Ignoring the fact the I use Japanese in my own fics, I'm for keeping it in. For one, there are some words that just don't translate correctly. Like youkai. There are translated mangas that are smart enough to keep some of the original words, knowing that it keeps it more authentic. Why should our fanfiction settle for less?

By the way, your fic is fun to read. The way you weave the future and past together is great. Looking foward to more!

Okay, I don't know the difference in numbering the 'enjoyment factor' and the 'overall rating'. But if "10" is the best one can get then I think that you deserve it. I have trully enjoyed your work. This is by far one of my favorite fanfics. I don't know what words to use but "just right" comes to mind. You made me cry and you made me smile. I was pulled along by your eloquence. There were moments when you did get a bit choppy but, who in life doesn't get that way, writing or otherwise. I don't know if this the way a review goes but "GREAT JOB!!" I seriously can't wait to read up coming chapters. I even got my friend hooked on it. I read the chapters to her.(she doesn't like to read) and any time that the words flow out of ones mouth while one is reading and you don't have to pause to correct a wrong stop or breathing error you know the work is good. Don't stop. (HUGE SMILE)

Hey,
My friend has been bugging me to read this fanfic for the longest time. So here I am. I read what you have posted up and I think its superb. About the Japanese words. Here at mediaminer.org its all about ANIME in other words "JAPANESE ANIMATION". All of the anime have a thing in common THEY COME FROM JAPAN!!! So in the fanfics I think the author has a right to use Japanese words in their story. For all I care they could throw French,Spanish etc. in there. Other then that I enjoyed your fanfic. Update soon!

Okay so far I've enjoyed your fanfic. Really good 2 thumbs up. As for your Japanese words I think He/She should mind their own business and read it the way it is. But your probably not that kind of person you probably listen to the readers request (which I think is awesome). If his/her Japanese friends don't like it just don't read it. Just to let you know you have all your other fans who love the way you write and are waiting for you to update. There are alot of people who mix two languages up(such as my family). ANYWAYS overall rating 10/10. I hope you keep writing update soon!

Regarding the criticism by the person who said that you shouldn't use Japanese words in your English fic: Tell them you will be more than delighted to follow their suggestions AS SOON AS all the English words that are used in Japanese are also removed. Yes, I DO know what I'm talking about. I'm taking Japanese language--have been for over a year now. Ask them when "isukurimu" (ice cream), "steki" (steak), "tapu rekodo" (tape recorder), "fuirumu" (film), and many other words will be removed from the Japanese speech. My Sensei told me that one government official complained about being given a document that had so many English words in it that he could not understand it.

I'm often amazed at the English language which (IMHO) steals words from everywhere. Kindergarten (German), enterpreneur (French), kamikaze (Japanese), tushie (Yiddish--I think), and tons of other words. We can have the whole enchilada, a pig in a poke, or Much Ado about Nothing.

I, for one, am proud that you do not feel it beneath you to learn even a few words of another language. It opens up your eyes to this wonderful world we live in. C'mon. Get with the program, folks! You live in a wonderful society that allows you to experience cultures other than your own and you're not going to take advantage of it? Live a little!!! Don't be afraid to try new things--even if others think you foolish. At least YOU tried. I say, Bravo. Bravo, my dear.

Hey,
I just wanted to comment on the whole using Japanese words in the middle of a English written fanfic. I honestly do speak broken Japanese most of the time and so do most of my friends, and I find nothing wrong with using it in fanfics. I support you fully in using sentences such as "That is so kawaii!" instead of "That is so cute!"; and your right, most of the other authors do write the same way (using Japanese words in the middle of an English sentence). I think that as long as the majority of the people think it's okay to write the way you are then it's fine, and considering most authors do it shouldn't be a problem. Well I just wanted to give my thoughts on that comment and say that I really enjoy reading your work! Please keep it up!
Sincerely,
Maggie

Ok, look.. about 'hai' 'gomen nasai' 'iie', ect. don't worry about it. Regardless of what ANYoNE says, it is a part of fanfiction heritage (at least in regard of anime fanfiction) It's even got a name - fanfictionese.
Now, I personally stopped using fanfictionese because i wrote for an english audience and it seemed to me that my stories flowed better without it. BUT.. it's personal preference. Sometimes, too many unfamiliar phrases get irritating, rather than add authentic flaver. Sometimes, it works fine. Write what YOU like better...
