Chapter 7:
The Rose Blooms

Juu looked at the other side of the platform, two figures standing there. One was female, her long red hair reaching her waist, her blood-red bangs hanging infront of green eyes. She wore a black mage robe similar to Juu's, waving in the wind next to her legs. She grinned at Juu, shaking her own hand in midair to get rid of the last of a lingering fire on her fingertips. Her fox-ish ears twitched as she turned to the other one, "That's the last of them for awhile,"

The other figure was male, with white hair reaching his shoulders. His purple eyes scanned Juu up and down as he walked forward, smirking. He wore a light blue robe, not a mage-robe persay, but in the same style, in remembrance of their old attempts to break into the Ningenkai from the Makai. His body seemed as pale as death, considering he was more or less an Ice Apparition. "Been awhile, hasn't it?" He smirked. This man would soon be known to be called Rushio, if he had given Juu enough time.

Juu looked at the two and walked over to the girl, his eyes in shock. He reached a hand up and it gently caressed her face. "Kat...is it really you? Or is this all just some demented dream my father's putting me through?" He asked.

"It's me. And your father's dead, remember? Like the rest of your family. You're the last of the Yukio Clan." She looked to him.

"They've been visiting my dreams. Shikama and My father." They looked into each others eyes and didn't notice Rushio leaving. She hugged him and then they looked around. "Let's go, I believe the Tantei are waiting for me,"

"Tantei?" Kat looked to him. "Don't tell me you're working for Reikai now,"

He smirked, "It gives me a licence to kill, so to speak. Kill demons, anyway." He grabbed her and walked into the shadows. "Let's go." They faded into the shadows and reappeared in what was Seiryuu's room, to see Hiei torching a body and then walking by. Juu looked to the body, but it was so burnt the features were impossible to make out. All he could be certain of was that he had been very tall.

They walked to catch up to the group and Kuwabara looked to Kat.

"Who's this new man?" He asked, "Did Rosey-Man get a new friend?"

Juu glared at him with a dark passion. He felt Kat get tense, "Let me handle the idiot." He jumped into the air and kicked Kuwabara hard in his face with the instep of his left foot and while in the air spun around quickly to hit him again with the heel of his right foot and watched Kuwabara go flying into the opposite wall. "She's a woman, imbecile!"

He growled and continued walking with Kat. Kuwabara slowly got up, shocked with the sudden attack, and rushed over. "I just figured it was a guy because of the increase of girly-men I seem to be meeting."

Juu sighed and looked as they walked out onto yet another platform, looking at one final tower. "The Third Beast?" Juu turned to Kurama.

Kurama shook his head, "No, the fourth. While you were gone we finished two beasts." Then they all heard a type of eerie moaning. They turned towards the tunnels infront of them and saw something that amazed them all.

Tall, skin and bones green men. Their eyes showed both sorrow and exhaustion, but they obviously weren't human, so it might have just been a normal look for them, one could never know. Atop their head sat what looked to be a bannana peal. Now weren't these things strange.

"I thought green men were supposed to be short?" Kuwabara blinked.

"Yuusuke! Go kill the beast, we'll take care of them here." Kurama took a rose from out of his hair.

Yuusuke ran in the direction of the tower only to be stopped by a wall of green men. "I can't get through!" He panicked.

"I'll clear the path!" Juu ran forward and jumped into the air. "DIE!" In his raised hand the purpilish black fire formed. He smirked and threw it down. It landed on the first green man in the wall, setting him ablaze.

Yuusuke blinked. "How is that supposed to help? It was only one."

"I'm not done." Juu fell to the ground and looked to the green man ablaze. He blew on him and as if by gasoline, the fire spread among the wall in the line. The green men then fell all at once. "Go." Yuusuke darted through the crowd and up the stairs.

"It's a shame I don't have enough magic to do that again....give me some time and I'll have more magic to do it, but until then I'll use Spirit Energy." He sighed and reached into his hair, pulling out 5 black roses as he was surrounded by 5 green men. He spun around, using one foot as a break after a complete 360 degree spin. He stood up straight and noticed how each green man had a rose lodged in their mouth. He jumped into the air, "Shadow Consumption!" The rose petals fell off and to the ground as the bud exploded into shadows. Each green man was slowly devoured by the shadows, first the legs, then the arms, then the torso, and at last their heads fell to shadow.

Juu landed, smirking. He was, however, unaware of the shadow behind him. He didn't hear Kurama yelling to him, and was grabbed from behind by three of the green men at once. They tightly grabbed his legs and arms, climing up to another platform.

He looked to them and began punching him around on the platform, him dodging every single punch thrown at him. "Let me tell you three something."

"I am the wicked specimin of sin with no profound logic to believe in. Hold me tight, but don't hold me close, I go where I desire." He reached into his robes and took out an already transformed black rose in the shape of a sword, and with one swift motion, he decapitated all three at once. He walked to the edge of the platform and jumped down to where the others were, as he fell the sword turned into his trademark staff.

His hands clenched around the staff, Kurama had his Rose Whip out, Kat had a scythe she had summoned, Kuwabara his Spirit Sword, and Hiei's fists clenched. "Time to get serious." Juu smirked and then all of them charged forward.
