I read this story on a recommendation, spacing it out over the course of three days. I knew after the first chapter that I would want to savor this story and its bittersweet look at what draws two individuals to one another. I am glad that I took my time with it, the story as a whole is just wonderful.

This is a wonderful story - full of angst, sorrow and bittersweet. Your Kagome is just right - you can see why she walks around in the fugue. Sesshomaru is, in his own way, in a similar state. The last chapter really showed that side of Sesshomaru. Did he really regret his decision not to revive Inuyasha? Did he really want to change the past? And how sad for him to think that he would always be only a 'replacement' for his brother in Kagome's eyes.

This is just about the best fan fic I have ever read. The story is swirling in my head. It is well constructed and evocative. This is the gem of a story that keeps me looking for more when I tire of reading the mediocre. Many, many thanks, Karen in CT

Wow... Words can't really express it. That was really, Wow. Can I say that again? Wow. I really didn't know what to expect but it certainly wasn't this. This is so, wow. Wonderful job. Nearly had me in tears at some parts. And Kagome was in such a depression. And at some points I really wanted to just shake her awake. But you put in such detail and emotions that I could feel what she was going through. I never read something like this. It is a completely different look to what most would turn into a happy ever after story. But you put it into reality with such deep emotions and detail that I feel that I was experencing this through my own eyes. The reader feels the pain of lonelyness in such a deep manner. People speek of being alone, but you put it as alone in a crowd, and that is the deepest and most depressing state of lonliness. Really great job. I really love the story. keep up the wonderful work.

Resmiranda, you held me absolutely spellbound for three hours, reading this story. Gorgeously written, filled with bittersweet passion, grief, regret, and finally, forgiveness...wow. Just, wow. A tiny quibble about Kagome asking Inuyasha to become human for her--it's been my impression, from watching the anime and the films, that the biggest change between Kikyou and Kagome was her acceptance of Inuyasha as hanyou. Kagome's never wanted to change him--in fact, she's probably the first person in his life other than his mother to accept Inuyasha exactly as he is. But, really just a tiny quibble. And it did not affect my enjoyment of the story. I had to stop reading at one point to go run an errand, and I was thinking about Kagome and Sesshoumaru the whole time I was out, and looking forward to getting back to this story. Kagome/Sesshoumaru stories are a tough sell for me, since they usually revolve around "Kagome never really loved Inuyasha" or "Inuyasha never really loved Kagome." Your tale pulled off a difficult feat--made Kagome's feelings for both brothers real and convincing. Wonderful. Just wonderful.
