Chapter 5: Training Battle 2 - Sai vs. Hiei

“Let the next match begin!” shouted Genkai.

“So, Hiei,” said Sai, “if I'm not mistaken that third eye, that Jagan of yours allows you to control the Darkness Flame. Is that not correct?”

“Yes, that's true. Don't tell me you wish to experience it like the last fool that asked for it. If I remember right, he ended up in a thousand burning pieces with his blood splattered everywhere.”

“I'm not asking for it. Just be sure to use it if you feel you must” Sai said as he drew his sword. With that, he disappeared. Hiei pulled out his sword and looked around wondering where Sai was. A glint appeared in the sunlight above Hiei's head and he was skewered from the top of his head down through the back of his neck. Sai's blade then fell as what seemed to be Hiei disintegrated into nothing. It was just an after-image.

Hiei then attempted to slice Sai in half. Sai casually blocked it with his blade. They dashed around clashing swords in this manner until Hiei shouted “It's clear neither of us is going to get anywhere trying to slice each other apart. What do you say we try to fight in a different manner.” Hiei ripped off his headband exposing the Jagan eye on his forehead.

Sai smiled and dropped his blade, “Yeah, sounds good to me.”

They rushed each other. Hiei's fists engulfed with the Mortal Flame. Sai dodging each punch said “Nice, but the Mortal Flame isn't going to be enough.”

Sai flipped in order to dodge another punch and kicked Hiei up into the air. He shouted out “If you like playing with fire, why don't you try this. Demon Fire Storm!” A dark red flame shot from Sai's right arm. It ran straight toward Hiei but exploded right before it reached him.

“Nice shot, but your flame couldn't reach me!” yelled Hiei smugly.

“Maybe. Or maybe it's just not done yet.” yelled Sai.

Hiei looked behind him and saw a least a hundred more of those dark red flames were falling from the sky coming towards him. “Not much time. Guess there's only one option.” Hiei thought to himself. “Dragon of the Darkness Flame!” Hiei shouted.

The dragon erupted from Hiei's right arm blowing away all of the Demon Fire flames that Sai had shot at him. The dragon kept going in the sky and eventually burnt out. As Hiei tumbled toward the ground, he flipped and caught himself with his left hand. He landed on his feet facing Sai.
“I didn't think there was another demon who could use flame and be as fast as me.” Hiei stated.

“Actually, although I am just as fast as you, I can't use flame.” Sai responded. “I produce my demon energy in a way that resembles flame. It's a nice trick when trying to confuse an enemy or when trying to get someone out of the way. It even can melt things or burn things like flame depending on how much I focus on the blast.”

“Well then, it was able to weaken my dragon. But I wonder can you face my real power?” Hiei's skin turned green and his shirt burned off. Many eyes appeared on his body and the dragon tattoo on his right arm was moving towards his hand. “Let's test what you can really do. Black Dragon Wave!”

Four black dragons spewed from Hiei's right arm. All moving in one way or another towards Sai.

“Well, this should be interesting. I wonder if this will work?” Sai said calmly. Sai rushed from where the dragons were headed. “All right. I'll use all of my power in this blast. Demon Fire Inferno!” The dark red flame burst from Sai's hand, all of it going towards Hiei and the dragons. Hiei had made the dragons change course and come between him and Sai. The four dragons and the blast of energy connected in an eruption of demonic power and flame. Everything was covered in darkness for what seemed like hours. When everyone could see again, they saw Sai and Hiei squaring off and then both collapsing to the ground.

Yusuke, with a worried look on his face, shouted “Geesh! I can't believe Hiei went down like that!” He glanced at Gavin and his followers and thought “Gavin's group is really strong. It looks like Hiei and Sai are completely even. And the only reason Kuwabara won is because of the Dimension Sword. Plus when I fought Gavin, we couldn't even hit each other. It makes me wonder what that girl can do.”

Genkai walked to the center of the fighting area and said “Both Hiei and Sai are down for the count. Somebody drag their lazy asses out of here so the next fighters can start. Whenever you are ready, come to the center area. The next fighters are Kurama and Hanako.”

Kurama was wondering the same thing Yusuke was about Gavin's group. He knew he would have to think through all his moves to win this fight. If she was as tough as the rest of them, then he knew this match would not end well …..

Mazaku7 is back once more! As you can all plainly see, Sai was able to fight against Hiei evenly up to the point where both collapsed from exhaustion. Next up to bat is the female member of Gavin's group, Hanako, against everyone's favorited red-haired tactician, Kurama. I hope you're ready for what I have in store for what she can do. And no, to answer what you're thinking, not all of Gavin's group is going to have similar moves as to what Yusuke's group can do. I put a lot of thought into my characters and I thought it would just be more well-balanced if the previous two were similar to Hiei and Kuwabara. Hanako and Gavin are a totally different story. Not much of what they can do is near what Kurama and Yusuke can do. You'll see by the time I finish with Yusuke and Gavin's next match. This time it won't be interrupted like it was in Spirit World. I hope you're ready for a big bang. You'll see soon enough - later.
