Threats

" He what?" Screamed Karasu.

Gouki was holding an ice pack on his face. His chin was badly scraped.

"Yeah boss. He said that."

"Damn it! It's because of that guy he met. Bui find him I want to know where he lives. What time he gets to work and what he does. Everything! I guess a direct hit to Kurama won't do better than someone close to him. And also find where Kurama's lives. I heard something about a sick mother."

Kurama cracked open an eye. He saw no one in the room and wondered where Hiei was.

He slowly got up. As he was about step down off the bed he felt something warm. He looked down and almost screamed in surprise to find Hiei sleeping on the ground.

"What the hell?" Kurama muttered.

Hiei felt something soft against his stomach. He opened his eyes to find Kurama looking at him curiously.

"What?" Asked Hiei.

Kurama lay down on his stomach and let a hand dangle down and caress Hiei's chest.

"What are you doing down there? I don't take up that much space. Do I?"

"No but it feels good on my back" He said as he got up. Hiei stretched and his back popped.

Kurama smiled.

Hiei stood up and went to his closet. He put on a pair of blue jeans. The pant legs were too long so he had to roll them up.

"Come on I'm hungry" called Hiei as he was heading down stairs.

When Hiei opened the door he almost ran into Yukina.

"Ahhhh!! Crap you scared the shit out of me." Hiei exclaimed and closed the door only leaving it open a bit.

Kurama quickly got out of bed and looked for his clothes to change.

" Hey... You called me." She simply stated.

Hiei pondered for a bit then he remembered why. Botan had told him about Kurama looking for someone to help his mother move during weekdays.

He thought Yukina would be good, since she was a nurse.

"Oh yeah well meet me down stairs."

He rushed back in and quickly put on a shirt.

"Kurama I would like you to meet someone."

"Who?" Said Kurama as he came out of the bathroom.

"My sister."

"Why?"

"She's a nurse and she has free days during the week and she could help you out."

"Hiei I can't"

"Yes you can. I'll help you."

"And what will you want in return?"

"Just your company and anything you're willing to give me." Smirked Hiei.

"I'm serious Hiei."

"Look all I want is your friendship. I like... I enjoy being with you. Is that too much?"

"No."

"Come on. I don't trust Yukina too much in my house. She usually finds something wrong."

Both descended the stairs Yukina was looking through her backpack. She brought out some lotion.

"Yukina this is Kurama."

"Kurama this is my sister Yukina."

They both greeted each other

.

"Hiei sit here." She said and gestured for Hiei to sit in front of her.

Hiei gulped and did what he was told. Yukina pulled Hiei's shirt off and poked around his lower back. Hiei hissed in pain.

"Not again." She sighed and applied some of the cooling gel on her brother while conversing with Kurama.

"Kurama I could go and help your mother three times a week Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, three hours each day. Fifteen dollars each hour. That'd be forty-five dollars a day. That is 135 a week. What I'll do is check her blood pressure, make sure she takes her medicine, help her walk around and do some stretches so she regains her strength."

Hiei hissed as she massaged his back while undoing the accumulated knots Hiei was so tensed.

"So?" Asked Hiei

"That is good." Replied Kurama.

"I can start this week. Is that okay?" Yukina said as she pulled Hiei's shirt back down.

"Sure its perfect." Kurama said as he shook her hand.

"You. " said Yukina as she looked at Hiei.

"What did I do now?"

"You need to take care of that back of yours. You haven't' been using this." She said as she showed him the bottle of cooling gel.

"This will help your muscles relax and not be so tensed."

He took the bottle and smiled sheepishly.

"Ugh! What am I going to do with you? I'll see you later we have a lunch date next Sunday." she grabbed his chin "don't forget we go shopping again."

Hiei nodded and walked her to the door. He waved her good bye as she left.

"So who's the oldest of you two." Kurama asked amused by the way they treated each other.

"We're twins. But she came out first."

Kurama chuckled.

Kurama smiled as he made his way to school. He never thought it could it happen. He was actually happy.

He actually saw his life getting better. His smile widened as he realized it was all because of the stubborn Hiei.

He picked up the pace, wanting the day to go by fast.

Hiei for the fifth time made a damn U Turn. He couldn't lose the car that was tailing him.

"Damn." he speeded up going close to a hundred. He was glad the streets were empty. No one drove around at five in the morning.

Then he heard a shot being fired.

"Damn! What the fuck did I do?" Hiei asked as he changed lanes trying not to get hit with the bullets that were being fired.

He turned around to see if he was leaving the car behind... No luck he turned forward and he saw another car approaching him really fast. He slammed on the breaks and spinned out of control. When he stopped he was immediately pulled out and slammed down on the ground. Hiei tried to get up but he was kicked in the gut. Hiei coughed as he lost his air.

"Fuck." He breathed out.

"Pick him up." A voice commanded.

Hiei was pulled up and his back was slammed into the car. He hissed as his back ached with the blow he received.

Hiei managed to pull his arm away and was ready to punch. But his arm was grabbed and twisted behind his back. He felt the coldness of a gun next to his neck.

" Be good. And I won't blow your head away right now." He heard someone speak but he couldn't see the person. It was still dark and his face was being smashed against the side of his car. He bit his lip, calming himself, trying not cry out in pain. He felt the warm trickle of blood flow down to his neck. He knew that there were at least three people. Two were holding him. He coughed when the figure that was talking blew smoke in his face.

"I'll say this only once. And you better pay attention. Stay away from Kurama understand?"

"Piss off!" Hiei said (Shun208)

"Shut up." He heard the guy who was pinning him down toward the car say. He was then kneed in his ribs.

"Listen this is for your own good. Leave him alone and stay away from him understand? You know accidents could happen."

Hiei was about to protest when he was kneed twice by his back. He was finally released. He fell to the floor coughing. He heard the car's engine rev and screech away. He slowly got up and got into his car. He groaned as he sat down, his back was killing him. He turned on his car and drove away. He wanted to go see Kurama but then decided against it. They could hurt him. He then speeded up to arrive at work. He knew he was late already.

"Whoa shrimp what happened to you?" Asked Kuwabara as Hiei reached the site covered in dust and his lip bleeding slightly.

He ignored the baka and checked in and went to work.

At lunch he wrote two letters. One was to warn Kurama about what happened and that he should be careful. The second was for Yukina. He wanted her to move Kurama's mother somewhere away from there. He enclosed five hundred dollars and gave instructions on what to do. And to stay away. He didn't say why just that he would explain later.

He approached Kuwabara at lunch.

"Hey shrimp."

"Hey can you do me a favor?" Asked Hiei

Kuwabara was astounded he wasn't insulted. He just nodded knowing that something was up.

"Give this to Yukina and tell her I'll call later."

"Sure. Hiei if you need help-"

"I know just take care of her."

Hiei walked away and went to the office and found Botan.

"Hey Botan. I can't give you a ride today but if you see Kurama give him this."

"Sure but why?" She said as she took the envelope.

"Trust me. It's best if you did not know."

She nodded. He went back out side and went to the locker room to apply the cooling gel Yukina gave him. And to clean the scraped and cuts he gotten that morning.

"Damn why the fuck this?" Pondered Hiei as he freshened up.

Kurama was walking to the store. He was going to be early. Suddenly he was pulled back and his mouth was covered. He tried to kick but it was useless. He then saw Karasu approach him.

"Why do you have to make this so hard?" He asked as he caressed Kurama's cheek.

Kurama shuddered in disgust.

"You know a whore is always a whore, no matter what." Karasu said. He then grabbed Kurama's chin and kissed him harshly. Kurama tried to break free but he couldn't. He felt like vomiting. Karasu always gave him disgust.

"You know I know about your little boyfriend. You don't want anything happening to him or your mother do you?" He asked.

Kurama's eyes widened in shock and he quit struggling.

"That's a good boy. Now here."

Karasu had Bui release him and handed him a piece of paper.

"Gouki will pick you up. And you better say yes this time. I'll be waiting for you puppet."

They both walked away. Kurama slid down and broke down to tears

"Fucking irony.." He whispered.

Kurama got home to find Botan. He struggled to act normal but it was hard.

"Here" she handed him the envelope. He nodded and greeted his mother he told her about the news. He then went to his room and changed.

Before he left he read Hiei's letter.

Kurama,

Please do what I tell you. Don't go with that bastard. You know who I'm talking about.

Don't worry your mother is going to be moved somewhere else. She'll be safe and I'll pick you up later. Just don't go. He threatened me already but it won't work

Please don't go.

Love Hiei

Kurama dropped the letter and walk out.

He had no choice. Hiei didn't know how powerful they were.

He had no choice whatsoever. He slowly walked out and was engulfed by the dark winter night.
