yoma was replaced by a picture of Kurama.

The taller teenager was looking at him with a look he didn't quite understand. It wasn't any kind of look he'd seen before. Kurama seemed almost possessed by something or someone. The bright emerald of his eyes shone with a kind of gleam that twisted that feeling in Hiei's stomach. It was almost like the look his father gave him, that mix of fantasy and curiosity. He remembered the look from when he was a child, like Hiei was some beautiful sculpture and his father wanted to figure out the perfect way to break it. It made him feel ashamed inside and when he was younger he used to cry. If nothing else that look scared him, terrified him in a way nothing else did. Though he'd never admit it.

And now Kurama was looking at him like that. He could almost see the ideas floating behind those green eyes the same way they had floated behind his father's. The red-head started towards Hiei, his hands in his pockets and that smooth glide in his step. Weather the look or the way Kurama moved, Hiei found he was paralyzed, sure he'd stopped breathing. Under the covers his form shook, like someone whose trying so desperately to move but all that happens is the convulsions of the muscles. It made him feel not only trapped but like his arms and legs weighed tons.

Kurama continued to glide forward and it seemed ages before he finally reached Hiei. The stunning red of his eyes darted around frantically behind his eye lids as Kurama smiled a coy smirk that made Hiei cringe. The emerald eyed boy reached out and lightly brushed a hand down Hiei's cheek. The touch was gentle and there but Hiei could almost feel the malice and intentions behind it. Like someone might try to reassure a dog before they beat it.

He turned his head away sharply but soon that same gentle hand came sharp across his face. The sound rang in Hiei's ears as clear as if it had happened in a room without echoes. His eyes snapped open and he sat up in bed, one of his bandaged hands reaching up to touch his cheek lightly. No sting, no heat, no nothing. He'd been dreaming again.

With a light sigh he closed his eyes and rested his face in his wrapped hands, hiding it from the view of anyone that may walk in. He shook his head softly and rubbed the sleep from his eyes then removed his hand, making his vision clear. He looked over at the green numbers of the alarm clock. Eight thirty. He'd slept for nearly six hours. Six hours and he still felt completely exhausted, but sleep wouldn't come unless he got up and did something.

He'd settle for getting something to eat.

Quietly he pushed the warm blankets off his legs and swung them over the side of the bed. He stood up carefully and an ache shoot up his legs making them groan in annoyance. He ignored it, however, he wasn't about to yell for Yusuke to come help him. He crossed the wooden floor to the door and pulled it open quietly, looking out into the living room before he decided on venturing out.

Two people were sitting on the couch, one black head of hair and one orange. Yusuke was slouched low on the couch with his feet up on the coffee table watching some stupid game-show. Kuwabara leaned on one arm of the couch with his hand under his jaw, muttering things under his breath to which Yusuke snickered. The kitchen light was on as well as the two table-side lamps but the over head light was off.

Hiei quietly opened the door and walked through the living room, he was little over halfway there when something caught his ear.

“How'd ya think he's doing?” Kuwabara asked, his tone serious, but not as serious as it had been a few hours ago.

“Kurama?” Yusuke questioned back.

“No, the shrimp,” Kuwabara replied. Hiei's hand clenched to a fist at the nickname but the second a throbbing moved up his arm he had to fight to not gasp.
Yusuke shrugged, “I don't know. He's been sleeping pretty much since we got him home. Hasn't woken up from any nightmares or anything. Then again maybe he has, you know Hiei, he's not the type to be scared and tell.”

“Yeah, I guess you're right,” Kuwabara said.

Yusuke glanced over at Kuwabara and straightened up a bit on the couch. Hiei didn't even breathe until the brown eyed boy spoke again, “Why Kuwabara?”

“I dunno,” the orange head replied with a shrug, “Just worried I guess. I saw Kurama on the way back up here and he seemed kind of annoyed. Thought he might have had a fight with Hiei or somethin'.”

“No,” Yusuke said after a few minutes pause, “I got mad at him so he stormed out. He still thinks I was making deals with Yoma behind Hiei's back.”

Hiei blinked as he remembered that note he'd found on the table at Kurama's. He'd forgotten about it when his dad found him and was too tired and in too much pain to care when his friends had found him. Somehow he still found himself to tired to really be angry at Yusuke. At least too tired to want to get into an argument like that right now. Food and back to bed, that was all he wanted.

“Man, what a prick. He's got no right to say something like that, you knew Hiei before he did,” Kuwabara said.

“Let's not get into this Kuwabara, we might end up yelling and I don't want to wake up Hiei,” Yusuke replied and sank back low on the couch. Hiei stared at the two of them for a moment before he quietly continued his way to the kitchen.

Even with the light making his shadow, Kuwabara and Yusuke didn't notice he'd snuck into the kitchen. That, or they did notice and just didn't care. Hiei walked over to the freezer and pulled the door open quietly. Looking through it he found a pint of sweet snow in one of the shelves on the door and took that. Carefully closing the door he walked over to the counter and pulled open the drawer and took out a spoon, then gently eased it closed again. He wasn't entirely sure why he didn't want the guys to know he was there, but he did and he was going with it. He softly padded his way back to the bedroom and closed the door quietly behind him.

The red eyed teen carefully peeled the lid off the sweet snow container as he crossed the cold wood floor and sat back in bed. He put it on the bedside table as he moved his legs back into bed and pulled the blanket up over them, leaning back against the wall. He slowly started eating the chocolate frozen treat, relaxing more and more as he did so. Something about sweet snow was a comfort food for him, and he was sure it always would be.

He looked around the room while he ate, the sunlight outside was disappearing but the street lamp kept the room partially lit up. He confined in that while he started taking larger and larger spoonfuls of the ice cream. Pausing only when he thought he felt an oncoming brain freeze or slipped into a thought.

After about a half an hour the container was empty and sitting on the bedside table and Hiei was sitting with his arms up on the window sill and his head resting on them. The cooling summer's air rustled his bangs and cooled off his forehead; making him feel relaxed and sleepy again. Before he realized it he had fallen asleep with his head resting on the window sill.
