wow this is really good! u did a great job on the progression of hiei and kagome's relationship so in this chapter they did have sex right? aww man that's the highest point in their relationship and it starts going downhill from there? i would have liked it more if they had some real relationship before it went downhill but i do love this story!! u did an amazing job, please update soon

Well, that was completely unexpected. It didn't quite seem to follow the last chapter--it's like you skipped something between Kagome realizing she had stepped over the line and that she could never have that and him just dropping his sword and going for it because NOW he was ready. I have to say I LOVED the line you used there "Discarded for something more because there was only so much a weapon could give." And I really like him blaming her eyes for captivating him. ^_^ However, I had to wonder, what was with all the angsting at such a moment? Why would he wonder what could have been if they were different people or had different pasts? It doesn't look like there is any impediment to a relationship here, except for his own hesitation to accept it. So, it all came off as a bit over-dramatic. And when I read your A/N which said this was the HIGH point of their relationship and it's all downfall from here, I blinked. It didn't seem very high at all. I do wish we could have a little real relationship before things go south. Slow progression is fine, but I really didn't see them having sex as being a progression in this chapter, given all the statements about lost souls in a cruel world. For a high point, it was really quite a downer. (And don't worry about taking so long to get to the lemony stuff. It's true that 20 chapters seems like a lot of story before they "jumped each other's bones," but they ARE 20 short chapters. You're up to 29,631 words of story here, but although Hiei and Kagome become lovers in BWM in chapter 6, the first 5 chapters are 55,106 words long. So, you haven't been keeping everyone waiting an unreasonable amount of time. ^_^) I'll be looking forward to the next chapter, though I'm ready for some sunshine here instead of so much insecurity and gloom and doom.

hmmm...my last review just sorta went screwy, so i guess ill tone it down, and say my piece again. ur story's awesome, and ur awesome. ur college, however, is not, and i wish u the best of luck with ur studies/exams. im ridiculously happy that several of my favorite stories have been updated, and i hope u have the chance to update soon. if not, it wont be held against u. ^________^

I loved your writing but every once in a while you messed up on a fu words but over all it was grate. I didn't want to stop reading!!! It is after new years thou and you said that you would have some new chapters posted on New Years.

Hehheh! I should have realized if I hadn't seen that last one, I might have missed a preceeding one, too. Hiei's return through HIS eye. I do so love the point when he realizes that it doesn't matter what he may think or wish, his feelings are engaged. And i particularly loved his thoughts about how Kagome snares men. She brings out their protective side. I've tried to hit upon that myself in a few stories. I definitely think it was a key factor for Inuyasha that he could declare himself her protector. Kikyou never let him do that for her. And by letting him do so, Kagome showed her faith and trust in him and it made him much more confident in himself and gave him twice as much to fight for. I agree completely that it would be a draw for just about any male, Hiei being no exception. Those who have never had to care for anyone but themselves probably cherish it all the more. Love the way you brought that out in this chapter. Can't wait for more of this story!
