I have two things to say: awww...and whoo-hoo! Awww is for pretty much the whole chapter up until the Jacuzzi bit right at the end there, so whoo-hoo is for what I can only imagine is about to happen next, LOL. Besides getting a kick out of their family, just as Kagome had, I also really like that you have shown it bothers Inuyasha that she never says "I love you too" back to him. Of course, she doesn't say it yet 'cause she isn't there yet emotionally, so it's understandable, but it is something they should probably discuss soon. Does she think he only says it in lightheartedness? That he's just kidding around? That's partially his own fault for originally saying it all playful-like and void of seriousness, of course, but at this point in time Kagome's got to realize that all joking aside he really does mean it. Just like Inuyasha, I'm waiting for the moment when she says it back, knowing she'll mean it when she does. :-)

Bwahahahaha...mother?! Oh gods...maybe going back to his place hadn't been a good idea. He's a grown freakin' man Izayoi, jeeze! Can't wait to see what happens next with that cliffy there. Anyways, really loved what you just completed before Murphy's Law kicked in, with regard to the whole Rin thing. Even I had forgotten about Rin, momentarily, when he'd first told Kagome he was taking her back to his place. That was absolutely perfect the way you worked that, Kagome a little perturbed but quickly realizing his intentions had been honorable and letting it go with just a playful threat of never pulling crap like that again. Awesome as always, keep it up!

Yay! Awesome update! Getting the 'L' word to slip past her lips shouldn't be too complicated, I just hope she can forgive him without too much difficulty when she finds out who Rin is. Once she can actually come to grips with the fact that he honestly does love her, because something tells me she's not really taking it 100% seriously when he says it, then I'm sure she'll understand why he felt like he had to go to such desperate measures. I mean, I do think she believes him, but on the other hand he does say it so playfully it's easy to assume it's not really the deep, profound and heartfelt confession she probably wants it to be. Plus she's afraid it won't work out from her past, failed relationship, so there's undoubtedly a healthy dose of denial thrown on top of the mix. But first things first, the case! Looking forward to seeing what happens next with all that craziness, too. On a semi-related side note, I think it's fun how you made somebody else other than Naraku the bad guy in this one, and that Naraku is actually a good guy. Of course, we still have Kikyou playing the role of bitchy ex-girlfriend, so you're keeping at least one of the fundamental cliches alive and well. There's nothing wrong with sticking to the mainstream popular themes, after all they're tried and true, but every once in a while I personally find it refreshing to break with cliches, if for no other reason than the characters needing a break from always getting such a bad rep. I like it! :-)

Oh wow, I was not expecting the possibility that Souta's accident wasn't an accident! That's messed up, but a good plot twist! Glad this story doesn't seem to be anywhere near over yet, there's still tons of craziness to unfurl. Keep up the awesome work!

Good update! I like that you cleared up any possible misconceptions that he was going to try and make Kagome extra jealous by showing interest in Rin in return; Rin just being interested in Inuyasha a little bit was all that was needed to get Kagome's jealousy and reconsideration going, and I agree that the last thing he would have wanted to do was hurt her with the drama of actually possibly losing him, as if she'd had her chance and blown it. That is such a common cliche done over and over (and over) again so much so that I absolutely love the different (and in my opinion much more realistic and emotionally healthy) way Inuyasha is handling things in your story - practical jokes not withstanding where emotional health issues are concerned, heh. But so anyway great update! Looking forward to seeing what happens next!

Well I for one like the way this chapter turned out. I think Rin is pulling off her character perfectly, showing an interest in Inuyasha but not just immediately trying to whore herself out to him like a gold digging bitch - good name for Kikyou, by the way. But back to Rin, I think her trying to be Kagome's friend, and asking about her interest in Inuyasha was a brilliant move, because it makes it seem more like Rin is genuinely interested, but would possibly back off if Kagome were already planning on going for it herself, so as not to step on any toes. She was either trying to get Kagome to say she wanted him, or to give her permission, which Kagome did, so I'm sure Rin will be acting even more interested in Inuyasha now that Kagome's given her the go ahead. In the mean time, I like how Inuyasha gave Kagome that quick kiss and whispered 'I love you' because he doesn't want her to think that he's suddenly decided 'fine whatever, never mind then'. If he really does love her, then he'll just give her what she wanted and back off...which is exactly what he did, mind games not withstanding. But that was a cute little bit of reassurance for Kagome's side of things; he doesn't want her just going into a depression after all, thinking she'd blown her chance. Reminding her that his feelings are still there gives her the knowledge that it's not too late to change her mind. Good job! Looking forward to seeing what happens next.

Yay! Okay awesome, so this story isn't almost finished! Not if Operation: Make Kagome Jealous is just now getting underway. Somebody should have told Kagome to be careful what she wished for. I've read a few stories over the years where in a similar setting Inuyasha would honestly say fine then, would honestly try to move on, or at the very least flirt with a genuinely random woman in the hopes of making Kagome jealous with that random woman's heartstrings pulled as collateral damage, sometimes even with Inuyasha going further than he should have and giving Kagome genuine cause to doubt his loyalties. That'll certainly never happen in this scenario because Sesshoumaru would skin him alive! So this is perfect; he has no intention of actually trying to get over Kagome 'cause she says she doesn't want him, he's just trying to get her to see that she does want him. Let the games begin! :-)

Really good so far! I certainly hope that's not the end of it yet. It does feel like we might be nearing the end, but on the other hand I feel like there's gotta be at least a couple more chapters left. Kagome's gotta cave and become Mrs. Takahashi for real, plus is the deal with Kikyou really over with? After all, she's still knocked up and officially telling the paparazzi that it's his. Whatever you decide to do next, I'm sure I'll love it, since I've loved everything you've done so far. Keep it up!
