Yu Yu Hakusho Fan Fiction ❯ The Sisters of Seasons ❯ Captured and One Big Surprise ( Chapter 12 )

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
Captured
I still don't own Yu Yu Hakusho....but I'm working on it!

"So, what now?" Haru asked, back in her human form.
"We ignore it. Kill the ones that target us and stay out of the way." Fuyu responded calmly.
"Right, I'll just wait to be the next midnight snack."
"Haru, we're human now. We can't fight for the entire town. Let the detectives do it."
She sighed. "You're right, but what about the repoters?"
"Ignore them too. We only turn into our more powerful selves when the moon is full. We stay hidden for that one night and no one will ever know."
"You know, I'll just take your word for it."

~~~~~~~~
"Vampires?! Blood-sucking vampires?!" Kuwabara was getting a little anxious over the detectives' new problem.
"Just shut up already!" Koenma yelled. "If they get ahold of either Fuyu or Haru they'll be immune to normal attacks, and that's something that I don't think you can handle. Do you understand, Yusuke?.....Yusuke?"
Yusuke sat in the corner of the room with a set of headphones on, his head bobbing to the horribly loud music. Kuwabara walked over and pulled the headphones off the teen's head.
"What was that?" Kuwabara asked.
"Just a CD Keiko bought me. Give it back." he grumbled, snatching his possesion back.
"Lemme listen." Kuwabara grabbed them again and listened to the bass and guitar at the begining of the song. "This is pretty good." The entire room went silent so it could be heard slightly. Suddenly, Kuwabara through the headphones off and took a few steps back. "It's GIRL music!"
"What's that supposed to mean?" Yusuke defended.
"That was a GIRL singing!"
"She's better than you."
"My singing is great!" Kuwabara opened his mouth to sing but was cut off.
"Spare us. We don't need to hear that thing you call a voice." Hiei said from across the room.
"You stay outta this, Shorty!"
Kurama sighed. This was going to be a long mission, whatever it was.
~~~~~~~~

The boys all sat in the living room at the Kuwabara residence when Yusuke and Kuwabara instantly got bored when the subject of their next mission was brought up and why Koenma wouldn't give them details. Yusuke grabbed the remote and turned on the television.
"It's the news..." Yusuke said with a hint of more boredom in his voice.
"Yusuke, wait." Kurama watched as the report began.

"Today, at the Kyoto Concert Hall (A/N: Is there such a thing? I don't have a clue!) 'All Hell broke loose' as one witness descibed it. Another witness says that as the strangered entered, they began a mad killing spree. Some say these murderers even had fangs and sharp claws."

"Great." Kuwabara shivered. "I hate vampires....."

~~~~~~~~
"This is insane!" Haru shouted. "I was even CHASED home today! By whom? A pack of vampires!"
There was no response from the other room that Fuyu was in when Haru had burst through the door of the hotel room in the dead of night.
"Fuyu? Hey, Fuyu! Are you even listening to me?!"
"Of course." It didn't sound very much like her sister.
"Are you sick?"
"Of course no. Why would I be feeling sick?" Haru peeked her head in to try and see a reflection in the medicine cabnet mirror in the bathroom, but it was open. "I'm feeling perfect." The tiny door slammed shut, cracking the glass in half.
"Sh-Shimatta...."
"Don't be afraid. It only hurts for a moment." Fuyu walked into the living room and stared at Haru, barring two short fangs. "And Master will have so much fun with you."
"Don't talk like that! Snap out of it!"
"Talk like what?"
"K'so!" Haru flung the front door open and dashed out with someone--she didn't know who--on her tail.
~~~~~~~~

I reached a warehouse and decided that this would have to do. I locked myself inside before Fuyu caught sight of me around the corner. I pulled a piece of paper and a pen from my pocket and began to write, cramming myself into a corner behind a stacks of crates.

Please, someone, help me.
Please, help my sister.
I have lost the power to stop her.
Goddess of Seasons, help me.
Wield your rod and save me from this nightmare.
Take me by my shoulders and shake me.
I want to wake up from this Hell.
Please, make the world stop spinning around me.
I have lost control
And can't do it by myself.
Maybe someone will hear my cry.
Dear Goddess of Seasons,
Hear my plea
Someone--anyone--help me....

"Writing when you should be running. Fool." I turned just in time to see the stack of crates falling down, just above my head.

~~~~~~~~
I was more irritated than anything with my capture. I didn't know where I was, but there was a single stained-glass window toward the high ceiling of the room. I was in what seemed to be something like a large bird cage, and it swung back and forth on its chain. This was giving me a nauseated feeling in the pit of my stomach. I wasn't Fuyu's fault. Human bodies couldn't fight the urge to kill after they were bitten, and we were both in human bodies. But why didn't she kill me then and there? Why was I brought to this place? I was horrified in the depths of my heart. Vampires were sadistic by nature. I might be tourtured for days, or bitten and turned into a slave. Well, I sure as hell wasn't going to wait around and let that happen. But I was terrified for the first time in my life.
The door to the room creaked and opened. A man stood there with long black hair and deep red eyes, but I couldn't see his face. He was a little over six feet tall from my point of view. His appearance was enough to make the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end. "Now, let's have that fun."
~~~~~~~~

Haru felt life draining with every last slice of the small dagger, every scream that escaped her lips. All the while, the man stood smirking and laughing.
"Is anyone going to save you? No! No one even knows you are here!" He paused and backed away. "But I won't kill you." She was thrown back into the cage, bleeding, gasping, wishing for death.
"K-Kurama, help me."
"No, you pull your own weight! You always have and always will!"
Her head lifted from the ground. "Hm?"
"Haru chan, please get up." It didn't sound pleading, more demanding.
"No, I can't. Natsu, I just can't. Besides, it's not nice to mess around with my mind."
"Haru, you have to stand up! We're doing our best to keep them out of the Realm! If you are bitten then that blood-sucking bastard will be immune to the repelling wards that were put on the rod! Only those who are realated by blood to that rod can even touch it! You can't let that happen!"
"I can't prevent it. I can't even move. Even if I could, I'm in a warded cage. There's no way out."
"Then....you'll have to rely on the detectives....."

Natsu didn't tell Haru how bad the situation in the Realm of Seasons truely was. Aki and Natsu were losing control. They had taken refuge with all of the remaining servants they could find. They kept the army of vampires at bay, but they were losing ground.
The Rod of Seasons was a weapon of unimaginable power. Dark creatures, such as vampires could never touch it. They would need the blood connection to it. That meant the blood of one or more of the sisters. The more sisters they capture, the more of the rod's power will be available to them.

Haru sighed. 'Maybe I can try to separate from my body. I wouldn't feel the pain, at least. It won't take any energy either.' She sighed once more, relaxing her spirit and body. She soon found herself free of mortal pain and floating outside the cage. "Well, that's better. I have about an hour. Now, let's see if I can find Kurama."

~~~~~~~~~
This wasn't just a nightmare for Kurama. He wanted to wake up. All he had been hearing were Haru's screams all night. He wasn't dreaming though. Something told him that this had been real. Where was she? He hadn't been able to pick up on her ki signature for days.
"Kurama kun." came the whispering voice. Haru was laughing lightly. "Now you're crying AND blushing. What am I going to do with you, fox boy?" She appeared in his dreams standing directly in front of him. "And don't go thinking I'm dead again, because I'm not!"
"So, you're just a wondering spirit?"
"No. I just decided to come and visit you."
"And you have a habit of late-night appearances."
"Is something wrong with that, Kurama?" She paused. "Now, what to do about the vampires...."
"HARU!"
"OUCH! Damn it, Fuyu! Watch where the hell you're going!!"
"Don't worry, fox boy. I'm not here to kill you." Kurama still looked kind of horrified. Fuyu regained her composure as a spirit and began. "Okay, we've got some huge problems."
"Such as?" Kurama and Haru asked together.
"Well, Natsu and Aki have lost the Realm,"
"Shit."
"The Rod of Seasons is in the hands of the vampire leader,"
"Double shit."
"And my body had been taken over by a vampire spirit!"
"You're not taking this seriously!"
"Well, what about my body?"
"Bruised, bleeding, same as it was when you left it."
"Okay. Let's see....Kurama find the rest of the Tantei. Fuyu, go get Aki, Natsu, and any others that are still alive."
"Wait, what are you going to do?" Kurama looked worried.
"I'm going to try and counteract the rod."
"No! Not smart!" Fuyu yelled.
Haru shrugged. "That's me, the master of stupidity."
Both looked worried.
"Don't worry!" She made a pleading face.
"Well.....Okay, just don't get killed."
"Easier said than done. I'll send out a ki signal for you to follow there. Now, all I have to do is remember the spell for artificial moonlight and I'll be set. Ja!" And she disappeared with a smile on her face.
"Well, stupid boy, don't just sit there. We've got a human race to save!"
~~~~~~~~~

Haru reentered the mansion where she had been held captive.
"Still wounded. Damn. That makes things just a tad harder." She winced as her spirit once again merged with her body. "Okay, that really hurts." She stummbled to her feet and gather her energy. "Now for a little moonlight."

~~~~~~~~~
"And you let her go ALONE?! Fuyu! How irresbonsible can you be?!" Natsu yelled.
"Look, either she went to stop him or that bastard uses the rod. What would you have done?"
Natsu sighed. "The same thing."
"Let's hurry."
~~~~~~~~~

I stood, burning the wards away with my regained power. "And the Sister of Spring has returned." I had minor wounds, but nothing too serious.
"Ah, Little Haru."
The black lights flicked on in an instant, revealing to me that the room was much larger than I had seen.
"I'm glad you're here."
The same man from before came into view, still dressed in black. This would be the first time I had seen his face. I held my breath as he stepped into the light.
"My name is Teshin. I do hope you remember me."
"K-K'so! No! You're not real! You can't be real! It's not possible!" My mind raced as I focused to send a message to my sisters.

~~~~~~~~
**Fuyu! Aki! Natsu!**
The group stopped.
"Haru? Go ahead, speak."
**T-The leader of t-the vampires....**
"Haru, your studdering. What's wrong?"
**The leader of the vampires is....our father.**
DarkWater: BUM BUM BUM!
Hiei: Give it a rest.
DarkWater: Sorry. I just felt like doing that.
Kurama: Why?
