| Reviewed By: FarAwayEyes [MediaMiner Member] On: February 21, 2010 11:23 CST Comment/Review: I have to admit, I was surprised by the focus on Inuyasha and Kagome at the beginning of this chapter. I was certainly not expecting it. As much as their fights are to set up some alone time, I think it's interesting that Kagome's thoughts are more about arguing with anyone she can. There's more than sexual tension going on, between Inuyasha and Kagome, and within the group itself. Obviously there's something more than that agitating Kagome. I loved the lemon/lime section. I think it's a good twist to make Inuyasha rougher with Kagome, considering how tender and gentle a lot of writers tend to make him----myself included. It also seemed a lot more primal than some of the other lemons/limes in fandom. This line is perhaps my favorite from the whole section: Wet heat blossomed between her legs at his insistent touch. It just seems to be such a fresh way to describe a woman's arousal. I'm not surprised that Inuyasha lost his temper upon getting interrupted. I am curious, though, what's going on with this boar and the other demons Kagome mentions to Sango. There's definitely something else going on here than meets the eye. I am also not surprised that Inuyasha managed to make time to complete their tryst, though. The deeper shift into Miroku's point of view was smooth and just as heated. I had to figure that he was dreaming. What I found interesting was the fact that Sango seemed, except for the last few actions, to act completely in character. She was bold yet shy all at the same time in his dream. It's funny that Inuyasha caught him. Nice save on his part, too. Poor Miroku has to rely on his own hand to get some relief. It's too bad Sango's too reserved sometimes. The routines of the group are back in full force at the end of the chapter, making it frustrating for Miroku and Sango, both. It's an endless circle of arguing and sitting and stress. I could feel the tension oozing throughout the entire chapter, and I think I could slice it with a knife. The dynamics between the whole group are so taut. I get the feeling that one moment could make the whole thing snap. Considering the ominous demons circling, I think it might happen. I'm eager to see where this goes next.
| Reviewed By: FarAwayEyes [MediaMiner Member] On: February 14, 2010 16:46 CST Comment/Review: I really love how you started this story. I thought I'd finally take the time to review it now that you've completed it. I find it interesting that the catalyst for most of the action in this prologue happens off the page. Inuyasha and Kagome are obviously involved and are covering it up. I think Sango's reaction to it is remarkably different than some might think. She's disgusted by it, but not because they're intimate with one another. She's partially disgusted because they're hiding it, and partially disgusted because she's not with Miroku. Despite the mixed signals she's sent to the monk, she really wants to be with him and to open an intimate relationship. I was very impressed with how you handled the point of view here. We got a taste of what was going through both Miroku and Sango's minds as they had to sit awkwardly behind in camp after Inuyasha and Kagome leave for their tryst. It's building the tension up between the pair, and with Shippo as buffer there's no chance for them to truly release it. I do think it sets up the conflict that Sango will eventually have to face. If she wants to have her own relationship rather than be jealous of Inuyasha and Kagome, she'll have to acknowledge her feelings for Miroku not only to herself, but to him as well. This line, about Inuyasha and Kagome's relationship, seems to sum up Miroku and Sango's instead."I believe they will continue to take refuge in the darkness until they become more comfortable displaying their feelings. They must first come to terms with each other," he said, sincerely. They may not be sneaking away to make love, but they're clearly hiding in the darkness from one another. They're going to have to move behind that if they have any hope of having a relationship. I felt the tension between them so clearly that it was palpable. It's possibly one of the best handling of the pairing I've seen in a long time. Rather than having Sango slap Miroku silly after he tries to cop a feel, you avoid the tired slapstick and refer to it instead. We know that it's a standby of sorts in the manga and the majority of fandom, but it's nice to see it absent here. The mention of it underscores their dual frustrations nicely, too. I also got the sense that Miroku misread Sango's remarks. She tells him to stop being a pervert, which really meant that she wanted him to make some sort of move. I look forward to how you bring these two together and what obstacles you'll throw in their way. Knowing these two, it'll come with a ton of twists and turns, some well placed frustration, and some surprising sweet moments.

I have enjoyed this so much and I really hate to see it end but I know every good story must. The ups and downs of Miroku and Sango and the development of their relationship was really well done and I like the approach you took. They weren't just thrown together, instead they grew and became closer. The final scene was lovely and I can just imagine Miroku being slow and gentle with Sango because he understood that's what she needed. Well done, dear, well done!!
| Title: Epilogue Reviewed By: LuxKen27 [MediaMiner Member] On: February 10, 2010 21:47 CST Rating(s):Originality/Creativity: 10 of 10 Enjoyment Factor: 10 of 10 Overall Rating: 10 of 10 Comment/Review: *SQUEE* ZOMG, first and foremost - I was so happy to see this posted up! =) And then, almost immediately, I was sad...because I knew this journey was finally coming to a close. I haven't followed this story from the very beginning, but I've been faithful for the last year or so, and it's been a warm, familiar old friend. I'm going to miss waiting for updates and speculating over what might happen next, but at the same time - the ending is so very, very satisfying. The characters have come full circle, and your ending says it best: Let them see... see that their trial by fire had only strengthened their bond, that things had changed and, this time, the change was for the better. You know, you keep going on about how you feel the bar for lemonfic for this pairing has been raised, but I still maintain that you meet the challenge and soar right on past it. I loved this lemon. It felt right for the moment, for the situation, for the point in their lives where each of them were. It's hard to write a sex scene with condom use (I, at least, find it awkward, even in 'modern times'), but I like how you incorporated that aspect into this scene. The moment itself added a bit of light humor, and showed that power would not be a struggle between them. Both of them wished to enter into the sexual relationship on equal terms, and I think that reflects between on both characters than any other dynamic could. I loved that you had Miroku turn Sango away from him as he disrobed, to not focus on his scars and have yet another way to beat herself up - its not that he was hiding himself from her out of shame, but going the extra step to make her feel comfortable and take away some of the guilt and sorrow she'd been struggling with. I even like the aspect of neither of them completely disrobing, which can be fun to write =) and seems like a necessary part of most lemon-writing, but there's something heated, urgent, and sexy about not taking the time for extended foreplay. Especially after Miroku learns about the magical contraceptive, I can see how his mind would go straight to the gutter, LOL :P But I'll tell you what I liked *nost* about the scene: those three little words. You didn't use the cliche, corny line, but one that was much more powerful and meaningful in this situation: I trust you. Without trust, you can't have love, so its like they are really building this into their bond, and its wonderful to see. You don't have to magically declare you're "in love" with someone to have sex with them, but you do have to trust them, that they won't hurt you at such a vulnerable moment. I loved that you included that, and some extended exposition on that, in the heat of the scene. It was really, really well done. As I said before, I'm going to miss this story, but at the same time, I am really thrilled that I can go back and reread it from the start, have a chance to savor it as a whole, find the nuances that only you could see until now. There's no one out there writing better relationship development for this pairing than you (go ahead, try to deny it!), and this is at the very top of my favorite stories list. It's original, suspenseful, romantic, dramatic, even a bit comedic at times. Not only do you explore Sango's character to perfection, but also her relationship with Miroku, with Kirara, and with Inuyasha and Kagome. I feel like I've gotten to know the Inutach better, having read this fic, and I'm sure I'll carry something of these characterizations and influences with me as I continue to read and write within this fandom. And so, I thank you, for taking the time to share this story with us - we are certainly all the better for having it in our fandom =)
| Title: Chapter 18 Reviewed By: LuxKen27 [MediaMiner Member] On: September 27, 2009 21:54 CDT Comment/Review: Ooh, you tease! ;) LOL, what a place to break off. I love the intensity of this chapter, how Sango moves through the gauntlet of emotions, from anger and frustration to acceptance to reassurance to uncertainty ~ you really displayed it beautifully. I sense these two coming together, steadily, and yet Sango's hesitation is what's holding them back. I was a little surprised that Miroku propositioned her - only a little, considering the conversation at the clearing - and, I think, even more surprised when Sango turned him down. I thought she had moved past this cycle of want and need and inability to allow herself pleasure, but I suppose not quite yet. This was really beautifully laid out, starting to tie all the loose ends together :) I want to know what Mushin and Inuyasha were talking about that made the latter cool his heels another night! Must've been pretty serious...I look forward to the epilogue of the story, and I have no doubt it will be as intense and lovely as the rest of the story. Its been quite the adventure, but I have to say, I'd do it all over again, hehe.

| Title: Chapter Seventeen Reviewed By: LuxKen27 [MediaMiner Member] On: July 26, 2009 14:47 CDT Comment/Review: Oooh, I just want to grab Sango and shake her, LOL!! Augh, of all times for her to shut down and flee, that was not it. Miroku seems to have such a great read on her - knowing she wanted the physical comfort even without her saying it - that its frustrating to see she doesn't trust him - or herself - enough to tap into the same implicit knowledge. Her excuses at the end sound tired to my ears, and hopefully to hers as well. She and Miroku have been through too much for it to all break down like this at the end. I'm actually rather surprised she didn't stay and hear him out, but at the same time I understand why. She'd had two or three days to berate herself, and his rejection on top of everything else must've put her over the edge. I can't help but feel for the both of them, struggling so mightily on their own, being too afraid to struggle throug it together. Miroku makes good points, of course, but at the same time...the romantic in me says that it just feels like they should have some faith in their bond to bring them over this. This was exquisitely written, as usual =) For all your angsting over writing from Inuyasha's point of view, I thought that was definitely one of the strongest passages in the chapter. It's just like him to be frustrated and impatient and show his worry in unconventional ways. I also liked the little scene where Kagome and Sango discuss the birth control - I can't imagine how mortified Kagome must've been to see Shippo rooting around through her stuff! I know that's one conversation I wouldn't want to have with him, LOL. And, of course, that line of Miroku's at the end - "If you were to become pregnant…" immediately brought that back to mind ;) Just the fact that he phrased it like that should've given Sango some clue as to his state of mind in making such a decision...but alas. She is sometimes too stubborn for her own good! I really enjoyed the tie back to the earlier part of the story, with Midori; its nice to know she wasn't one of Naraku's underlings (though you can never tell with him...) and that her remedy came in handy after all. Well, this review has been all over the place, so I apologize for being so disorderly, but I really loved this chapter!! The tension over Miroku's mortality, the awkward concern over Kagome's condoms, the angsty introspection about the future of monk and demon slayer ~ absolutely delicious!! I am looking forward to the end, to see if you have any more surprises in store (and to see if this will, indeed, end happily!).

| Title: Chapter Sixteen Reviewed By: LuxKen27 [MediaMiner Member] On: June 15, 2009 13:14 CDT Comment/Review: Wow! So much happening in this chapter, even if not of the 'action' variety. So the whole thing was just another one of Naraku's convoluted plots, eh? I might have guessed as much...his schemes are also so big and unwieldy and unnecessarily hurtful - like the more people he can damage along the way, the better. Ugh! So the group is in a tight spot with Miroku suddenly coming under possession, eh? That's a scary thought! I hope they make it to Mushin's and figure out an answer before the darkness consumes him. But by far, the best part of the chapter was the last part, when Sango finally confesses what happened along the way; I think she really needed to open up like that, because she definitely keeps things all bottled up inside, almost until its too late. I liked, however, that she didn't immediately feel better upon spilling her guts - when you hold something that dark and desperate within yourself for so long, and you reach the end of your emotional rope like that, it often doesn't feel better after its all out in the open. The pain is still raw, and I felt that right along with Sango there at the end. It's going to take much more than simply saying the words or reliving the memories to help her heal. I hope that the detail of her carrying her brother's weapon and Miroku's staff will prove itself symbolic, as she attempts to save them just as much as rediscover herself...Looking forward to the next few parts, and even though it feels like its winding down, I sense our group has one last battle left in them yet.
| Title: Chapter Fifteen Reviewed By: LuxKen27 [MediaMiner Member] On: June 04, 2009 13:38 CDT Comment/Review: WUT. LOL, that was my immediate reaction to reading this chapter. I have this feeling of uneasy foreboding as I read through the battle scene, and then a sinking sensation when I saw that word: possession. Augh! So the nightmare hasn't ended just yet, eh? And oh, good grief, for Inuyasha to find them the way he did...here's hoping he doesn't manage to beat Miroku to a bloody pulp before the rest of them have a chance to figure out what's going on! Its interesting that Miroku's the one feeling the firm grasp of this mysterious possession, which I'm guessing somehow stems from the fight with the vine demon a few chapters back? I look forward to finding out where you're taking us from here!!
| Reviewed By: kmoaton [MediaMiner Member] On: May 25, 2009 09:57 CDT Comment/Review: This was wonderful. I'm glad you decided to post it early after all. I'm stunned to see Miroku possessed and grabbing Kagome like that. I did like how you had Miroku ache for Sango while she was talking to Kohaku. It hurts to see him not respond and know he's a pawn for Naraku. This was an excellent addition to the story and I can't wait to see more about the possession! Great work!
| Title: Chapter Fourteen Reviewed By: LuxKen27 [MediaMiner Member] On: May 21, 2009 14:05 CDT Comment/Review: o.O WHAT! LOL, that was my immediate reaction upon reaching the end of this chapter. Wow, talk about an unexpected twist! Now what will our heroes do? They are so close to being reunited, but with this surprise battle...who knows when they will meet up again? And hmm, now I'm definitely wondering what the connection is between the vine demon and Naraku. Did he give it the shard? Why? As a test/trap aimed directly at Sango? It would certainly be a refreshing twist, instead of using her devotion to her brother to deepen her despair...But now that the group has met up with Kagura (and Kohaku), new questions emerge as well. Why are they there, for one? Are they looking for the shard? Is Kohaku sentient enough to be of use, or is he just a distraction? Did Kagome's arrow hit its mark? Wow!! This was a very exciting chapter, and a welcome addition to an already fabulous story. I look forward to the next chapter, to see if any of my questions will be answered!!

Congrats (again!) on your awards, they were most deservedly won - especially for characterization. You show so many different sides to Sango, her inner turmoil and conflict, and make it feel realistic to the universe and absolutely palpable at the same time. Really well done!! It was also nice to see a hint of intimacy with the kiss, and then he end...hopefully Miroku won't mess it up (like, say, by fondling her in her sleep again, LOL) and she'll open up a bit more to him. It is rather worrying, this feeling of possession he had - that brought me up short! So things aren't quite what they seem, eh? And now Kagome's having weird dreams again? Very intriguing!! I look forward to more...
