If you're unhappy with my rating, it is largely because, while I've no objections to same-sex pairings per se, gratuitous pairings that defy circumstances strike me as mere fan service and not particularly worthy of acceptance. Your focus on Sessh and your interest in yaoi makes me wholly amenable to binding him to another male. However, given the reality that same-sex attraction is NOT the majority in any culture observed makes me wary of your other pairings. It appears gratuitous. For example, you could easily have made Sairix(?) female. There is nothing about him that could not have been equally represented by a female, as so aptly demonstrated by your evil opponent. Pairing up Inuyasha with Koaga is pretty, if a bit anti-climactic. Perhaps, and I will admit it here, my distaste is driven by your pairing of Sessh's father with himself. The rational reasonings against these taboos are so self-evident that I won't bother tabulating them here. It is an all-too-easy excuse to postulate demonic exclusions. Intergenerationlist prohibitions against incest rest upon the relationship you have recognized: a child's tendency to revere parental actions, even into adulthood. It doesn't make it any more acceptable, as it is still an abuse of power, any way you look at it. For the sake of argument - this is a public forum, after all - I hope you realize I'm accepting your 1st Amendment right to posit otherwise, and am merely editorializing. I think you write quite well, in general, and bring to fore important concepts. I think you've explored various concepts in intriguing ways, and don't fault you at all for positions generally taken. I do think you've fallen back upon male-male relationships as fanservice, easy acceptance among your general readership, and have relied upon the fantasy aspects of your story to forgive the roughshod trampling of typical, normative expectations. This is fanfic, and you are entirely within your rights to do so. If you consider this a flame review, I have no recourse. I mean my review purely constructively. If every meaningful relationship in a story is found to be male/male, does it not raise the question, at least subconsciously, as to whether or not male/female relationships have meaning beyond reproduction? I read and enjoy yaoi. Don't get me wrong. I am outraged at intolerance of same-sex relationships (and prop 8 in California is an issue that reaches deep in my soul). But slavish devotion to yaoi is, I can't help but think, counter-productive. The taboos against incest are equally effective against same-sex relationships as they are against het-couplings, when you focus on the individuals involved instead of merely the medical odds against the results. Incest on the parental basis is relational to teacher/student relationships, priest/penitent relationships, even employer/employee - it is an abuse of power! As for siblings, I suspect the same dynamics are at work. I've no objection to testing taboos. I do object to discarding them out of hand. On the other hand, I do want you to know that I have enjoyed and generally approve of your work.

I must say this is one of the best stories I've ever had the pleasure of reading. I have a short attention span so you know that's an honest to gods compliment. I simply can't get enough. More! ^^
| Title: Pride Reviewed By: Subtlesarcasm On: June 01, 2009 08:52 PDT Comment/Review: OK, caught me by suprise, that did, I like the Raven so much, I really don't want him to be planning something evil, I'm hoping that what Kagome feels is the weight of the things he's done in the past, not something he's planning for the future. I don't want him to kill her, and I don't want her to kill him, besides, she has to help Sess and Inupapa. With Naraku back, she would be a tremendous help sending him back to hell. Maybe the Malevolence she feels is what he is planning to do to Jormander and the preggo raven (after she gives birth of course)???? PLEASE??? All in all, this is a wonderful story. I'm even OK with Inu/Koga (cause Inu is dominant). Usually that combination gives me the heebee jeebee's. LOL.....this story has made me laugh, cry, gasp, get angry, laugh some more, I thought I was going to choke to death I laughed so hard at the game of fetch, with Inupapa beating Koga & Sess in his true form. I could go on and on, but I won't. Keep up the good work, I can't wait for the next chapter.

I really like the story. I like not only because I love the plot line, which keeps me as a reader on my toes, but how different it is from the other stories that I have read. I enjoy the balance of humor and darkness. Also, I believe that you have done a great job of being true to the characters, but adding your own personal touch. Your character, Sairex, is so amusing! I love him! Bringing Naraku back took me by surprise and Shippo becoming a crazed fox demon was a bit disconcerting. I was so involved in your story that I did not realize that I was yelling at my computer! I tell you this because it only happens when I truly get involved and attached to the characters that I am reading about. So, I send a glomp in your direction and PLEASE keep up the great work!

| Reviewed By: animeGaki [MediaMiner Member] On: May 15, 2009 18:23 PDT Comment/Review: Duh... I reread the previous chapters. Sorry for not catching the concept of Shippo tossing the potion into the pot. ^_^ Thanks for the explanation. Anywho, great work, yet again. There sure is a lot going on at once! ^_^
| Reviewed By: animeGaki [MediaMiner Member] On: May 13, 2009 18:53 PDT Comment/Review: hahaha... Nice. Taisho as a woman, huh? I think it will be good and healing for Seshomaru to have the upper hand and be back in his comfortable mental place of being dominant. I was a little confused about chronology of this chapter, however. First it's dinner with the tea, then it's Shippo talking about who to give the potion to. I'm all for keeping the surprise until the end of the chapter, but the time jump made this chapter feel a bit choppy. But other than that, this is a great transition! ^_^ Keep it up!

| Reviewed By: aleabeth [MediaMiner Member] On: May 12, 2009 02:31 PDT Comment/Review: What the hell happened to Sesshomaru at the end there???? Don't tell me 'whats-his-face' still has some kind of 'mating' hold on him? Wouldn't that become null and void if he's dead dead???? Inquiring minds want (no demand!) to know. Excellent chapter :)
| Reviewed By: aleabeth [MediaMiner Member] On: May 10, 2009 00:09 PDT Comment/Review: Ok... seems I missed a chapter... Female hey? So, if your already female, would it turn them into a male? And if one dose turns and another dose turns ya back... holy shit batman! LOL The whole lot of them are going to be switching back on forth till they figure it out? Cause it landed in a simmering pot right? The possibilities... That actually could be funny as hell.

Anyways, congradulations on 50!! and everyone in the house beware of Shippo!
