Ah... what a great way to work in their first meeting, and provide an awesome cliffhanger at the same time! My understanding is that head injuries do filter memories back in - having survived a severe concussion years ago, I recall that short term memories did work their way back into awareness over a few days - so it makes sense that eventually Heero would remember Duo shooting him. But you make it twice as good by making the timing (and visual trigger for the memory) just so... grrrr! cliffie!
gah, got me waiting anxiously for the next chapter now... ;-) |

Heero is in deep shit. Not rembering who he is completly, with only a half kicked back training and no idea about the complete background to this mission, just jumping from one assumtion to the next.
How will he get out of this without Duo?
And what about Duo? Did he kill him? |

Interesting thought of Heero's, that knowing bits and pieces is worse than not knowing anything at all.
I laughed at the visual image of the two of them trying to dance, and at Heero's stunned reaction to Duo's mindless chatter with Mattis.
It will be interesting to see Duo's opinion of Heero's stiff behavior at this party as well as of Mattis. |

I find myself checking back to see if you've updated yet - and this time I find you've updated two chapters since the last time I came around. Woo, and may I add, hoo!
I am liking this story. Majorly... honestly, not sure why, but it's got good angst, an actual plot (other than "let's all suffer for the sake of the readers' enjoyment") and demonstrates some historical understanding (of the story) without slamming us over the head with it. The subtle touches are particularly nice, where you've implied past events without being obtuse.
Can't wait to read more. |

What in the hell are you doing stopping it there?! It was just starting to get pretty damn good. Poor Hee-chan, he has just started to get his memory back and I can understand why he is scared. I would be too if I were in his position. Who in the hell wouldn't be? By the way, I am the Aria who is reviewing, but someone took my name so I just added a last name. Ah, yes, I have mentioned before how I love the Heero POV chapters.
The introspection in this installment is even better, now that he knows their marriage is a farce. The way he wondered WHY things weren't different, and how he has analyzed his feelings NOW versus how they might have been BEFORE was heartwarming, and a little sad. Something about Heero feeling adrift like this, and trying to reconcile his current situation with who he "was" just gets to me! :)
I like the way you've been showing flashes of memory, and how he has connected his dreams to reality a bit. I'm not an expert on amnesia, but I know it's common for people to remember bits and pieces here and there. Perhaps his dream was the catalyst for his remembering what he has so far.
Hmmm, wonder what else Duo wants to say to him in the shower next. |

OOPS! I made a typo on the last review - that was a review of chapter NINE, not eight. Ah, well.
Heero's sudden reaction to his newfound flash of memory was quite fitting.
I guess Duo really had no choice but to 'fess up. It was sweet the way Heero hesitantly asked Duo if he merely "cared" for him. I wonder what is going through his mind now.
The upcoming party should be VERY interesting. |

Oh, I LOVE the Heero POV chapters. He is so lost in them, it's interesting to see how HE views things.
You did a nice job of having Heero take matters into his own hands, and poor Duo, struggling with the temptation. His choice of words, though, wow. Of course, with Heero/Odin's fears, I think almost anything Duo said would have been taken as rejection.
The ending of the chapter was perfect, with Heero's sudden memory of certain maneuvers. A nice cliffhanger ending. |

That last chapter was quite good and I want to see more. This story has got me hook line and sinker and I want to know what is going to happen now that Duo has told Heero/Odin what is really going on. When Heero gets his memory back what is he going to do about his relationship with Duo?
Poor thing doesn't really know what he is doing. I feel sorry for him and I hope that he gets his memory back really soon. And when is Wuffers going to come and save him? They need to get out of there before they are even more suspicious. Please write again really really really soon I can't wait to see the next chapter.

P.S. Don't leave Winning Duo where it is please, it is a great fic and deserves to have a great ending. |
