I thought about this story a few days ago and finally decided to
revisit it. It's been nearly 15 years since I found it. Again, I'm
blown away by the cinematic feel of the story from start to finish.
It's almost too much - being carried away by the ensemble cast and
feeling invested in their futures. In fact, this story inspired me
to write ensemble in my future stories. It's fine having the story
focus on a handful of people, but everyone interacted with pitch
perfect balance. I checked for a year or so to see if the epilogue
had been added. After that, I focused on my own writing. Even
though I'm shocked and saddened to see the epilogue was never added
to update us on how everyone turned out, this is a true masterpiece
and I feel privileged to have read it. I wish Rinseternalsoul all
the best in her future endeavors.

Hi. I ended up with mixed feelings about this. The story was very
interesting and engaging. You definitely did a good job sucking the
reader in and having them at the edge of their seat, esp. in
wondering what was going to happen. Kagome ending up locked up with
Sesshoumaru but not knowing was such an intensity driver. Feeling
for these characters was intense. The anticipation of them coming
together was very well executed. But there was one significant
thing I had a major issue with in this story: your author's note in
chapter 7. You said: "My New Years gift to the Yaoi fangirls out
there. Enjoy." Now, rape is a valid plot device, and I am not
criticizing you for choosing to use it. But I am very, very
disturbed and upset that an author would write such a scene and
tell their readers of a certain proclivity to enjoy it. You told
readers to enjoy someone's rape and that it was a gift to them. And
I just honestly do not know what to make of that or if there is any
excuse for that. Yaoi stories/ scenes are great. But this wasn't a
consensual expression of love or lust. This was rape. It's not
something to be enjoyed by anyone because that's - and there's no
other way to put it - sick. Given how upsetting this was and
knowing I would comment on it eventually, I pushed through the rest
of the story to give it a fair chance. As I said, there was a lot
of great tension after that point. The escape was engaging and
brilliant, and as stated, Kagome and Sesshoumaru getting together
was very emotional. Seeing the bad guy get it was satisfying. But
at the point where Kagome finally realizes who were silent lover's
identity was, the characterizations started to fall flat for me and
get to OOC. I personally felt that Kagome lost some of that
intensity and sweetness they had. Sesshoumaru dealing with his
experiences and coming to terms with them through their sex life
seemed to be more about the sex than Sesshoumaru's healing and
vulnerability. Perhaps to each their own on that, but I felt like
something was missing at that point or that we missed out on
character development that could have endeared him even more to the
reader. Overall, the plot and story was interesting. But in the
end, I just can't get past that author's note. If it had been left
out, I would have never thought twice about the chapter in that
regard, but as it is, well, I have to be honest and say I find that
a problem. I would love to recommend this story to readers as it's
hard to find fics that are darker and/ or deal with more difficult
subject matters. But the author's note and mentality and rape
culture it promotes just won't allow for it.

IÂ&Aci rc;´ve read about half of this and Im
realy liking it so far. Exceptional writing, realy. I just want to
point out a small error. When a woman is menstruating,
she´s NOT having her fertile period.
They are just not the same. A womans is fertile about 14 days after
shes had her period.

don't get me wrong, i am glad that Inuyasha has feelings for someone other than kagome, but it kinda pisses me off that he just passed her off and isn't really thinking about her at all. I mean she is his best friends, seems kinds cold, even in the face of his new romance. |

O_O poor sesshomaru.... I hope kagome and sessh make up... I wonder how Uchuu will react when he sees that his fellow prisoner is THE Sesshomaru. I also wonder what will happen when Kagome shows up in the western citadel (if that is where she is going) when she goes to give Rin Shin.... |

GRRRR why do you always do that! it is sooooo frustrating!!!! why can't you let just 1 thing run smoothly between Sesshomaru and Kagome?! AND you are going to bring Oda down on her village, she doesn't even have her eyesight back yet!!!!! your story may be very good good, but it is often, as I said, VERY hair ripping frustrating! |

hahaha according to the herb woman, Kagome's most recent journey has led her in a complete circle! I wonder if she will get back to the village before Inu or at the same time... maybe you plan on having him escort her home... how did Sayu become blind when she was a child? you know I am most eager to see what becomes of the barrier situation. If they go through the hole then the monkeys can use it as a bottle neck and kill the enemy in smaller more manageable numbers... |

NO!!!! please let it be a trap! now that the outburst is out of the way, WHY are you so damn cruel! she is sooooo close to getting her eyesight back and he isn't even going to be there? and hasn't he thought of the fact that she might realize he is one and the same when they meet again? she has felt his power, his body, seen his hair (kinda), has a decent idea of how tall he is, how does he think that she won't find out sooner rather than later? |
