Chapter Two: Does Star get to live?

 

*Youko's point of view*

"I think we will let her live," I sighed noticing the slight amount of fear in her eyes disappear, "but under one condition."

"And whats that?" Star asked calmly slightly unsure of what it will be.

"You stay out of our way for if you get in our way once I will let Kuronue kill you," I smirked watching her every move.

"Are you sure? I mean letting her run around here?" Kuronue asked skeptically.

"It isn't a big deal. I explain later," I replied coolly as I turned my back on the female.

I could tell she has been through a lot. In her eyes show many emotions pain, saddness, lost, and fear but I could it was not of me.

"Kuronue, can you tell the rest of the bat demons that they are not allowed on my land," I asked almost completely sure that he would.

"No problem, and if they ask about the girl?" Kuronue questioned.

"Tell them she is allowed to live and if they try to kill her they will have to face the consequences of entering on my territory," I stated hiding all emotions.

"Sure, Youko I will meet up with you at the usual place in a few hours," Kuronue agreed before taking off into the night.

Star let out a long sigh it was apparent she was fighting back the buliding up emotions. Stress from battle just radiated off her body. She looked like she was going to pass out any second.

"Are you okay...uh...because of what just happen...with the bat demons," I asked unsure of what to say because I am the king of thieves no one knows that I have a kind side and I rarely ever show it.

"Bat demons I can handle....the death of my entire village is another story," Star said sadly she was now watching my every move a slightly confused look on her face.

I figured that she has heard of me but it wasn't until then I understood that she heard more stories about me then most youkai. She suddenedly fell to the ground with a whimper/yelp.

"Stupid leg, you weren't supposed to give out on me," Star spoke to her leg which was amusing and I had to hold back a laugh. I lost my little battle and started laughing which earned a glare from Star.

"Well, I will see you later stay out of trouble," I said still laughing.

"Good bye," She snapped with very little heat.

As I left Star started quietly crying that made my ears droop deciding it was best that I should get to know her better before I tried comforting her so I left.

*Star's Point of View*

'I am so confused....what is with these thieves? I don't understand what they want from me. I can't believe I was so open with them.....Then again I am TOO open....I miss my family so much....I can't go back to the village so I can bury them. It is to dangerous in my condition,' I yawned before standing up.

I calmly walked to a nearbye willow tree and sat down my back against its strong trunk.

*Kuronue's point of view*

"Hey Youko!" I greeted as I landed gently on the bank of the river.

We were near his den which was just a few miles up the river.

"Hello Kuronue," he greeted looking my way.

"I saw Star's village," I stated aburtly.

"Huh?"

"It is a mess...I was shocked at the state of it. There was nothing except for dead bodies and burning homes," I answered.

"So, is the bat tribe going to obey?" Youko asked.

"I don't believe so..." I sighed.

*Flashback*

I flew through the nightsky to the bat demon tribe the place I grew up. On the way there I flew over a burning village and bodies. All the blood fill the air so thick that you could cut the air. When I arrived I was greeted by seeing bodies of bats barely alive.

"Kuronue," Sano the leader of the bat demon tribe said as he walked over to him, "The daughter of Yukio and Aurora those annoying fox demons did most of the damage to our tribe. I believe her name was Star. Seen her? I was told that she was hurt pretty badly and fled into Youko's territory."

"Yeah, I and Youko ran into her," I answered truthfully, "and no she isn't dead."

"Then may I asked why have you come?" Sano questioned.

"Youko asked me to tell you that the bat demon tribe is no longer permitted on his territory and if you come for the girl you are going to have to face the consequences," I told him looking around before asking, "Is this all that is left of our tribe?"

"Yes, now leave you are no longer permitted here Kuronue for helping Youko who allows that bitch, Star, to live," Sano growled raising his energy in warning.

"hn....whatever," was my reply to his patheic display of energy before flying off.

* End of Flashback*

"So you left the bat demon tribe?" Youko asked after I finished telling him what happened.

"Well they wanted me out so I left. It is not like I like being there anyways," I shrugged, "I am going to go fly around for a while, talk to you later."

"Bye,"

I took off into the dark night sky. It was nearing sun rise and I was getting tired. I decided to head to my favorite sleeping tree and fell asleep.
