I read this WHOLE story over and it STILL makes me cry! You have skills girl! And Inuyasha's letter in his self-portrait. So him, love it!

Oh wow... I absolutely adored that epilouge! Your talents amaze me. I get updates in my inbox for your fic's and I absolutely can't wait to click on that link and read 'em! I can't wait to see what else you write, please don't quit on me! Your one of the bestes writers ever!

Ok, so I read this epilogue about... five or six times, now? I definitely like it! It really is a sweet ending to this little stint of 'days in modern 'Yasha's life'. And it makes me feel all warm and squishy inside, because it sorta indicates that the 'good' ending got the epilogue, and the bad one didn't :p ---- Ok, so I'm being childish - but I really did fall in love with your fic dear, especially the characterisation. I can't say I'll complain if the muse bites you again and you give us any more one shots... or write a sequel, too ^v^ ---- Yes, yes, I'm being excessively hopeful and I'll stop, but hey, you can't blame a girl for trying! In any case, I thank you SO much for writing this. It was a very enjoyable experience (even the angsty bits, would you know?) and I'll be looking out for anything else you write in the future. You gained yourself a steady fan, darling! Beware! *laughs* take care and stay safe! (and see you on Z!)

I loved the epilogue! I'm so glad that you decided to write a little more on this story. I liked it alright before you added this, but this epilogue is like the cherry on top. I can't wait to see what other stories you might start on. You have such an amazing talent. It's so easy to feel the personalities of the characters and to see the imagery you describe in your writing. It's nice to see that Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha developed a good relationship here. I'm so glad read this story. Thank you so much for writing it and sharing it!

Sweet, sweet ending...I really liked it. Virtual hugs to this Inu and Kagome as in my mind's eye they go off happily into the sunset together, walking beauty's way....

Wow!! It was very good. I do like how you started out with the last chapter, pieces ya know? It musta taken forever to finish with as long as the chapter was. Kagome really wasnt in it, she kinda disapeared, but the chapter wasnt about that, they were always solid. However filling in how things got mended was fantastic. Great job and congrats on finishing a great story.

It's still very sad but ends on a hopeful note and I do like the guilt in Sesshomaru. This is very nicely done and great for all the happy enders out there, but i think your original ending (although painfully heart shattering sobbingly sad) was the more appropriate ending. I hate to cry or even come close to tears and your other ending did make me cry buckets but with the way the story is written and the reality of true cases like this The other ending just fit. *sighs* I sound terrible to say it. I'll be looking for your other one-shots

MAN! After that tear-jerker of a tragic ending, I never thought that I would like this one better! Finally, he's got his place and everything looks bright! What a great story! I'll treasure this one forever! It was so well written! ^_^

I going to be biases, but I love this ending better. I clearly understand why the first ending was written. After what Inu went through and how is father treated him, I can see his father going over the edge and killed him in the first ending. But this second ending goes with story just as well. It was not the "happy ending" I was especting, but it turned out magnificiently. I just love how Inu perservered though everything he had gone through and still end up on top. I glad that you made Sess character humble himself and see who was the true man in that mess up family. Can not wait for the one-shoters. I hope you will point out in those shots that Inu regain his ability to paint again. Excellent story.

When I started reading this chapter, I did it with bated breath. The sad ending was so completely morose that I just didn't know if I could go through reading the first part of this again. But I obviously did, and I must say that I like this ending much better. Through the rest of the fic you have shown Inuyasha as a boy who has had horrible things happen to him but he has perservered in the face fo that horribleness. He has perservered. The first ending took that and killed it. This ending chapter doesn't have everything end up all bluebirds, rainbows, and sunshine. It shows the perserverance of the character through a horrible beating, paralysis, and dealing with the aftermath. It keeps up the theme of perserverance. I like that about this chapter. Thanks so much for writing this second ending.

i still think the first ending fit the tragic storyline better. but at least this one wasn't all sugary. the way you wrote this, i can accept it. the pain didn't just magically go away. it's still there, even if there is an uneasy truce between the brothers. inuyasha will always have mental and physical scars to remind him of his early life. you never let us know if he regained his ability to paint. i liked the slight characterization change he went through. after something so catastrophic happening in his life, he was not so quick to act like a puppy dog, happy for any attention. it had a feeling of reality. since you felt the need for a happy ending, this was the perfect way to end this wonderful story. thank you for all the enjoyment it brought.

While I respected the original ending, as it's a sad truth that sometimes life just does not go the way we want it to, I'm very pleased that you finally wrote the alternate ending. It was hardly a "happy" ending, with the amount of angst still riddled throughout, which is actually a good thing as it fit perfectly with the general storyline. Making it too WAFF would have seemed off kilter. I agree that I would have liked to see more Inu/Kag interaction, but since you mentioned two potential one-shots in the works, I'm assuming that we can look forward to more from our favorite couple at some point in the (hopefully) near future. Until then...

Hey sweety! I was just thinking about you and wondering whether you needed someone to knock your ideas against, but then whoot! I come in today and here's the new goodness. I am one of the advocates of this ending (As you well know, lol). And I'm really thrilled to hear about the one-shots! I really do like this little universe you created - and I look forward to diving into it a little longer. I especially like the end of this one, with Sesshoumaru making an effort... but I can't say I wouldn't have liked some more interaction between Kagome and Sesshoumaru... I can clearly see her throw a hissy fit in the kitchen if the latter ever upsets Inuyasha. ^v^ All in all, I loved this fic... and I'll be re-reading it! (Though this time I'm going to guiltily skip the bad ending. ^Y^ Lova ya lots!)

This is a really good, strong ending. I would have liked to see more Kagome, but I love how you brought in the reconcilliation between Sesshoumaru and InuYasha. Again, the story's conclusion seems to be in large part about Sesshoumaru's coming to terms with himself and growing up, but I got to admit, I like this one better. Thanks.

that was still heart wrenching. i am so very grateful that you wrote the alternate ending as i was extremely traumatized by the original, not saying that i wasn't traumatized by the intensity of this one, it's just that the outcome was a comfort. one who kept such a pure heart even after such abuse deserves more than just peace in death. . . only a master artist elicits such strong emotion from those who view their work and in this you have succeeded. ~ thank you, ginny

Hey, are you ever going to write that second ending? I understand if you don't...it's just that this ending was so incredibly tragic (well done) and I'm such a sucker for happy endings... it would really be great to see one from you on this story (which is really quite something). In any case, I hope to see something new from you soon!

I bow to your amzing talent! I NEVER cry at any emotional scene, no matter how well-written it is. However, your ending had me teary-eyed. Even though a happy ending would have been acceptable (and I hope you will write one), this ending has transformed this fic from excellence to brilliance. The sheer imagery and emotion in this ending is breath-taking. Further, this ending is more realistic and in-keeping with the father's brutal characterisation. I absolutely loved it! Sesshomaru's discovery, the description of the beating, the death-scene, the breakdown at the memorial service, Sesshomaru's feelings of guilt - each and every scene was amazingly created and written. However, the scene that drove me to tears was Sesshomaru's thoughts about Inuyasha and on a life wasted. This scene, which lesser authors would have absolutely botched up, was handled perfectly by you. It was not loud or in-your-face, but like all the other scenes, was sublte and thus, more heart-wrenching. I like how the actions of characters depicted their sadness, their pain and their loss. I think this was a brilliant bit of prose and congratulate you! I pray that one day I may write a scene as powerful as this! Good luck and thanks for sharing this with us! Just one question... am I right in assuming that the happy ending will have Inuyasha return from the "dead", since he is not actually dead, but in hiding somewhere? Atleast that is the impression I got from the no-body part, which is a ploy used by scriptwriters when they want to re-introduce a "dead" character at a later date. So am I right? Guess I'll find out soon enough ::grins:: love ~~~~Briana

When I finished chapter 23, I had a nervous tingling in my stomach. I knew, deep in my heart, that inupapa was going to find, stop, and probably beat Inuyasha, all for trying to leave. I didn't think he would really kill him. I hope you don't take this wrong, but there was a point where I thought I was going to be sick. Strangely enough, that is a good thing. That means that you have written stongly enough to wrap me in the story completely. Halfway through this chapter I all but prayed that the EMS would get there in time. The ending with Sess and Kagome was superb. You stayed completely true to the original character of Sesshoumaru - he didn't care, and if he did he certainly wasn't going to show it to anyone. The hints of remorse in Sess's mind, if not on his face, were the hardest part of this chapter to read. It was heart breaking. I cried during the ending of this fic. damn. The fact that Kagome couldn't even bury him was heart wrenching. I wanted to scream and rant when you wrote that Sess had attended the funeral. I thought, 'what a hipocrit!' and I was angry that he hadn't cared about his brother, but he would make an appearace for appearances' sake. All in all, while this ending was wonderfully written, cathartic, and true to character, it also sucked horribly. You lead the reader through 23 chapters to believe that Inuyasha will escape the horrors of his life and be allowed to continue with Kagome and school and the rest. But your sweet escape was from life itself. What a drag. Thanks for writing this for us though. I would be a hypocrit myself if I didn't tell you that I was looking forward to another ending, perhaps a slightly warmer one....perhaps one where they at least get to bury the body? You have done a wonderful job through the whole thing.

I am completely at the edge of my seat at the ending of this chapter. After all the horrible things that have happened to Inu, I really hope that this one escape attempt will work out. At the end of the last chapter, when you had someone meeting Inu as he came in, You knew that we all thought it was gonna me Inupapa. Sess was quite the change. There was a feeling of relief, but then the tension built again. And then when Inu told Kagome that he "couldn't do this anymore," it was another stomach drop that came up a little more with the realization that he was going to go and move in with Kagome. So you have effectively taken us, your dear readers, on a rather good roller coaster ride from hell. I can't read the next chapter for a little while, so I'll be keeping this nervousness in the pit of my stomach. Excellent job, and huzzah to the author!

I don't think I have ever cryed when reading a fic, but here I am sobbing. Incredible! Touching! Heart breaking and inspiring all in one. Too often, tradgey is allowed to occur when so it is so often avoidable. You're ability to create a vivid and realistic story is amazing! I'm excited to read the happy ending, but glad to have experience such a strong emotion from this one. I have so much to say, but find myself becoming speechless. Excellent.

Oh my god, you made me cry. Do you have any idea how hard it is to make me cry? I was BAWLING. I'm a sucker for happy endings as well, but I think this one fits the story much better. I don't know why, I just like it. Which is really wierd becuase I shouldn't like such a sad ending. I don't know what I'm going to do now that this story is over. It was just so good. You are really a phenomenal writer, brilliant, genius, more than words can appropriately describe. I wish there was more I could say but I'm at a loss for words. This review seems really, too short. Thank you though, for posting such an incredible story. A thousand times thank you. =] Sincerely, xPimx

You really know how to write a tear jerker seriously it was all i could do to keep from sobbing and kept thinking she's gonna go there, her mom already sent the police just in case the ambulance will make it. I kept thinking so many things that would turn it around at the last moment and then when you wrote him taking his last breath i had to try very hard not to break out into full chest wrenching sobs that would have awoken the entire house. It was very well written just so terribly sad and i can see why you would have envisioned it to end this way. I will be watching for the happy ending but the story is perfect as is. Terribly said but terribly honest in it's own way. The 8 for enjoyment is because it is great but so sad I can't honestly say it's a 10 in enjoyment because honestly who enjoys being sad and crying? It's still a great story I also don't fill out the ratings very often

Incredible! I have been glued to my computer for hours. I really wanted to write a review for each chapter, but found I couldn't wait that long to read the rest. Now my eyes are buggy and I'm afraid I have to wait to read the rest. Wonderful attention to detail. You've captured their emotions well. Very realistic take on the situation. I know. My father's an alcoholic, so I can empathize with Inuyasha. Amazing story. Really looking forward to reading the rest.
