 Title: Author's Update

I'm way past due for an update, and I apologise for that. You all deserve to know what's going on, and I should be shot for making you wait so long. First, the story isn't dead, I don't have writers block, and has in reality been greatly worked on since my last chapter release. However, between my job, School, House/Social Life, and that blasted World of Warcraft game, I find my energies and times greatly divided. In fact, most, if not all, of the work I've done since the last post has been here at work, during the few moments I can get to myself to work on it. It's not dead, just so you know, but greatly delayed. I'll post an update as soon as I'm comfortable with the way I'm taking the story. Thank you.

More action! This story is turning into a romance novel. I agree that dealing with Teenage issue and personal angst are part of the concept in X-men evolution, but Bayville is too PEACEFUL lately. I have to agree with "Bob King of the Were-Lemurs" that while the earlier chapters has angst, tragedy, and depth, components of good drama. In the later chapters, it appear the characters are dealing more with hormones than advancing the story. Not that I mind the hormones of course. Anyway, the story as a whole still is very appealing. I am looking forward to when you introduce the events at the dance where the story should get interesting again.

okay i am enjoying this fanfic... now I have to ask if the gene for mutation is male encoded, someone explain nightcrawler, whose fatehr was human and mother was the mutant. Or is this some new thing put out, because in the comics for the most part it was the mother that was passing on the mutant traits. there are of course exceptions to this, but really

Hmm so far I like it, there are a few things that are bugging me especially the use of "duck tape" instead of "duct" tape, although it's nothing that a good beta wouldn't fix. Also, as far as continuity in the X-men universe goes, it's the males that carries the X-gene (the gene that codes for being a mutant) not the mother . But I guess since this is a fanfic and all that's alright. :) Would want to see more of the work.

Heh, didn't have enough room in the above post. I still haven't figured out how to space crap in these comments, other wise I would be able to give it that intelligent look I'm so fond of. In reply to the post below, I couldn't agree more. In fact, and I'm not so terribly surprised, no one has seen the major up coming shit in the rather obtuse way I'm known to write things. I hint, in a very subtle manner, things going on in the back ground. I'm not a big buff on giving antogonists their own little scenes, unless it's needed. Character development is one thing, intrigue and mystery is another. I like to leave people guessing, unsure of what's going to happen next. Anyone familiar with the Evolution series knows that almost immediatly after the dance ALL HELL breaks loose as mutants are revealed and the storm of prejudice descends on the populace. In fact, once I get the next chapter up either tomorrow, or the day after (There's a scene at the beginning I'm not happy with, and want to rewrite to make more sense) you'll notice a rather jarring shift back into the more physical combat aspect of the series. I've been carefully plotting the next 10 or so chapters, mainly on character development and the running/closing of tiny plot involving other, technically secondary, characters in the story thus far. Anyway, there's a heads up. Matdeception

Heya everyone! Let me try to get everything in here as quick as I can. No, the story is not dead, in fact I have the next chapter ready to go. I have, however, run into real life issues that have been seriously kicking my ass. Namely, work, sinus, lack of sleep, girl friend dropping the 'I'm pregnant' bomb on me. Joy. Work's been a major bitch, due to sinus attacks and the like. My sinus problems are completely my room mates fault, I've discovered. I have a minor allergy to dust, nothing overly big and generally it just causes sneexing. A culumitive effect, however, causes sinus attacks that floor me. I usually change the air filter in the air conditioner once a month, but because of my busy schedule my roomie was suppose to do it, and he did, sorta. He removed the filter and set it to the side. Yeah, that's it. So I've been breathing in non filtered air with a nasty dirty and dusty filter right next to it, which has been the primary cause of my hellish month. I should of realized, when at the beginning of the previous month everything seemed to be going my way (Hot chick I knew from high school, met her by chance, got laid and got a steady girl friend again. I took my boss on a five hour bitch fest that left him crying, and thanking me of all things. Got a raise too [uber]. And the internet from work was fixed). Everything turned to shit, at least work side, after that. Then the GF drops the bomb and I go apeshit on Trojan condoms. Anyway, I'lln post the new chapter soon.

I've really enjoyed this fic and am sad to see that you've aparently abandoned it. I think your biggest problem was when Ranma and Nabiki end up in bayville. Everything leading up to that point, the deaths of Genma and the Tendo's, Ranma revenge, and all that was great, awesome even. However the story seems to drag after that. You need to find something to add conflict back to the story (non-romance related) Maybe Ranma has to go back to Japan to rescue Mystique who went back to collect an important family heirloom and was captured or something like that. Ryouga showing up again would be a good distraction as well.

I really like this story--it's a fun read and I hope you update soon. The one thing that bothers me, though, is Ranma's curse. Since when has it ever just sat around for so long without causing problems at the worst possible time? Anyway, keep up the good work.
